This man's voice has been in my head since I was 5, because I watched How It's Made literally every day
What do you do for a living. You have to be the smartest guy by now
I have watched How its Made for many years, however, his voice is strange to me as, in the UK, it is Tony Hirst who does the voice over.
You must be young.
For Real

Fun facts:
1) Modern Teslas no longer have a park pawl
2) The 'pre-assembled car body' was made by Lotus in England and then shipped to California
The car is a Lotus Eclipse :)
@@derrickstorm6976 elise?
Lotus, ok, I thought the shape seemed kinda similar...
the preassembled car body was just a lotus gasoline model, with an electric car in it, its called badge engineering and saves people a TON of money.
@@lunarthespacecat7772 Except only around 7% of the components were shared.
This is such a small part of how an electric vehicle is made, but I figured this much for a 5-minute video.
Great video still!
I mean, these are some of the differences from a standard Gasoline-powered vehicle
They didn't tell us about the non-eco-friendly mining for lithium. And the fact coal powered plants supply most of the electricity. Can't have everything!
@@billschlafly4107 It’s just electric, just another business. It has nothing to do with the environment.
@@billschlafly4107 Moot point. Your clothes you are wearing are petroleum based. Manufactured by coal powered plants. If you don't like what tesla is doing, start riding a bike everywhere, or walk. That is the smallest carbon footprint you can make.
An original roadster assembled by BIG KING is probably worth millions.
Tesla has come a long ways from this humble start.
Thanks to corruption and the fact that Tesla is a cult
Hell first Tesla was built on a Lotus Elise. Same as the first vehicle Venom out of Houston built their first car
It's going to be so fascinating to come back and watch this in 15-20 years and marvel at the advancement. Thanks for the video team!
great job 💪🚘🔥
@@sithyarael6807 So that's why it looked so familiar
Electric car pulled up to a Gas Station to get some air for the tire.
Gas Attendant: Fill'er up Sir?
Driver: No Tanks.
Zero tailpipe emissions. Very carefully worded.
I’d call it just accurate. There’s always going to be emissions from the production of the vehicle, and a lot of time from the electricity that powers it. Like everyone doesn’t already know that.
Huggbees will show me how cars are *really* made.
I love cars, it’s pretty intresting to see behind the scenes.
Head over to the Tesla youtube, this is their first attempt at a car, the new production will blow your mind how far & fast they have come.

This must be from the first few years of the show, right?
If there has ever been a familiar voice in your life, it’s this man’s voice. And I have no idea what his name is.
I love this show but it's a pain during episodes where them mispronounce a reoccurring component.

These cars looked so cool
They really did looked cool, the future ones were better.
I can't wait to own one of these. These are far superior, just have to wait until they are cheap enough to buy one
Now all we need is an endless source of lithium for batteries cue the next resource war
Graphine will replace lithium in the near future.
Is this the History Channel?
Is this car really echo friendly? They have to mine the materials for the batteries. Plus to dispose of all the hazardous materials
No it's not at all. Lots of exploited labor. These things are fire hazards
It's better than a gas car, but you're right that there are issues. The biggest problem is that it's still a car: a personal vehicle way bigger than the (usually 1) occupant. It perpetuates most of the support systems cars demand: giant parking lots that hollow out cities, freeways that can never be wide enough to prevent congestion, and overall low density sprawl.
@@joeyanthony7831 that exploited labor is some of the highest paid wages in these countries though also less flammable than conventional vehicles
Batteries are 92 to 98% recyclable not one has ever made it into a landfill considering the cost are these materials

Nice
Zero emissions?? Yeah right. Only 1000's of gallons of diesel to mine the lithium for the battery. My 76' chevy with a big block is more green
Great spotlight, a then and now would be cool to see, Roadster pt2 is coming. This might as well have been filmed back in 1902 (first electric car) because the Tesla advances are so far beyond this right now, in quality, efficiency, and manufacturing speed. BTW those guys you see assembling those cars are more than likely millionaires by now if they took the stock options.
Only if they sell.
@@BobbyAeros I watched a video with a guy that was hired around the 300th person, stock options was $0.90 he sold around $32 for $50mil.

Anyone gonna talk about them using so much blue Lok-Tite?
No roar, that is the best part! I HATE revving cars.
Tesla motors came long way from being a silicone valley startup to global automotive giant more worth than top 6 car manufacturers combined, both tesla motor and the battery technology came a long way that original roadster looks like it was built in a someone driveway
Stock price worth more than all other car manufacturers combined, and at times, times 5 that.
Stock price isn‘t really based on real life value of the company though. A lot of it is hype
Great work 🥳 Thank youuuu 💜
we're not gonna talk about how that dude stole the tesla
4:18 “WARRANTY VOID IF SEAL IS BROKEN” is so typically Tesla (and also a violation of the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act of 1975…)
It is typical of pretty much everyone. They think consumers are stupid and/or uninformed, and for the most part they are correct
You can push back on warranty if you have a real issue, most companies want to help you and want you to be happy vs whatever a sticker says, just reach out
Does make sense wha if the guy takes it to a near by garage first and they broke the seal and ruined it more?then tesla shouldn't be responsible for that. :o
*Next video...on electric plain... 😂😂*

Electric cars should be affordable for anyone
Aren't there basic Teslas or something for 25k a pop? I heard Elom were promising these cheaper models in the near future a short awhile ago.
Get on that then. Do you also have plans to completely redo the entire national power grid, as well as finding where to get all that power?
There is alot of they repeated in the video? Couldnt you just skip the word entirely?
Big king sneaked a snap-on flex on us
La producción de los carros eléctricos es menos compleja, ayuda al ambiente con las emisiones y eventualmente estos carros seran la nueva norma.
that's assembly, they don't show every component like they do. 😂
It’s insane how far Tesla has grown
like the melting seats and exploding engines and misaligned parts? yea
@Tenderil Skeleton I got a brand new Nissan Rogue. It's been in the shop 3 times in a year for all kinds of issues. New cars have issues.
Maybe Elon will learn labor in America, has become dog shit and moves his factories overseas. I wouldn't build anything here with the labor force. We're terrible.
@@CAINE1984 gonna ignore the part where he treats his employees like dog shit though right?
@loving tennessee How?
That's a pretty broad statement.

amazing how I’m knowing how the Tesla Roadster is made. what a masterpiece
I wish they just showed how the model 3 or something like that is made. Why did they pick the most oldest and outdated of the bunch?
But can it outrun the cops?
Definately. Cops won't put on a huge chase like in the past because its not safe to the public. They just record the license plate and get them later.

Lithium batteries and coal-powered recharging. The tech will evolve over time, but you're better off buying a fuel efficient gas vehicle if you're worried about pollution.

Electric vehicles are worse than useless in rural areas. Lack of range, NO charging stations, time to recharge, no where near worth the price. If I wanted an electric car, I can build one at the nearest junkyard, for less than $5000, batteries included.

What is the total environmental cost of all the mining of the copper and lithium ,and how do you properly dispose of it ? Nobody asks the real question just that it's zero emissions😂
But gas cars also have batteries? The amount of resources spent on making a gas or electric vehicle are roughly equivalent
@@sheeptasticSeb Most vehicles are made from recycled steel and have lead acid batteries ,there is minimal mining involved ,and you could build a 1000 cars for the same carbon impact as one electric vehicle
🤦
Why would you "dispose of" copper?? Have you heard of this thing called recycling? 🤣😂
Tesla is basically turning out Model T's at this point. They're going to be collectors items one day, you'd be smart to buy one and just store it away. The technology has and will continue to improve! And once there's enough of the metals that they need in the world (like steel in ICE cars) the amount of mining they need to do will decrease! I don't see you throwing out your laptop, cell phone, tablet, watch, electric toothbrush or any of your battery powered power tools that contain lithium! So why can't other people have electric cars? Did you research the "environmental cost" of your cordless leaf-blower before you bought it?
And zero (tailpipe) emissions IS important if you live in California and have to sit in traffic for hours barely moving twice a day! That ALSO wastes a huge amount of gas just keeping your car idling. And the more people who buy electric cars, the fewer people there will be buying gas! (Less demand = lower prices!) Seriously, exactly what is everyone's problem with EV's?
@@sheeptasticSeb I highly doubt what you say. The batteries on electric cars are enormous and costly, and so isn't the price to purchace one of them. I'd rather pay $180.00 (for my car) for a gasoline powered vehicle battery than $20k or more for a electric vehicle battery, plus the dealer installation cost, and huge fee to dispose of the old one. Either way the government will have people paying up the ass no matter what. Once more people buy electric vehicle's the price of electricity will rise as well.
If it costs roughly the same to make an electric vehicle as it does a gasoline powered vehicle, electric vehicle's wouldn't cost so damn much to purchase one of them. Not many people can afford to buy one, especially right now with sky high inflation.
