I thought everything I had learned disappeared over time because I wasn’t consistent in engaging myself with the language but boy was I wrong. I’ve been reading CNCO fanfics lately and can translate almost every sentence. This only encourages me to pick back up on learning Spanish and other languages as well.
Isis Palmer so I’m not the only one! I listen to another boy and called PRETTYMUCH and both boy bands made a song together. After I heard the song, I was like, “Lemme check out this CNCO” and I was not disappointed in the music I found by them.😁

Thanks to that I have met more people , cultures than I would if I stayed in one place all my life. I can travel without worrying because I speak all this languages. And at the same time I connect to people more if I speak in their mother tongue. Nelson Mandela said If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart.
Love Adrienne’s real talk here! She is so on point and her delivery is amazing. I can listen to her speak all day, I really value her voice. This solidified my love for this girl. Great job Adrienne!
Tom: "They need to work harder and learn to speak our language and get involved in the community" Reality: This nation was built by immigrants, who have the intellectual capacity to speak multiple languages, and are still looked down upon and discriminated against
I remember being an outcast in middle school because of my accent. The kids in my class who were from Africa would constantly get made fun of. It hurts my heart to this day remembering how my classmates were treated. I think Americans in general can do better at embracing other cultures. I'm Guyanese by the way. Before anyone comes for me...I know Africa is a continent and not a country:)
My parents are from Guyana. When I dealt with racism in middle school, I just prayed for them so that they would finally have a mind of their own rather than listen to what their racist grandparents or friends told them. It's just ignorance and a weak mind. People just need to look at facts and the fact is, just because their ancestors came here before mine, doesn't make them any more superior than mine. They just want money, power and the feeling of superiority. But what they really need is to get educated.
How could anybody be shocked? He only said what most people [ outside of California and NY] think. 🤔 He apologized because it is the PC thing to do. But TRUST ME, he meant what he said. 👍
Floridaaa girl yeah, what he said was wrong. Most immigrants speak English, and most children speak English better than their parent’s native language.
I waited on get to say anything or at least back the girls up. She's married to a white billionaire so she's not trying to ruin how the white folk look at her. After all she is one of them.
I don't think that I think she do agree with the part that they need to learn English because people will lie but I done been around alot of people who feel the same way. I say they need to learn English especially if they have children because I done had plenty of parents which their children lied to the them or cover up something because they didn't speak English so the child could tell them anything because they couldn't communicate with the teacher.
I think it’s cause people think blacks r delusional when it comes to racism until it happens to them. They were like....told y’all white folk don’t like y’all either
My parents always told me to speak Spanish at home. They knew that outside my home I will need to know English to survive like Adrienne said. Now I pass that on to my children. He made it seem like we are not teaching our kids English.
Then why Don't they? We wouldn't be having this discussion if they did. And, that still doesn't account for their families who Refuse to learn English. Go to any country where there is a common language, and you will Not hear radio or television in multiple languages. And, you will Not have important functions translated into multiple languages. I've been to many, only "tourist" areas do this. If the US being a "Melting Pot" is the reason for the necessity of multiple languages; why don't we "Press 3 for French/German/Afrikaans"? The reason is that we have so many Hispanic "immigrants" that lawmakers chose this route instead of Requiring them to speak English.
I don't know if the other shows were off this week or whatever, but I searched all over youtube, and THIS SHOW was the only one to cover and discuss this story so far. Thank you ladies!! Keep up the good work!

Beautifully said, Adrienne. Smdh... You and Jeannie are really blessed to still have you true culture. It's comments and mentalities and people like Tom Brokaw that drove and whipped and terrorized our (Black people's) culture out of us, leaving a very confused and dis-unified culture. So, never let your knowledge of YOU as a people, or your language go. Never lose you, like we lost us.
Thank you ladies, for discussing this. I myself learned english when i was in 1st grade. I was the only child with my mom, dad, just knowing spanish so i grew in a household of just spanish. It was very difficult for me to learn the language.. i was put in ESL classes and yes i did get bullied but that didnt stop me. . Now i am thankful i went through my struggles 😀 because i learned the English language on my own! Very thankful, and i am not ashamed. . Man, America! We need to unite .. brown, black, asian, white, indian, ect the list goes on.. I love you all!❤ god bless❤
I WAS RASIED TO THINK THE WAY TOM BROKAW WAS SPEAKING IN THAT CLIP. My father always told me, if I brought home a black boy as my boyfriend, I would be disowned. I now have a daughter and a son on the way, he's due in late March. They are both white, but the different between them and myself as a child is, I CELEBRATE OTHERS DIFFERENCES. I was not allowed to have black dolls, my daughter has multiple. I was not allowed to play with black kids, I do not teach my child what black skin even is. I want my children to be color blind when it comes to others exterior and love people for who they are INSIDE AND OUT without judgment or fear. I'm with A, I'm glad he said what he said, because that kind of talk is exactly whats been going on behind closed doors for decades... It's up to us and the future generations to change all of that and let that racism die with them. ✊
"I do not teach my child what black skin is...colorblind"??? Wow ... Your child is not stupid. And unless they've been diagnosed with a medical issue, they aren't colorblind. If you teach your child that there are various fruits, vegetables or flowers... you should be ecstatic to teach them that people come in the same wonderful variety. The fact that you typed those words and couldn't see what I've said for yourself might reveal an area of education your father unfortunately deprived you of
@@MPPG663 I used it as a figure of speech as in, I don't want my daughter judging other children or people in general just because there is some sort of stigma against their skin color. Clearly, you have a bit of anger in your heart for some reason to call a random stranger stupid because you merely took what I said out of context. That's another way my daughter will not be raised to treat others. Always be kind. Have a nice day. ❤
@@BrittanysMusicUtube Seriously?........When did I call you stupid? Nothing in my comment denotes anger....But its interesting that you comprehended it that way.
@@BrittanysMusicUtube And I'm well aware that you meant "colorblind" figuratively. I'm letting you know why, as a person who happens to be black, that language is inaccurate and offensive. For me and your child.
There’s nothing wrong with them speaking other languages. If I moved to another country permanently I WOULD try to become fluent in their language since I chose to live there and overall it would be easier to get around. We should continue to ask for more funding for school ESL classes. Moving to another country shouldn’t mean you have to give up your language ....bilingual is great.
1st gens almost always learn English without complications. It’s the fact that we don’t abandon our culture & native language that has people like Tom ‘uncomfortable.’
I totally agree Adrienne. I was fortune to be born in the USA. My parents weren't but they didn't speak english but eventually learned. They live here decades and done well for themselves and their children. Now all grown. Love all your responses. Thank you!
English may not be the native, but it is the main? Meaning majority of ppl here know English, but it depends where you are. i live in Miami, and I am looked down upon for not Speaking Spanish by Hispanic people who don't speak English. So, I would say there's a form of discrimination on BOTH sides.
The whole point is Majority will always have a upper point. My agreeing with you is in this sence that.. whoever you are you shouldn't frown upon people who are different from you.
@Vee A It's not "BOTH sides" when one side has all the systematic POWER and history of oppression which plays out interpersonally and structurally in our everyday lives through politics, media conditioning, and corporations. Some random Latinx people judging you in the streets of Miami doesn't affect you like the white people who call the cops on you, discriminate you from moving up at your workplace, because they don't like "those people". You have to look at it from a societal and cultural standpoint, not just random interpersonal interactions.
Y'all are so blind you can't see racism and xenophobia even in remarks like this. Sad that some Latinos don't educate themselves in topics that oppress them
Hummm he’s right though...anyone that moves to the United States needs to learn English because that’s the language we speak here. There’s nothing wrong or offensive about that.
c cc I think people are getting offended because they think it means they aren’t allowed to be here speaking Spanish or French or any other language in that case without it being unacceptable to people like Tom brokaw.... yea learning English is necessary but everyone should be able to speak their native language, without having to hush up because others around them aren’t speaking so, it’s not fair to feel like we can’t be us when other people don’t know the language we speak. Some people in America never have spoken English in their lives because they were able to find their community of Spanish speaking folk, so no in that case they never needed to learn English. So you defending this isn’t really valid.

Hahahah I loooove that!! 😂 it’s true. I work with a lot of Europeans that have had to relocate to the US for work and in their culture, they speak 2-3 languages: either English, German, Italian, French, etc.. they think it’s WEIRD that Americans only speak in English and I agree!!
I’m here for multi-lingual people!!
Danny actually I’m not white and I certainly don’t agree with racism but you can’t go to Denmark, Africa, England or Mexico and expect the people to adapt unto you because your from a different country.... most decent people have no problem with people celebrating the culture but if you call this country a melting pot that means that we all have to melt a little. When you go to another country you have to on some level blend in with that country if your going to stay there instead of thinking that country should blend in with you
K de la Cruz What’s weird is that people don’t understand how the education system and geographical location of the United States accounts for why most Americans only speak English
Adrienne! That's my girrrrrl. Go off sis! I'm African-American and Carribean. I LOVEEEE the Spanish Culture and I have Puerto Ricans in my family as well! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I want to have Adrienne's level of energy in this segment in my life, especially as an activist
adrienne’s clap was like “YALL BETTA CLAP”
Priscilla Arce ok and period’t lol 😂
Oh screw Tom Brokaw. I celebrate my half Hispanic grandchild.
She is a smart kind gorgeous young woman.
I love my grand daughter. I'm proud to be her grandmother. And for anyone who says they dont want mixed race grandchildren, then you dont deserve to have one. Leave that to those who love without bigotry.
I feel sorry for you. You can't imagine what you are missing out on...love. That is all that matters.
Love this comment💕
So sweet. Thank you for your support towards us of mixed heritage. I’m someone’s half Hispanic grandchild 💕

No, seriously. From 9th to 11th grade, I took Spanish. I thought everything I had learned disappeared over time because I wasn’t consistent in engaging myself with the language but boy was I wrong. I’ve been reading CNCO fanfics lately and can translate almost every sentence. This only encourages me to pick back up on learning Spanish and other languages as well.
CNCO the boy band? The spark of learning Spanish came back to me because of them lol
Isis Palmer so I’m not the only one! I listen to another boy and called PRETTYMUCH and both boy bands made a song together. After I heard the song, I was like, “Lemme check out this CNCO” and I was not disappointed in the music I found by them.😁
Im so proud of Adrienne
I am Ghanaian and was raised in three different countries with different cultures and languages. In each of them I have learned 2 languages and English which is required in school.
Wo ho ti s3n? 😁
Exactly you still have to know English.. in addition to your native language.
@@ellen2932 me ho ye😊
Ehh wo ho ti sen
I’m from Ghana too and it’s a perfect example because there are tonnes of languages there!!
Ga yo, ji mii!
Jeannie and Adrienne held it down!
Yes they did !!!
100% Adrienne
Tell them how we don't wanna be like them!!!❤💃💃
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 ADRI SPEAKING FACTS 👏🏼👏🏼 FINALLY! A LATINX/HISPANIC TALKING ABOUT THIS ON LIVE TELEVISION
Don't use latinx it's racist for taking Spanish and appropriating it.
G. Cruz Latino or Latina. Not LatinX 🙄
Adrienne go off sis👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻let em know!!!!
His apology is fake, and he ment what he said.
Crystal Boddie yeah, the lil bitch couldn’t even stick to his story 😂 yes for public embarrassment
Woooooh 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 thank you A, well said. I love my brown skin I don’t need to assimilate to your hate
Love Adrienne’s real talk here! She is so on point and her delivery is amazing. I can listen to her speak all day, I really value her voice. This solidified my love for this girl. Great job Adrienne!
Yaaaasss Adrienne with that drag 👍🏽
YES ADRIENNE!!! PREACH MAMA!!
Thank you Jeannie for sharing that! Very well said
Tom: "They need to work harder and learn to speak our language and get involved in the community"
Reality: This nation was built by immigrants, who have the intellectual capacity to speak multiple languages, and are still looked down upon and discriminated against
I remember being an outcast in middle school because of my accent.
Same with me. I moved from Trinidad and was treated the same way.
Hello my Caribbean family! We are different, we are beautiful....we are strong! Much love from 🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹
My parents are from Guyana.
Most americans are very close minding
Screw those people! I just LOOOVE your accent! Your people are beautiful and just a joy to be around. Tons of love from this Brazilian girl! 🇧🇷❤️
Adrienne 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 he knew exactly what he was saying and he meant it.
How could anybody be shocked? He only said what most people [ outside of California and NY] think. 🤔 He apologized because it is the PC thing to do. But TRUST ME, he meant what he said. 👍
Tyika Mitchell girl you ain’t never lie
He said nothing wrong.
Most people outside of CA and NY? Lmaoo nah. Just because you live somewhere where people think like that, doesn't mean the rest of us do.
Floridaaa girl yeah, what he said was wrong. Most immigrants speak English, and most children speak English better than their parent’s native language.
Thank you for bringing up these issues about us Hispanics! Let's continue to grow !
Tamera NEVER speaks on these topics... it's very telling.
Oh yes she did. Listen to PART 2.
Stop the bullshit
I waited on get to say anything or at least back the girls up. She's married to a white billionaire so she's not trying to ruin how the white folk look at her. After all she is one of them.
Lilman Yellow no she just has nothing to say cause she probably agrees
I don't think that I think she do agree with the part that they need to learn English because people will lie but
I done been around alot of people who feel the same way. I say they need to learn English especially if they have children because I done had plenty of parents which their children lied to the them or cover up something because they didn't speak English so the child could tell them anything because they couldn't communicate with the teacher.
I see a lot of you commenting calling out Tam for staying quiet, ya'll.....STOP TRYING TO CREATE DRAMA WHERE THERE ISN'T ANY!
Rosa Isela right!
Beautiful name 😃
Rosa Isela right ... ain nobody said nothing about Loni being quiet
I think they’re quiet because they don’t understand completely
They are quiet because Adrienne and jeannie already said it
Tamera and Loni look uninterested 😂🤔
Pooja wat is dis Behavior it’s so funny cause Tamera & Loni love their white men
I think it’s cause people think blacks r delusional when it comes to racism until it happens to them. They were like....told y’all white folk don’t like y’all either
@@MorganBee211 the stupidity jumped out

Adrienne was throwing shade the whole time yes sis!!! You could hear it as soon as she started.
My parents always told me to speak Spanish at home. They knew that outside my home I will need to know English to survive like Adrienne said. Now I pass that on to my children. He made it seem like we are not teaching our kids English.
There are many that won't even allow their kids to speak English, so don't act like there isn't a problem.
Tamera looks so uncomfortable. She always looking this way when discussing topics like this 😒
because she prefers to talk about lipstick

Y'all are trolls

Thank you for speaking on this !!!
Yasssss Adrian! Tell em girl ! I had to stop what I was doing to hit that like button! LOVE!
This is the real I love to watch.❤❤❤❤
Siii Adrienne!!! Proud of my cultural and yes Jeanie I learned English watching Barnie. I would love to learn more as well. 🇸🇻🇸🇻
I don't know if the other shows were off this week or whatever, but I searched all over youtube, and THIS SHOW was the only one to cover and discuss this story so far. Thank you ladies!! Keep up the good work!
I love you guys! This brings tears in my eyes I just wish everyone could understand and I can see this up front ! I love you guys ❤️
Love Jeannie even more here! She talks about how our parents didn’t water down our culture!! It’s true! Im proud of my culture! It made me who I am today and I am a fine, smart, well raised, level headed lady! We are all of different color but so what?! Let’s unite!
Adrienne & tam need their own show.
I kept saying that from day 1 lmao 😂
someone finally shedding some light on the Hispanic culture ❤️
And what culture does y'all have 😂😂😂😂
I WAS RASIED TO THINK THE WAY TOM BROKAW WAS SPEAKING IN THAT CLIP. ✊
@Hairless bear cub I grew up in Ohio lol
Very well said Adrienne! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
That's what I'm saying. This goes for everyone, if you move to a different country learn the language, but keep your culture alive.
1st gens almost always learn English without complications. It’s the fact that we don’t abandon our culture & native language that has people like Tom ‘uncomfortable.’
So proud of our girl Adrienne :)🙌🏼
This is such a beautiful segment
I speak English very well and Spanish!! If you don't like Spanish people too bad we have been here for a long time & WE are NOT going anywhere!!!

Damn Adrienne u make me proud!❤️✊🏾. U tell it girl.
Yessss Adrienne!!! You better tell him!!!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🙌🏾
Yes Adrienne!!! You said it perfectly I admire you!!
That can definitely be true in close communities.
I wanted to be in Loni’s head during this segment lol.
Ade, I salute you!
yesssss Adriane! you better go offff!
You guys DID assimilate so I’m not sure what you’re taking about. Assimilation doesn’t mean abandoning your heritage or roots...
Y'all are so blind you can't see racism and xenophobia even in remarks like this. Sad that some Latinos don't educate themselves in topics that oppress them
Agreed
Preach my Latin sister!!!C'est vrais💜I'm hispanic and part French living in America💜
Very well said Jeannie and Adrienne.
Go off then sis!!!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾
Mood: Adrienne 👏🏾
Well said 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
