Just ordered my s22 plus today. Picking it up tomorrow , excited. Decided I don't use the s pen much or need it even so didn't want to get the ultra. But wanted the bigger size since I always switch back and forth with my 13 pro max and I wanted to keep the sizes similar. So the plus version suited me just right 👍

I have been daily using a s21+ for 6 months. S22+ seems like almost the same phone. Maybe its a good idea for phone companies to bring out a new phone every 2 years now. The yearly cycle makes no sense. I miss the days when every year software and hardware was leaping forward.
I think part of the problem for big changes is that phones these days do freaking everything and more. When I had my Palm Pre in 2010, an update for my camera brought video recording! That's big! Now it's, I have new emojis. Yay?
@@DB-lo9jp modern phones actually do less. Think about the galaxy note 4 it had the 2k screen, infrared, a heart rate monitor, the universal remote control, a SD card, removable battery, a great camera for the time, the notification light at the front, fingerprint scanner, s pen, headphones in the box, charger in the box days most of those features are gone. We pay more for less features these days. This phone was 7 years ago. I feel like it still do a job today.
@@shamarbovell4457 you are spot on mate, despite some of the new updated hardware on all these modern galaxy phones , they really are poor cousins to the older full featured galaxy phones imo . Yes, but not everyone is up to s21 yet. It's not necessary to upgrade yearly, but from comments I've read online, there are people who still use S7s S8s S9s that might want to upgrade to the most current devices.

@Netflix Entertainment I always reduce the animation speed on all my Galaxy devices, makes the phone snappier and it looks good at 120Hz. Maybe coming from a Note 20 Ultra I don't realize how bad the battery life is on the S22+. 😅 Note 20 Ultra has a much larger screen and the same battery capacity and barely lasted me half a day. Idk bro I wouldn't sell the S22+ if I were you. It's a great phone and in my opinion the best form factor of all the Plus models
@@Sheps246 lol bro the note 20 ultra is the most beautiful phone I even owned . The s21 ultra I have is ergonomic but boring . Only the camera bump makes a statement .
@Young Dab Great! There's a few things I've had to get used to. But with tech these days, it's a much more seamless transition than I was afraid of. I do miss siri, Bixby is ridiculous. But I'm still very happy with the decision to switch. It's a bit more complicated to get my phone exactly as i want, as iphone is all set up with many more defaults and less options. But in that, there are personalization options I never even considered because iphone had me plugged into a standard preset. Loving the s22+ still. :)
I just watched this on my S22 Plus and it's perfectly perfect. I have been waiting for a flat screen phone that is nearly no bezels and Samsung just did it on this phone. It's a big phone phone but not a tall one that does not stay in the pocket when you sit down.
Purchased an S22+ to replace my pixel 6 pro specifically for the flat screen and symmetrical bezels 👍 I would've taken the 22 ultra if it had the same design, curved screens are outdated imo.
@@saile_1004 That's more of a preference I would say. I love curved screens but as ultra is too bulky and has an S Pen which I would barely use I opted for s22 plus. If there was another version which had curved screen with similar specs I would have vouched for it
Kinda weird that samsung is the one always forcing an edge screen on their phone, and now they're the first to make a real bezelless phone with flat display (iphone doesnt count because of that notch and when you compare it side by side the iphone is just marginally thicker on the side and chin)
@@OD-vs1qf I shut down all non essential background access for apps &turned off always on display if I remember correctly which gave me I fiddled with phone on breaks through a whole 9 hr shift never went home with less than 65/70 % battery screen on time of at least 5 hrs
I pretty much decided on the S22+. I don't currently have a smartphone that I'm upgrading from. The S22 Ultra is just a little bigger than I'm willing to carry around. I would certainly like to have the 10x zoom that the Ultra has since I plan to use the camera heavily. But, I also have a digital SLR camera with interchangeable lens capability. So I'll be using that too.

I purchased the S22 Ultra, in Burgandy, but I agree with this review, this is a great phone and if I didn't buy the Ultra sight unseen, which I love, I definitely would have strongly considered this and this is the one I recommend.
I would be jumping on the new ultra/note bc I'm a Note user but I'm waiting to see of they'll make the next Z Fold 4 I believe a note style phone with pen slot. 🤞
@D B love my zf3 but coming from a note line I dearly miss Spen being integrated. Also battery life and cameras are bit disappointing. If Samsung can make a significant upgrade to these 3 things am all for ZF4.
No SD card is a no go for me since Samsung is moving away from that I think I will have to look elsewhere flagship specs and expanded storage used to be the norm now its just specs.
Good luck in finding phones that stick to removable batteries, headphone jacks, and SD cards. I think getting rid of theae features was a big mistake. However, I have moved on and am good with bluetooth headphones, cloud storage and waterproof phones with great batteries.
I refuse to use phones without the features I love. I stopped buying Samsung phones at the 9 series. I still have my headphone jack and expandable storage 😎. No regrets. People keep voting wrong with their wallets. Not me...
My green one arrives next week! I’m super excited to finally replace this iPhone X. I loved your intro, your energy and overall review. Instant sub! Thank you for the video.
I wished the S22+ had a MicroSD card slot and came with max 12GB of Ram as I still can’t justify upgrading from my S20+ to the S22+ or the ultra model.
Just on the video and music aspect you can't beat having that never have to worry about downloading something and you have access to tons of content at once.
Got S20+ and think it was more worth then S20 Ultra!!! Space Zoom was a fad!!! But with the S21+ the loss of the SD Card Tray and WQHD+ SCREEN RESOLUTION DISPLAY. And S21 Ultra again a ripoff and cameras had lag. And lost too much
@@ZhuXin0001 no thats pretty normal 120hz takes more battery because it has to process 2 times more hz so basically its like 120 fps in a game instead of 60 which takes alot more battery but worth it tbh
A few years ago Android OEMs were increasing RAM amount to grab customers as some consumers assumed more = better. Since every OEM raised them to 12GB there is no value in the extra cost so OEMs have price gouged to get some extra profit by reducing it down. The fact the iPhone 14 Pro will have 8GB of RAM, the same as the base S22U shows how the game has changed!
Love the size, shape, & overall look of the s22+. The Ultra is a bit too big & not as comfortable with those poky corners. I like the camera module better too on the Plus too - the cameras are better protected & it just looks nicer than the Ultra imo. I prefer flat screens as they just work better with screen protectors, & cases generally protect the sides of the screen better too. Even though I've been using a Note 9 for a long time, I actually would not miss the S pen. (I will miss the headphone jack & expandable storage though). Also better on the Plus is the speakers - much louder & fuller sounding than the Ultra. It also has a better vibration motor than the Ultra, but to be honest the vibration is kinda week on the whole line. You can barely feel a thing on the ultra, even without a case. So for me the S22+ would be the best choice if it wasn't for two things - the storage being limited to 256gb & the 1080p screen. Having gotten used to the stunning wqhd screen of my Note, I just cannot give that up. Yes I can tell the difference. I'm torn on which to compromise on. So for now I'm sticking with my Note 9, which in spite of being almost 3 years old, still gets the same battery life as the updated & optimised Ultra. I hate to think what it will get at the same age as my Note! The cameras are much better on theUltra, but in almost every other aspect that matters to me, the Ultra is actually a downgrade from my Note 9. A three year old phone....
The default animation setting looks slow. Change it to 0.5 or 0.25 will make everything super fast, trust me! I'm a fan of certain Apple products (my Macbook Air is very good) but after 2 iPhones, I'm sticking with Sammy. My Galaxy S10+ has been so solid (my kids still use my old S7 Edge and still works perfectly!). No question I'll be upgrading to the S22 plus (stylus is nice on the Ultra but prefer the form factor of the S22 Plus). Excellent review
I’ve been really obsessing over Samsung recently. I just love the way they look much more than Apple. But I’m scared that I’m gonna be missing Apple and the way that they work. Can someone give me advice?
I had only one Apple ever. A desktop Mac in 1994. A few years later I moved to MS and haven't looked back. I don't like the restrictions of Apple. And the costs. Overpriced, but top-end smartphones all are IMHO. So, look for sales. In my current sitch, Samsung had a "get a 128MB S22+ and as a Mother's Day gift we'll double your ram at no cost." Yes, Android has a considerable learning curve, but chances are you'd get used to it pretty quick and like it even better. But hey, it's just a phone 😵💫
For me its the other way around! Currently using a Galaxy Note, but I am tempted to buy an iPhone to work well with my mac It is hard, because I am in the samsung eco system as well...
I bought S22+ over a year after it was released and at first few days it was getting quite hot when I was using it, but after a couple of days it is much better now. I love that phone
I own the S22 Ultra but the Note squared shape looks pretty on paper but just makes for a totally impractical shape. The S Pen is somewhere between a gimmick to super niche. If you're not into writing it doesn't do much that's not gimmicky. Have ordered the S21 Ultra. If that's to big will exchange the S22 Ultra for S22+ and send that back.
Thx Jaime for this. My name is Raja (from India, which means king, haha) and I get sooo tired of people calling me Raha! I sometimes say, hey, I'm not Raha, haha! :) Anyhow, you spent so much time on the camera and I wish you had focused on things like wireless charging, the speed of the 45W fast charge, and bottom line, that 5G is all hype. In Southeastern North Carolina, only To-Mobile claims 5G. I tested it a few months ago, and my Verizon 4G was clearly faster. And oh, wish you mentioned the Gorilla glass too. That's about it. I just ordered an S22+ and it will take 3 weeks to come because I chose a special color, sky blue. I'm trading in my 3 year old S10, getting $300 for it. Yesterday I put the S10 in my Lexus wireless charger and gee, the phone got pretty hot. I've seen reports of even the new S 22 series getting hot during wireless charging. Samsung online had an offer for $100 worth of accessories so I asked for a dual charger and a clear case. The speaker volume of my S10 is only so-so; hope the S22+ will be louder.
Just got my S22+ after using the S10 for more than 3 years, so far my thumb's still accustomed to the position of the fingerprint sensor on the s10 lol

Its an excellent fast phone. IM testing Dex right now for a little different type of review.
Not worrying much about camera stuff, should I get this one or the fold 3 phone. I'm intrigued by the fold because this seems like a normal phone but some of the malfunctions with the screens leaned me to the S22+
As weird as it sounds I like Huaweis note features more than samsungs. You can paste images and they actually follow the text when adding new paragraphs etc which makes much more sense than how samsung does it. Weird. Last year everyone focused on the S21 Ultra or the regular S21, whereas this year everyone’s ignoring the smaller model, and the Plus model is getting more love.
No QHD+ display, no SD card slot, no charger in the box for that price is too much to ask. Competition is doing 65 to 120 watts charger included with a case, wireless charging faster than Samsung's wired charging, QHD instead of FHD and as good as a camera. It's a pass for me

Such a well organized review. I already knew I wanted this phone, this video just solidifies it.

My dear old full featured note 9 I still use , but when it finally dies , I don't see me buying another galaxy , it was all down hill after that.
Take away the S pen , and these modern galaxy's are the poor cousins in a lot of ways.
You forgot to mention the note 4 also had the 3.5 mm headphone jack, and the UV sensor to gauge the sun's intensity 😆.
Living in Australia with our sun that was a handy feature.

Is 8G of RAM enough in size and speed ?
Not too long ago high end smartphones from Samsung all had 12G RAM minimum . That S10 had a 16G RAM variant !
Look into the speed of that RAM years ago, and the processors. It’s not a numbers game anymore..
You don't need more than 8GB of RAM these days. You get around 4GB if virtual RAM too (RAM+)
Love Samsung phones. Great video, Jaime. You look handsome and rested.

I had only one Apple ever. A desktop Mac in 1994. A few years later I moved to MS and haven't looked back. I don't like the restrictions of Apple. And the costs. Overpriced, but top-end smartphones all are IMHO. So, look for sales. In my current sitch, Samsung had a "get a 128MB S22+ and as a Mother's Day gift we'll double your ram at no cost." I own the S22 Ultra but the Note squared shape looks pretty on paper but just makes for a totally impractical shape. The S Pen is somewhere between a gimmick to super niche.

I looked at the s22 & The ultra and this phone overall is the way to Go for the $$$ And Features . It feels nice & Has Everything I need , Colors are brighter . For the size , sound is phenomenal.
I'm impressed !
Love ur reviews ur videos period just so informative yet chill just an awesome time all around. ❤💯
I wanted to get it but the website and app wasn’t working. I got the S22 and it’s good enough
This phone in green is the most beautiful thing i've ever seen (phone wise). BUT, I much prefer the regular s22 size. So it'd be a no-brainer IF the battery wasn't disgustingly small. I'm someone who doesn't mind a charge during the day but please... the s22 should have ATLEAST a 4000-4200mAh battery.
The boxy shape of this phone is part of the reason I bought it. It reminds me of the S2 which I wanted so bad while at high school
Can i have your opinion on the phone? I am stuck between this and iphone 13pro max
@@costa_4764 I have been really enjoying this phone so far! It's hard to give you an opinion between this and the iPhone 13 because I have never really used iPhone before. But the camera is fantastic and it is as nice as the reviews make it sound. My main concern was battery life and it has been good, getting better gradually as the phone figures out my usage habits.
@@georgiamackay7730 how long does the battery lasts. Can you get through a day with a single charge ?
How do the s22+ compare s20 ultra? Photo sharpness and reliability?
Is the S22 (+) model more compact in size compared to the (Ultra) model?. 🤔
What about between cameras (image quality), is (Ultra) significantly better vs (+) model?.
-What about between the (S22) and (S22 +) models, is it worth paying more for the + model compared to the "starting prices" for the S22 model?.
How's the battery? I've heard bad things about battery life on the S22, which is my preferred size, that's why I'm now considering the S22+ to compensate for that drawback ☹
I'm curious to know , what processor you have?
The middle child syndrome is completely irrelevant lol because s22 has 3700 mah and that just makes me wanna go for s22 plus. So I think s22 needs some love lmao
🔝🔝🔝

Another amazing video, I got the s22 Ultra but I am considering returning it for the s22 plus, i find myself not really using the spen albeit is there if I ever need it. I just wish it offered 12 gb ram and 512gb storage option. What would you do?
The s22 plus works just as good very powerful phone
Hi, can you tell me how to switch between sims on s22+, I dont see any option to do that..
