Nicely done. Question: You used a router. Was that because of the glue instead of using the planner?

Hey John :) Yes, that was one of the reasons. Because of the glue even though I scraped it. Also the width of the board was very tight to pass it through the planer. Also I wanted to get as much of the board as possible so I wanted to avoid any snipe that could be caused by the planer.

Great video! Thanks for the clear steps. As a beginner, can I ask why you used a router flattening bit instead of a planer/thicknesser?

Hey :) thank you :) There are a few factors. I didn't want to use a planner on the glue (even though I scraped it). Also a planer leaves you with snipe (typically on the sides the planer take a little bit more of material) and that does not happen with a flattening bit. And in my case it would be very tight to pass the board through the planer as per its width :)
