I just started doing eBay 4 months ago to be home to take care of my mother…. I’ve work it every single day for hours and 4 months later, 198 items sold and close to 500 listed now…. It’s been ALOT of work, but it is paying off. I can work it day or night depending on mom’s needs and she LOVES helping with it. It’s given her a purpose.

Good words, Kevin. I only really started working hard at ebay last November, I spend a couple hours every night after work and source on the weekends. My sales are increasing and I'm having a lot of success. What's easy is I LOVE IT! it's so much fun. The hard part is doing the other stuff that needs to be taken care of in my life. Lol😂.

I had a 7 day dry spell of no sales on Ebay. I was so bummed especially when other RUclipsrs were saying how great their sales were. But I list cross list with List Perfectly and was getting sales on other platforms. It was weird, but on the 8th day I had 3 sales on Ebay and it's been steady since. Glad I cross list!
If the goodwill stores both retail and bins can make mistakes meaning letting good items slip so can sellers at yard/garage/estate sale and flea markets and shows if you are truly dedicated to reselling and know what to look for you can find diamonds in the rough.
That oft quoted 3.5 percent is from a report that includes restaurants that deliver, grocery stores, Wal-Mart and basically anyplace you can spend money in a web browser.
Ebay has definitely made my life easier. I now have more money and I've been able to spend more on my family. I have never promoted a single item, I list everything based on sell through rate. Yes, I've made bad buys but my good buys overcome those. I've made great friends along the way that are resellers too. We help each other, a lot! If you try to do it by yourself it can definitely get hard. Regardless, I been very blessed and I do want to thank the "RUclipsrs" for leading/teaching the way.
You are absolutely correct. I started my store 3 months ago and am doing great. I have never used ebay promotion but have no issue selling my items. Do I sell everything, no, but I am selling a lot and learning as I do.
Agree staying positive, prayers, hope, love, faith, smiles and peace gets me through the each. I thank god every morning I wake up. Another beautiful day to spend with my family and fur family ❤ Everyone keep reselling but also enjoy and be grateful we can resell. You all have a wonderful day 😁😁😁😁😁
It is easy to fall into a horrible mindset, it can start with something simple and can really spiral out of control fast. This is why it is so important to keep yourself and your thinking in check!
Kevin you hit the nail on the head here. I have left multiple fb groups because it was full of posts with this mindset of blaming Ebay for all of their problems. Ebay is just a platform, but the success of the seller is 100% up to them. Ecommerce in general is full of ups and downs. I left my job last September to resell fulltime which I still do, but some weeks are not home runs so I adapted to where I can still resell full time and work for myself but I incorporated gigwork into my business as a second income stream which actually I've found goes hand and hand with reselling. I can go out and make $25-30 an hour doing Doordash, Uber eats, and Walmart spark on my own schedule and why I'm out I go to thrift stores during slow times or mailing out sales I've made. I found a way for self employment to work for me on my own terms
As akways, thanks for a GREAT video. I am a Substance Abuse Counselor and will use your words about success with my patients.. Great words to start my day re-selling.
Last year my eBay sales just kept going down but after Christmas I thought I'd try something new. Whilst all the shops had their January sales on I started buying sale items and listing them on eBay. I'll list anything, if I think I can make a profit I'll give it a go. I've made a few mistakes along the way but on the whole I've done well. My profit margin per item is less with new items but I'm selling 10 times more than I was. I still pick up the odd used item along the way but the majority of my inventory is now brand new goods. Lately, my family have all been sorting out their wardrobes and have been dropping off bags of used clothes for me so I now have hundreds of items of clothing waiting to be sorted and listed. I'm going to start with the coats, boots, sweaters and cardigans ready for the colder weather coming and see how they go. I rarely sell clothes but I'll give it a go, if it doesn't work for me I haven't lost anything as they were all free anyway. You just have to keep trying and if things go wrong try and figure out if there was something you could have done differently and don't make that mistake again.
Hi Kevin. My husband and I have been reselling for a couple of years now. We are 50 yrs old now and have 2 boys, 26 and 16. We started out just trying to get rid of the boys' things from when they were younger and have now been reselling things we find in the wild. We go to Thrift Stores, Estate Sales, Rummage Sales and things have just been growing. Yes, prices have gone up, but the deals are there if you look. Watching you and a couple other RUclips has been invaluable. We have been going through some hard times the last couple of months and the focus shifted to them. We have reset ourselves and we have been listing on eBay every day for the last week or so and we have generated about $200 in sales in the last 3 days. In my opinion, you HAVE to list at least a few items a day to keep your store relevant in the search engine and to have success. Promoted listing is not the answer, you can do it just by listing a few a day. Thank you and your family for l you do! Carrie Lil This, Lil That Vintage & Antiques.
Kevin spot on as usual! You have to work at your business. I put my eBay store on time away and I didn’t have any sales for about a month and a half … guess what? That’s why I didn’t have any sales. I started listing again -shipping next day and the sales went up. If you got a good store you need to just be in the retail mindset and don’t just assume people are going to find you… you need to go to the people. Lots of listings - quality listings. whatever it takes. And that’s how it’s works!
I 100% agree with this philosophy. When I learned years ago to have a "growth mindset", it shifted my way of thinking. If you just look at the problem, you will give up. If you think instead, "what can I do differently?" it helps to see that there's always room for improvement. It is a life skill to think this way. Excuses are rooted in self-pity/woe-is-me. Most people can come up with things that aren't perfect in their lives... and ways that the cards that have been dealt were bad... but if we just focus on those things, we're stuck in chains. Reselling and being self-employed in general requires the growth mindset 100%
i learned a very valuable lesson about being an eBay seller ... I learned that eBay is a machine and like any machine I have to take care of the machine and execute preventive medicine for the health of my eBay and i have a ton more better days in sales than i ever have in problems with eBay and as soon as I learned this lesson it changed my mind my approach and diligence i work hard at it and i post nearly everyday and i wake to sales nearly everyday... I really enjoy eBay and being a reseller. Thank you for your great videos you are very smart at eBay i wish i was making the sales u make i am working hard at it Thanks again Sincerely
As a former ball player (I could ride the pine with the best of them), your coaching philosophy is dead on! Effort and how you handle yourself is key. Once those things are corrected, results will follow. You may not always win on the field (sometimes there's just more talent in the other dugout), but you'll win as a person.
One of the best videos on RUclips. Positivity is the road to success if everyone made excuses then there would never be any of the great innovations we have today.
You’re so correct. The more ambitious in finding inventory the more money we can make. I’ll be on my way to estate sales and stop at garage sales I see along the way. Then check out some local auctions as well.
Hi Kevin. I finally received my T2C Tote bag and CWP Fanny pack. Thank you. I will use them when I recover from a full knee replacement revision. Much love to the family!
I know the reason for my slow sales is my inventory. I'm going to niche down to better asp items. Today I delisted all the kids clothes and put them on the Buy Nothing Group, will be picked up tomorrow. Did the same on tons of books, 12 boxes, the gentleman that picked them up stocks the little libraries on the beach. He messaged me a few hours later letting me know he took care of them. I'm in Clearwater Florida.
I was also given a ebay changing tip and it's so silly and simple... daily listing! List every day, doesn't matter if its 1 item or 10, if you list everyday ebay will promote you even on non promoted listings
You're right, it doesn't help replying to those w/ that mindset. They will be stuck in that negativity until they are ready to make a change for themselves. I do believe people can change, most just don't want to... it's hard work. Worth it though. Acting "as if".. things are a certain way is something I teach my students every day. Such a powerful mindset.
if you put nothing in to it, it will fail. if you put your all in you will succeed. Use to have so many auctions around me, were i could go to a auction 2 times a week if i wanted to. Covid dried that up and put them all out of business so i have to relook at every thing and rethink how i get my items. started doing yard sales. we just a pallet place as well so im starting that. ive done pallets before and there is good money there too, well you can lose on them as well. never give up keep doing what you love and i love reselling.
Yeah I feel that frustration being from the UK. You go in a charity shop and see items at full ebay price... but sometimes its just about find brands or items that they may not recognise... like I found a Aspinal of London wash bag for £4... will easily sell for £30+ if not in excess of £50 as it was a specific model and run...

IMO, preparedness, planning, and proper mental attitude are three of the keys to successful sourcing, no mater where that is. I go with that attitude that I WILL find great things at a sale. Thank you for the reminder.
You're always uplifting and awesome. We are thankful to understand the other everyday sellers are saying, selling and advice. We're thankful for you all. Right at this point we're staying steady weekly happily .😊
Watching now, I have to comment immediately that this is one of my favorite T-shirts. Question, what do you do with the T-shirts you wear on the show? I imagine a closet somewhere full of single stitch shirts with episode numbers stamped on the hanger 🙂
Thanks, friend. Mindset is everything. If things are not going so well, it's just time to charge on or pivot. Victim mentality isn't going to help anyone. Of course, if people want to be that way and leave eBay it won't hurt my feelings... more room for me 😆
Ground Advantage Cutover Update: Saw this note on one of eBays "Help" sections today and found it interesting, since I have not done the manually updating yet on my my listings that pre-date 9 July. Have you seen anything new yet, on the 30 Day expiration? "We are asking sellers to update listings to Ground Advantage over the next 30 days to ensure buyers see the most accurate shipping details. We realize this may take longer for some sellers and we will continue to support First-Class on existing listings for a longer period of time. We will update you as more information becomes available." 🙃🙂
On Ebay since 1997. I know a LOT about a few things and SOME about most things, jewelry being my expertise, love costume jewelry, easy to ship, high returns on investment (usually) - and I agree, no one knows everything. I can go into any thrift shop, even the ones that GL's everything (they don't actually) and I can find something to turn a decent profit. It's out there guys, gotta research, and know what to look for....the other day, I found no jewelry at a shop, so I decided to look around at other items and wandered into men's ties, where I found a Gucci and a Hermes, worth big money, so, the lesson here, even for me, is don't get tunnel vision....
Thank you, Kindly for the Pick me up advice, that I’ve lost sight of lately! Positive energy Spreads like wildfire just like the later !! God Bless You & Family & just keep swimming !! 👍🏼😜🙌🏼
Estate Sale or over priced for resellers, unless you go back on the day they have 50% off. At one estate sale droped the price by 80% at the end to get things moving. One person I follow on the last day everything is free.
I will gladly pay my 13-20% fee depending on platform for the exposure, rent of listings, payment processing, and sometimes INAD disputes for my tiny part time reselling that I can turn on and off on a dime! Saves me the hassel of trying to run my own website or brick & motor- even if I was big enough I have the freedom to walk away anytime.
It’s so easy to blame eBay for every problem you have but much harder to turn the focus on yourself. Human nature is always blame someone else instead of looking at yourself. I unfollowed heaps of eBay sellers on RUclips because all the do is complain, complain! Drives me nuts!
Yeah I instead look at trends and figure out how to move to categories that aren't effected by the negative as much. Prime example I moved my store over 50% but nothing but cards over the past 6 months because any item under 20 shipping costs has gotten outrageous. You can ship cards under 20 for around a dollar.
Yes I look for the stuff they missed I found three iPods for $15 last year that that I sold two of within 24 hours for $150 from a lady’s yard sale that was she so starkly stated,“ no one was getting over on her, I looks up things on eBay before I price them.” Funny thing was this was close to 1pm and my last stop. I passed on a few pieces cause they were too high. But I’m sure she didn’t sell them either. Don’t get discouraged just keep grinding. I still hit flea markets, garage sales, yard sales ,estate sales, I even work with a few close friends that are resellers too. I’ll find a good deal one way or the other.
It would be very easy to get discouraged with ebay were my sales tanking. However, after 7 years my sales are consistently good. Why? I think because during the 7 years I have become a better reseller improving my picking, listing, pictures, shipping, customer service skills. Ebay has become more challenging, but I have always been able to offset that with savvy strategies.
You need to keep two of every shirt to make two quilts, one for each kid. When they are older they will love and remember your passion for them and what you do for them as a dad!
There are a lot of cry baby resellers that need to find excuses for their poor sales. Ebay requires a lot of work, sourcing your items, cleaning items, photographing the items, researching item prices , listing the items, packaging and shipping items!! If a item isn't selling then you may have adjust pricing and or description. I have been selling for 24 years on ebay and I don't plan to quit. It helps me pay the bills. People can always cross post as well to increase the chances of selling their items. I work a full time job and I work on my ebay selling ALL the time!! I don't promote my items but I know people are seeing and watching them. Yes, I do see a change in ebay from when I first started but hey everything changes; you have to roll with it!! Love your videos Kevin!!!
I am 78 year old and sale on EBay part time and mark bet when $1 & $2 thousand a month to supplement my income. Do not like EBay but we're do I go? But I am thankful for EBay.
You have so many awesome points of advice for others. I am sure you were an awesome teacher and coach. I bet you were a very popular teacher. Do you miss being a teacher? I know the industry is now so focused on teaching to pass required testing and are keeping teachers from really being teachers preparing our kids for life. So much focus on district standings so they get funding from the government.
It’s easy to blame everyone else instead of just taking accountability for failure. But when you admit failure you don’t admit defeat, just consider it a stumbling block and keep moving forward. It takes more time and energy to complain and find fault than it is to get up, dust yourself off, and learn from mistakes.
I heard all the doom and gloom, started it anyway. 309 active listings 144 sold items Started oct 2nd. Over $5200 in sales with 46% STR, i promote everything at 5.2% nothing higher

Fake it til you make it! Just FYI, i got a vero strike for selling HP ink cartridges. I've been selling ink for years, even expired ink. I took down all my ink just to be safe.
Even though ebay is a side hustle for me I've been wanting to give up lately went from 5,000 to 2,000 a month in the the past 6 months. But imma keep pushing and stay consistent 💪
Hey Kevin I Bought myself a Fleet Enaman but not from you sir my apologies. But does it have the same effects on my ebay sales as a Enaman from you would? Thanks for the great video.
Kevin, We started reselling on Ebay about 4 months ago. This last week we made $900+ in sales and of that, $70 was what we spent in items. There is gold at yardsales and if you have the determination, you will succeed on Ebay. It's NOT hard once you figure it out. We love your channel, hopefully we seeya at the 127 this weekend! -.James and Lesley (The Boro Pickers)
i would love $900 a week im making about $1000 a month i need at least $8000 a month every month can u share how you are doing it i have been up taking it serious for about 4 months as well ive had the ebay acct for 7 years just recently taking it seriously HELP i would love to listen to anything you can tell me sincerely Thank u
Hi everyone. I think that is getting more difficult to sell on all platform with all the changes that are going on. I have a very hard time to get items to resell due that in Puerto Rico we don’t count with goodwill, garage or even estates sales. Now this days you just have to make some changes and work a bit more hard, there is a lot of competition and to top it up customer are trying to get things cheaper do to how the economy is going. I do it as a part time and is hard to get items. So who thing that this going to be easy to make it as a full time I’m sorry to said that is not the case, you have to make changes and be serious about it and one thing you have to expect that this game changes all the time and you have to make changes to make it work and work hard. And obviously all this platforms are there to make money, they are not charity, all want a piece of the cake
We sell handmade items, Etsy has been great and our Amazon orders are picking up. Ebay has been really slow for us and that's ok, it just doesn't seem to be the right place for what we make and sell.

Not the lung ita a shoulder joint. You gotta ask me these things before listing lol. Maybe why it took so long to sell 😅
Lung? Shoulder joint? What's the difference after all? LOL I'll remember that next time my friend.

I really think more people should follow a model like yours
Love this message!! You are so right! Thank you for all you do 🌹
As akways, thanks for a GREAT video.
I enjoyed the video! Agreed people make excuses that’s why they fail. It is a ton of work and yes you do have to adapt and change sometimes.
It’s a shoulder and collarbone Kevin!
One of your BEST motivational speeches ever, thanks a million 🙏🏼 Turner is so tall! 💖
growing quickly. Makes me happy/sad
Great video as always! Wanted to let you know that is not a lung, but rather a shoulder blade and surrounding bones and muscles.
Hi Kevin Love Your Videos. I See That You Are Getting Behind On Your Gifts 🎁 From Fans. Have You Ever Thought About Maybe Doing A Fan Appreciation Show Where You Reveal All Of The Gifts 🎁 On One Show? I'm Sure There Are A lot Of People Itching To See Their Reveals. I Know You Are Very Busy With All That You Have Going On. Either Way I'm Sure That You Will Get To Them When You Can. Take Care & Be Blessed From My Family To You & Yours.
I love your videos. I love your attitude! Thank you!!
This is good overall life advice!
Anatomy model is of the shoulder. Muscles and bones.
Watching now, I have to comment immediately that this is one of my favorite T-shirts. Question, what do you do with the T-shirts you wear on the show? I imagine a closet somewhere full of single stitch shirts with episode numbers stamped on the hanger 🙂
Lol. Most shirts I wear aren’t vintage. I where them multiple times. Thanks for commenting
Great honest content! Thank you always
Thanks, friend. Mindset is everything. If things are not going so well, it's just time to charge on or pivot. Victim mentality isn't going to help anyone. Of course, if people want to be that way and leave eBay it won't hurt my feelings... more room for me 😆
Those are amazing Elly cards!!!
Thanks Kevin for the messaging tip. And thank you for the S/O. Love your videos.
amazing talk brotha...motivating for sure...gl and gs
Congrats on that card sale! That’s awesome! And so much fun when you’re the seller!
Words to live by, thank you sir.
Great video! You're so successful that you should change your name to the uncommon wealth picker. 😂😂
Where there is a will there is a way! Amen Kevin!
I had to unscribe Dave, he drives me nuts lately. 🤷🏻♀️
Fantastic video...one of the best yet...
You need to keep two of every shirt to make two quilts, one for each kid. When they are older they will love and remember your passion for them and what you do for them as a dad!
I would love to make a quilt for you! I'm hoping Kevin can get his shirts to me soon!
💯 true. Thank you for your video.
Great video about being positive in all facets of life. Thanks
I am new at eBay. How do you combine shipping?
It’s a shoulder the red part are muscles 😊
lol
I am 78 year old and sale on EBay part time and mark bet when $1 & $2 thousand a month to supplement my income. Do not like EBay but we're do I go? But I am thankful for EBay.
You have so many awesome points of advice for others. I am sure you were an awesome teacher and coach. I bet you were a very popular teacher. Do you miss being a teacher? I know the industry is now so focused on teaching to pass required testing and are keeping teachers from really being teachers preparing our kids for life. So much focus on district standings so they get funding from the government.
Sadly it isn’t about that anymore. Teaching to standards would be far better than what is going on now.
@@commonwealthflipper sorry the industry has gotten to that. The teachers were once looked up to. I am 58, so I respected my teachers for sure.

Started oct 2nd. Over $5200 in sales with 46% STR, i promote everything at 5.2% nothing higher
Thanks Kevin great info and we just missed you at 100 mile yard sale we was 10 minutes behind you they said. Hope to meet you at flipcon

@@commonwealthflipper don’t know his name he had some games and toys in town as you start out town he just ask who we was we was with Rebel reseller and said he just met you and you just came through is all I know didn’t catch his name
That was a shoulder joint, unfortunately I’m very familiar with that model after smashing my clavicle into 5 pieces Mt biking 2 months ago.
Love seeing card auctions go up last second… I had a Kobe rookie lot go from $900 to $4,300 in the last 3 minutes.
Of all the resellers, you have the coolest setup.
thank you
Hey Kevin I Bought myself a Fleet Enaman but not from you sir my apologies. But does it have the same effects on my ebay sales as a Enaman from you would? Thanks for the great video.
lol Of course.
@@commonwealthflipper
OK I just wanted to make sure they all had the same effect lol! Thanks for all you do brother
By the time you give ebay and paypal their fees it is hard to come out ahead
Kevin, We started reselling on Ebay about 4 months ago. This last week we made $900+ in sales and of that, $70 was what we spent in items. There is gold at yardsales and if you have the determination, you will succeed on Ebay. It's NOT hard once you figure it out. We love your channel, hopefully we seeya at the 127 this weekend! -.James and Lesley (The Boro Pickers)
Thank you. I won't be going this year unfortunatley.
@commonwealthflipper dang ok! Well keep up the great content. You and Gary V have taught us so much these last months! Hope to meet ya soon. :)
Congrats 💪👊
i would love $900 a week im making about $1000 a month i need at least $8000 a month every month can u share how you are doing it i have been up taking it serious for about 4 months as well ive had the ebay acct for 7 years just recently taking it seriously HELP i would love to listen to anything you can tell me sincerely Thank u
Good luck!!!
