I am 12 years old and recently started a card business because you inspired me. My dad gave me a 25 dollar loan and I bought some cheap lots with upside. Your videos are very helpful and I love them. Thank You. Can’t wait to hopeful see you at Joe Davis next show. I have been to every show he has had and go in his shop from time to time
I have cards that you can have for free if you pay the shipping I have baseball sets 1987 1988 1989 1990 and I have non sport cards from the same time as well I plan on throwing it all in the garbage so if you want the cards let me know its about 10.000 cards at least.
Your video's gave me the desire to check my collection I have aprox 12000 cards to sort I stoped collecting about 25 year ago and your video's encouraged me 2 start again .Thanks
I'm definitely a newbie, collected as a kid growing up and stopped in high school.. started collecting again last summer, now trying to figure out how to effectively sell them, love your content!
Jeff!! I just got back in to the hobby. I'm a veteran and have been looking for an outlet for stress. I got in to trouble with Ebay fees almost a decade ago and can't imagine going back now that I'm in the hobby. I hope you do a part 2 to this video. thanks so much for being as involved as you are and how much you research everything.
COMC is 50 cent fee now. Still probably worth saving your time. I had a big submission of cards like you are talking about and we will see how it goes. I'm hoping it's a way better option than ebay
I’ve stopped submitting cards altogether on COMC because the traffic has slowed down due to their shipping issues. I ordered a lot of 125 cards to be mailed in late April and the delivery date quoted was late August. As a result I’m no longer buying on COMC and just waiting for the cards that I have listed sell and then cash out.
EXCELLENT video! thank you for the wealth of information! Will be starting several platforms that were mentioned here. I've always hated the fees for ebay, thank you for the alternatives.
Its never going to end, sorry to burst your bubble, the tyranny has just begun, more lockdowns are coming, the vaccine will be to blamed but the media will blame variants and the no mask wearers. Its going to get real ugly.
Comc recently added that you have to pay 50 cents for each toploaded card you send into them and 25 cents if you want a toploader on your card when buying. Its pretty dumb
That's what I'm talking about straight to the source.bypassing the PSA middleman what makes there eyes better than mine .make sure all four corners are straight and center the card in the middle of hard plastic case.
Being a newbie to this hobby i thought every card pulled out of pack was Gem mint 10. Its been eye opening. The standard that is demanded to get the value from a card.👍
I have lots of 1989-1990 cards, boxes etc. had them since the 1990s. I know there are lots of difference in pricing depending on where you look. I think I will give ComC because of the prices coming up. Thanks for your video!
I’ve been focusing on soccer cards because I’m as familiar as it gets with the world of football(soccer). This sport has potential in the sports card world and I’ve been lucky to get cards from Europe(usually only available there) at good prices but yeah ebay is sure taking a good chunk of the profits.
Great discussion. I love COMC! Waiting on 4 orders to be shipped. I collect Detroit all 4 teams rookies, and am backfilling and COMC was exactly what I wanted. I'm able to shop all the teams, and all the rookies including obscure stuff like my 1985 Mike Cofer rookie for $.50 or $1.00. If you collect a certain player (like mentioned in the video), team, city, set COMC is a great way to fill much of your wantlist.
@Menalda Hi! I know absolutely nothing about COMC. Have always bought and sold on EBAY. Do you fill in a form and ship your cards to COMC where they do all the work? Or do you retain items until notification of sale. I am sure information is available at site, your comment about such a huge delay in receiving confused me. It doesn't seem like a professional reliable enterprise.
I have thousands of thousands of sports card I inherited from my husband and his father’s collection, I feel very overwhelmed and full of anxiety when I look at the bins of boxes and boxes and boxes of cards lol I do not even know where to start. Thankfully he was pretty organized
COMC is great for us international, to do business and also, you can share items on Facebook and protection is on side of buyer and seller as well, which is highly appreciated!
I came across your channel by accident and I'm glad I did. I don't have the funds to grade most of my PC Jordan cards I've had from 90 and up, I don't know if they are more graded or raw. Your thoughts on this? Thanks in advance. 👍
Can i request yall 2 do this video again? 2 years later recap! I have just started my cards selling account (CardsAppraiser) and would love an updated video of where we are at now with everything!
My concern about selling on Facebook and Instagram is that if I let someone pay with goods & services, can’t they just keep the card and still file a claim with PayPal saying they didn’t get it? It seems that goods & services protects the buyers, but friends & family protects the seller. As a seller, how do let people pay me with goods & services and avoid getting scammed out of my card and the money?
Brads Card Collection not if you provide the tracking number in the PayPal transaction. My personal recommendation would be to print the shipping label through PayPal.
@Menalda I have never used COMC, but I went to the site and they are taking 22% after fees and cash out. This looks like a bigger fee then if I sold it myself. eBay and PayPal fees are actually at 13% if you don't have a eBay store.
If you were to sell a large volume of cards, what is the best approach to this? e,g I bought 15K of cards, now I want to sell them all. OR what is a strategy selling a large volume of complete sets vs individual sets. How to optimize?
They will never tell you. All they do is make videos to manipulate the market (in reality they just tell you your cards are not worth 25 cents so you sell them and they get ‘em graded and improve their portfolio) in their favor then buy up the cards at a cheap price thereby increasing their wealth and you lose out. No wonder young people aren’t getting I to the hobby. And that may not be true it may be something they telling us so they can buy our collections at a fraction of what we put I to them. They’re crooks especially this guy
This is a great and informative video. I just did my first Facebook fire sale and unloaded $200.00 in random cards I had from breaks. I still have to go through baseball. Plan on putting this towards a Drew Lock Prizm PSA 10! Thanks
I have so many old tobacco baseball cards from the 50s and over a hundred LeBron Wade Bosh Anthony Durant Butler Davis basketball cards bozzoka rookies Wade James ext, signed cards . I have 40 Russell Wilson Rookies Bryce Harper, trout Jeter Cole Strasberg zaggs holiday too many to name they look like 9 and 10 months to me but they are raw cards what advice would you give me? Thank you
when I was buying and selling high end vapes and accessories we had a blacklist that was updated all the time with names of known scammers. it was one way to curb some of the shitbags out there.
I sell on Facebook groups all the time and use FF with vouches from other strangers I've sold to before hand with 0 problems. So let's say I do G/S does that protect the seller as well? What of they get my card and say they didn't and ask for they're money back with my card now in there possession? So what I'm saying here is if there is a way they will figure it out how to scam us all in our hobby. There should be a middle man or (woman) who you send the money and card to and they exchange it to the seller and buyer. This should be how its ✔ done. Moderator who get paid as a job to do this in huge selling groups and the ppl in the group all pay a percentage to do this in sales hold up is that EBAY or COMC? They need to make this happen for selling on Facebook IMO. It also needs to have a card authentication service done or optional. Maybe I'm crazy but I don't think EBAY OR COMC should make millions off our hobby.
eBay in league with people like this guy. It’s such a crooked industry. They want to buy your collections for pennies. They manipulate the market through blogs, grading in history, and other nefarious activity
I took a break from all selling several months ago to concentrate on work but I miss it too much lol. Mercari is a good platform. I've bought several card lots off there. Another one is Poshmark but I'm not sure if they've branched out into sport cards yet (they were mainly clothing, etc the last time I was on there).
Just curious why is a Zion williamson PSA 10 prizm silver going for 3k + and Luka who is on a better team and is clearly a superior player almost averaging a triple double at age 20 and Lukas PSA 10 Prizm Silver is about $1500 and much lower Pop any thoughts
MySlabs.com is a good outlet as well. Absolutely, nothing has or had sold on FB for me personally. I have folks low ball way too low when something has been below market already. Mercardi is more folks liking a card and not buying. I have removed my cards from them all together. Instagram is a solid as well. You can get around eBay if you message the buyer or seller & do an off Ebay transaction via paypal.
WHATS YOUR OPINON ON JUST INFORMING WHAT YOU HAVE FOR SALE & LEAVE YOUR PH # TO PERSONALLY MEET IN A SAFE LOCATION FOR THE TRANSACTION ? TOTALLY AVOID FEES. IT'S ASHAME THAT PEOPLE HAVE TO BE CONCERN ABOUT TRUST..WHAT HAPPEN TO GOOD OLE HONESTY?😁
eBay is trash!!! They suspended my account for a mistake their workers had me do!!! Zero negative sales all 5 star reviews but suspended my account!!! And then charged me for all the bids I had on my store lol!!! They are shady
A lot of your stuff has to do with modern cards and maybe I just missed the other posts but I deal primarily in Pre 1985 stuff and I'm wondering if you could do some more shows related to what's the best stuff to invest pre 1985
Hello , i started to invest becouse of you and today is my second year of learning about invest. For me is very hard becouse i am european so i made post case in us and cards are selling in Europe via Facebook groups, but my question is … is it place in Europe where is good to sell cards ? I am tryin to find right place but i think in Europe is not places like comc, if you know something would help me. Thank you for The passion what i Have in card investing. MK
3rd Party Auction platforms are awesome if you are lazy like me. They get more traffic than I ever could and take superior photos, and have a vast data of knowledge in regards to catalog\description.
I will never buy or deal with ComC ever again. I won an ebay auction for a 1/1 National Treasures RPA. The card was shipped in one of those plastic holders that has a door to open and close and holds around 25 or so regular cards. There was no filler or padding in the case and not even a penny sleeve on the card. So the 1/1 card bounced its way all across the country. Clearly visible damage on the corners once I saw it that were not in the pictures. Contacted them and all they would say is I will speak with my shipping department. Never once apologized or admitted fault. This is the very first 1/1 NT RPA I have ever owned and due to the company's incompetence could end up costing me 100s to 1,000s of dollars in the future value of the card. By far one of the worst experiences as a buyer I have ever dealt with. Still talking with people to see if its worth suing over potential money lost. If they would of at least admitted, they definitely made a mistake and apologized I think I would of just let it go and accepted the apology. Do yourself a favor and stay away from ComC
Thx for the tips man# Good advice always for those who arent as knowledgeable as others since many arent as experienced!! And man!!Jordan cards exploding!!
@@SportsCardInvestor i was up til 7am shopping for the right ones picked up 2 jordan star 86 ""the future"" cards (#10) from subset and man i got to admit i got great deals but still a good amount for them i couldve saved 2 plus hundred bucks buying raw is what i did on 2nd one butttt its to be a psa/bgs sendoff to see the results of altered or authentic or reprint but the feedback and communication as well as the ratings/ number of positive sales he had and has currently really laid to rest many worries I had at first but there's so many reprints AND scams with higher price cards its sketchyyy man better off to pay extra and have peace of mind knowing you're covered by a experts eye and authentication FOR THE extra buck!
That’s my turning point for me, getting my mind out of playing with $1 cards and focus on $10 and then $100 now I barely wince at $1000 dollar price tags 😜
Twitter is another decent platform to sell low end to end end cards. There’s a lot of we’ll know RUclips guys on there selling and buying. Lots of RAKs (random acts of kindness) going on too.
You might save peanuts selling outside of eBay but the eyes just aren’t out there any where else. All the other platforms have their own issues you’re not prepared to penny pinch over, imo. People aren’t on other platforms willing to compete with eBay prices. They’re looking to underbid everything across all platforms. Pretending other platforms is worth the effort is a fool’s errand and, imo.
I think there is a 5% comc fee after the sale and 10% when you request your money as well as the initial listing fees. It costs way more than Ebay, imo. The reward should be having great customer service, which it typically is but with the current market and pandemic purchasing anything from comc today is taking months to ship out.
I've been selling on eBay for the past yr or so I've done pretty good but yea fees are horrible I wish they only took 5% instead of 10% buy is what it is!! I always try to sell cards that are in mint condition otherwise why bother and the price should always reflect the condition of the card!! Some people are not honest and its bad for the market as a whole especially on ebay its always a risk buying raw cards!! Overall I've had good experiences on eBay with little issues here and there but that is the game!! Love being back into sports cards!!
Hey Sports card investor, love the videos! I had a question for you and other collectors. I recently bought a psa 10 and bgs 9.5 on Ebay. Both cards when viewed up close have minor imperfections like not all corners are sharp. Have you ever experienced this in your collection? If so what is your opinion on it? Do we just go by the grade regardless?
@Dustin Stein that's a terrible reply to a very common question. If you look closely at graded cards, you will find inconsistencies. That is the reality of subjective grading. I have seen legitimate black labels BGS "pristine 10" cards with noticeable imperfections. The reality is that third-party grading is there to give you some source of reassurance when dealing with objects you don't have in hand (buying from someone remotely, like with eBay. Sometimes the assurance is spot-on, sometimes it's a little off. But that is the nature of the game. As for potential fakes. They do exist. But you don't hear much about fake BGS or PSA cases as much as you do cards that have been altered.
@Dustin Stein And I agree, it's a very well-documented and well-known issue. But the OP was referring to noticing minor problems on a card that is supposed to be "gem mint", that's a different issue. Also, you said "majority of graded cards sold online" are fake/altered. That's absolutely not true.
@Dustin Stein If buying a PC item or investment online, I much prefer graded to a random seller's opinion of condition. I enjoy the grading aspect of collecting despite its flaws and the fraudsters that are out there. I also don't buy on a high enough level to worry about a trimmed 50k card.
@Dustin Stein Yes, I've read about it. But it's still a focused group of cards/type of card. Maybe the cheapest of them something like the YG McDavid, which is still very pricey for a lot of collectors. This still doesn't mean the majority of cards graded online are altered. You'd need to provide a citation for that.
sell to a global marketplace that is open 24/7/365 and has no middlemen. Collect digital NFTs and join the revolution within this great industry of collectables.
Don't people just knock 13% off the "Comps" because you're selling off eBay? Just because you save "fees" doesn't mean you're getting more money selling off ebay.... lol
Hey Justin, Adam here, if you listen to what I say in the video you don't chop off the full 13%. You work to find a happy medium with the buyer where they know they're paying less than what they would have to on ebay and you're making a little more than you would on ebay after fees. In most cases I like to sell cards for about 5-10% percent off that way I'm still coming out somewhat ahead.
Justin P15 Ive had a lot of success working on deals like this on Facebook. It’s pretty much the same as putting up a card on eBay for $xx and taking a best offer on it. If you don’t like to negotiate and only auction stuff than Facebook selling probably isn’t the right platform for you. It’s all dependent on the person selling which platform they prefer.
What I do if someone wants to pay less off the comps because we're off eBay is look at the ones currently listed and usually they're higher than my price, so you tell them "Yeah I could sell it on eBay and lose more on fees, but you could also buy one on Ebay and pay more lol, so what do we do?"
I am 12 years old and recently started a card business because you inspired me. My dad gave me a 25 dollar loan and I bought some cheap lots with upside. Your videos are very helpful and I love them. Buy em cheap, don’t over pay. Never sell.
Good luck to you! I wish I had your ambition at your age but I waited a little later in life. Take care 🙂

Jeff!! I just got back in to the hobby. I'm a veteran and have been looking for an outlet for stress. I hope you do a part 2 to this video. thanks so much for being as involved as you are and how much you research everything.
I flip on COMC. I use the profits to buy vintage cards for my PC.
found a bunch of 90s sport cards if interested in buying contact me at robertmays123456789@gmail.com

EXCELLENT video! thank you for the wealth of information! Will be starting several platforms that were mentioned here. I've always hated the fees for ebay, thank you for the alternatives.
Thanks for posting, appreciate all of the details around how COMC operates.
This was a great show today. Answered some questions and calmed some fears.
After this quarantine is over and in the optimistic frame of mind that sports resume, we should see much higher volumes of folks attending shows.
Its never going to end, sorry to burst your bubble, the tyranny has just begun, more lockdowns are coming, the vaccine will be to blamed but the media will blame variants and the no mask wearers. Its going to get real ugly.
How did that work out for you? Nobody wants to enter this crooked industry
Theres a lot of selling on reddit groups too. Ebay just doesnt make sense for smaller sellers.
Comc recently added that you have to pay 50 cents for each toploaded card you send into them and 25 cents if you want a toploader on your card when buying. Its pretty dumb
Nice video man! I need to look into these Facebook groups. It was really cool to see live stream interview. He had a lot of great information.

Ebay sucks to be honest. Theres always a better ways to sell and resell. Local and FBMP, offerup and all this groups around your area is easier.
For us in Europe (and perhaps for some people in the US), chollect.com has become a viable option.
Another great video. Picked up some great resources from this. Keep up the good work.

I thought ComC didn’t do Best Offers? I’ve sent an email to ask for an offer and they said they didn’t do that.
eBay disliked this video 3 times.
Only problem I have with the Topps Heritage this year it's print select one in every pack so I got a hundred packs and got got only 45 shirt print

That quarter is also subtracted by the .50 of shipping so it has to be $1.25
You'd be foolish to not charge for shipping !

Excellent video! Will your membership platform be available as an IPhone App?
Was to go Steve,great show.
Is Professional Grading Authority 10’s just as reliable/valuable as PSA?
No, stick with PSA, BGS and SGC for reliability.
Menalda that was honestly my first reaction when I saw one grades by them as well
Good info...i have bought from comc through ebay but not directly...does comc consign memorabilia as well or only cards?
Great info
Thx for the tips man# Good advice always for those who arent as knowledgeable as others since many arent as experienced!! And man!!Jordan cards exploding!!
Yeah Jordan cards are really going wild. Will cover that in an upcoming episode!
"i am having dinner with Mr Beckett".. gezz man relax with the name dropping lol
your discord group has plenty of buying and selling going on outside of ebay. I think you should highlight this more!
This is true!! Link to my Discord is on my website, SportsCardInvestor.com
great information to know !
I’m surprised eBay didn’t make him take this down when they bought him
Great job!
Gud day Sir can you helpme sell my kobe bryant topps 138 and skybox premium and i have no idea were to sell it
That’s my turning point for me, getting my mind out of playing with $1 cards and focus on $10 and then $100 now I barely wince at $1000 dollar price tags 😜
thx for the tips
COMC charges way too much for shipping
If you buy from them
Twitter is another decent platform to sell low end to end end cards. There’s a lot of we’ll know RUclips guys on there selling and buying. Lots of RAKs (random acts of kindness) going on too.
eBay is to expensive on eBay because of shipping to Canada
The cost of doing business
Would be sick if there was an app that’s for buy/selling cards with lower fees on cards under a certain price. Idk something like that.
U mite be on to something there a sports card app would be dope!!

How's Mercari?
Ray W very good! In my opinion way better than eBay, I have been selling on there for awhile and I love it
comc stands for check out my COLLECTABLES now xD since they deal with comics
eBay sucks
Great Video
Is it just me or did the guest seem to talk a little too much. Seemed like Geof was constantly trying to get a word in. Either way great video
EBay doesn’t let you send Friends and Family....
I got some Reggies
sell to a global marketplace that is open 24/7/365 and has no middlemen. Collect digital NFTs and join the revolution within this great industry of collectables.
Mercari is way overpriced
Don't people just knock 13% off the "Comps" because you're selling off eBay? Just because you save "fees" doesn't mean you're getting more money selling off ebay.... lol
Hey Justin, Adam here, if you listen to what I say in the video you don't chop off the full 13%. You work to find a happy medium with the buyer where they know they're paying less than what they would have to on ebay and you're making a little more than you would on ebay after fees. In most cases I like to sell cards for about 5-10% percent off that way I'm still coming out somewhat ahead.
@@AdamJShear I understand but its a lot easier on ebay, and getting an extra 5% isn't worth the hassle to me screwing around with issues off ebay
SCN Sportscard Nation, Great group! Hit me up if you want an invite.
