The C919 cannot compete with 737s or a320s in pure specs and cost, they're more for nationalist purposes and that's why only domestic airlines will ever buy it.
why the module has similar width is because China also use the standardise space rack use on the ISS. this allow experiment rack that are designed for the ISS to be wholesale transparented into the CSS, the only modification require would be power and data bus connection. this is to allow for foreign and commerical experiment to be introduced to the CSS in the future without them needing to spend alot of time to redesign them for the CSS. another reason why the CSS look spacious is because alot of the hardware is mounted externally to reduce noise within the cabin, why ISS never do this is because the main launch, space shuttle and proton rocket has a payload bay that is just enough to fit the module (or rather, the module are design to just nicely fit them), while the Long March 5 has an expanded fairing to allow the designer to layout the equipment as they like rather than to try and fit it inside a limited payload bay. while the wolf amendment only stop NASA astronaut from cooperating with China, nothing actually stop them from "retiring" and working as a private contractor for US business or NGO from working on the CSS. some US university had already planned experiment for CSS, if they believe there is a need to have their own staff, they can always buy seat from China as private institution and hire retired US astronaut to work. this is unlikely given commerical option may appear in the near future but as it currently stand, american could visit the CSS in the capacity of "private citizen" if the law doesn't change again.
Thanks for the added info. As a Chinese, I know many Chinese researchers would love to see people work together to advance human species into the space, regardless of country or ethnicity.
1:30 To be fair, the ISS did look nice and clean and spacious like Tiangong when it first began operation. However, over years and years of adding new hardware, it eventually became cluttered as they had little room to spread out. You can see that there are plenty of tie-downs, velcro pads, and other attachment points on the walls of Tiangong for adding new items. Give it a few years, and I'll bet it'll start looking similar to the ISS.
the russians had any help designing the station it will fall out of the sky. China is all about "ready right now" Not about safety. The ccp is all about showing "face" for the party and their leaders.
No, the reason why the International Space Station is messy is that the storage space is not done well, and the Chinese space station just fills this loophole.

It is nice to know that Tiangong Space Station is fully operational with the launching of Shenzhou-15. Competitive adaptation and innovation is good in a sense because the Chinese have fired the first salvo compared to what the United States is doing and it's next iteration of a space station will give them motivation to make significant improvements compared to the ISS . The ISS was designed back in the 90s (including Congressional backlogging and Passover runs bureaucracy) pretty much and the Chinese space station was designed probably in the 2010s ( To be expandable for new modules)so their space station has a 20-year advantage over the ISS.

I hope NASA's lunar space station can be just as modern and spacious as Tiangong, because China's modules really look neat. Thanks for the informative video, there aren't many videos about Tiangong.
Likely they will because larger payload fairings are available and more to come (such as Starship). While the Destiny module looks cluttered, the Kibo module, for example, looks much cleaner. They even tested an inflatable module that was built by Bigelow Aerospace. The Destiny is called "The Lab" because it's where a lot of work is performed. There's a Canada Arm 2 control station in there, a Canada Arm 2 simulator, an Earth photography window, the exercise bike is in there, and a whole lot of experiment racks. Some are simply installed by the astronauts and scientists on the ground operate them. Others have to be performed by hand. Clean is nice but it wasn't a top concern. The cost to train and launch each astronaut is pricey. They're expected to do a lot of work. Along with their station-keeping duties, there's very little downtime. Companies and research institutions pay untold millions for those experiments to be done and performed to strict procedures. The schedule of everything they'll be doing for the 6-month (sometimes longer) duration of the mission is determined before they even launch. Along with cleaning, practicing upcoming experiment procedures, fitness, payload handling (which is a full job in and of itself), performing conferences with scientists on the ground, etc. they work well over 15 hour days.

As far as I know the ISS used to be dependent on Russia's Soyuz rocket to transport supplies. But currently with SpaceX's Falcon 9 they don't have to now.(btw I'm Chinese and I'm proud that our space station can receive international attention. Thanks for your love and support♥)
Another major milestone for China after they made their own passenger jet C919
I doubt the US will allow its own retired astronauts to consult with the Chinese space agency.
I heard that Elon couldn't even hire Chinese space engineers because of the Wolf Amendment

1:30 To be fair, the ISS did look nice and clean and spacious like Tiangong when it first began operation. You can see that there are plenty of tie-downs, velcro pads, and other attachment points on the walls of Tiangong for adding new items. Give it a few years, and I'll bet it'll start looking similar to the ISS.
