The thing that bugs me is that he said that Hispanics should get out of their close-knit groups and learn English. Like, old man have YOU gone out of your close-knit group or learned another language or culture??
Taliyah....now that is something to think about because if they get out of their group or separate from the group they are less protected in every way. Its okay to diversify but be willing to diversify yourself Mr. Brokaw.
I think you wrong about French. I’m African and I speak French and sometimes at my job when we are speaking French we get insult from customers. They only think it sound nice when you are white.
Yolanda anani, it's not because you're black. I'm french from France and I must admit that sometimes I wanted to watch African movies in french and I cannot understand everything. African french with African accent is so cute and pleasant to the ears but I cannot understand. I don't know if you ever cane to France but you had to be here to listen and see the difference. The accent is not the same. It's like Canadian French, people from France can hardly understand. It's like American English and British English, I swear sometimes, I feel American English is like a dialects because they uses different phases and spelling which makes British English better to the ears.
Think they may be afraid that white will get lost. Idk why they would care color doesn't matter all that matters is that they are yours and they are loved.
@@tmb9213 The hilarious thing is they can freak out and stay scared all they want, but it's a waste of time and energy when they can choose to love and support instead. White people *will* be outnumbered in the US in a few years, and more and more of their children *will* marry outside of their race and give them brown grandbabies. Their freaking out about isn't going to change that.
As a Hawaiian, our entire culture was banned. The US banned our language, Hula, & customs. Locked our last Monarch in her own palace. Many traditions and customs are lost today. In Hawaii, most people are mixed. As a result of genocide and assimilation, it’s hard to get everyone on the same page when it comes to our identity and nationality.
I don’t think interracial dating is going to fix racism or mixed kids because it be you’re own people that judge you’re skin color especially in the black community we shouldn’t put down other black people because their darker or because their lighter period. I think we should fix racism in our own community then go from their.
Mela T girl shut up and learn the difference between racism and colourism , racism is believing you are superior to another race whereas colourism is discriminating someone of darker skin within the same race
Axha ‘ She might not have used the correct terminology but telling her to shut up is rude and secondly she said the black community judging someone within your race darker OR lighter. If you’re saying colorism and talking about how it’s about discrimination against someone darker within your race then you’re the stupid one. Light skin people get their own share of flack from the black community and don’t bother with that oh you’re light skin what could anybody possibly have to discriminate against you for “argument”.
Sarah Sanchez Actually in saying that Tamera was implying just that , saying at that point you’ll have to accept it because there’s too many people to make it go away and that it would somehow fix the issue.
I teared up hearing Tamera give love to her mother-in-law for loving and accepting her brown babies. My family and I are white and my brother has always been attracted to black and mixed girls. I’ll never forget how sad and disappointed I was when he told me that he wanted to bring a black girl to church with him and my grandma told him “no” because she was worried what others would think. Obviously the hypocrisy in that is outstanding. I would gladly embrace diversity in my family with open arms!
D Dame obviously. She would say she’s not racist because she does have black friends, and she doesn’t normally judge black people but she’s 83 years old and comes from a time where black people marry black people and white people marry white people. And at this point in her life, I don’t think there’s any changing her mind about that.
ᵀʰʳᵉᵉ ᵒᶠ ᵃ ᴷⁱⁿᵈ I think she phrased it that way because she’s said before how Aria is darker skinned than Aiden. But obviously the grandma loves them both equally.
P Williams He said some offensive things about Trayvon Martin and also said that black people should be celebrating July 4th even though they weren’t free at that time.
As a Mexican American myself living in the South I have felt Adrienne's pain. I can instantly tell when someone is looking down on you, they do this especially to my mom who's has brown skin.
I love u Adrianne for standing up for us!!! Thank u for being the voice for Hispanics on this show!! It’s so hurtful to see all those racism and it’s not talked about enough!!
Right. AND you can still be racists and marry outside your race. It's embedded in every one of us. Our comments when around others like us. We all do it. Racism is a system that we cannot escape because it reveals itself within so many different layers in life.
This whole thing reminds me of what just happened at Duke University with the Chinese grad students. There were complaints that they were speaking too loud in Chinese and the staff got all upset about it. 🤦🏾♀️
Neeshpeesh123 yup I heard about that! The professor who exposed the staff that didn’t want to give any opportunities to the Chinese speaking students got fired I think or was forced to step down from her position. SMH.
Tamera always has the oddest comments when discussing race, today was no exception ...she said her brown 'baby' not 'babies'?! Whats that all about?! ...and your mother in law doesn't get a cookie because she _isnt_ racist towards her grandkids and loves them! Thats what shes supposed to do!
She only mentioned the women in the family, like, wtf?? I was so weirded out by that. What about Aiden, one, her SON and, two, her father-in-law? That's so weird.
She took it in the context of being mixed. Because he wouldn't have said people (white) dont want brown babies....which they'd only get if involved with Hispanics. Which is his ignorant mindset. That's the point she was trying to make.
Back in England in secondary school, we learnt Spanish as a part of the curriculum and in England it is kind of looked down upon to only speak one language,
I think it is more or less in most of Europe...especially the younger generations. Our grandparents and maybe even parents are a different story depending when they were born, but most people speak at least 2 languages. Mostly English is one for us outside the UK and Ireland, we have to learn it in school...world language and stuff xD
Biblical Quotes that's awesome! I'm Latino and speak Spanish too tho I had a few British people try speaking Spanish to me and I didn't understand a word😅
How is it looked down upon ? I think it is somewhat lamented in English-speaking folk but also taken for granted. Few ppl in England learn a foreign tongue to the level of fluency as English is a global language.
Amaechi Jones someone who is multi lingual would be offered more jobs than a monolingual applicant , also it’s seen as impressive to be able to communicate with others
i agree! i just think she wanted to point out that the whites have to get over the fact that they will never be superior, the country will blossom and develop in a positive and colorful way due to the racial and cultural diversity
He didn’t say he didn’t want brown babies. He said that that is the attitude that is motivating some people to support certain immigration policies, he wasn’t talking about himself. If you’re going to criticize someone at least be honest.
I think she was trying to compliment her mother in law since she’s fully white and is accepting of a mixed baby vs her own parents who obviously are okay with interracial relations and mixed children
I love every moment I saw except for Tamera trying to praise again white folks for not being racist. I understand she was trying to make an example, but she’s always praising the white ppl around her for NoT bEiNg RaCisT!!!!
Lee B well it should be nice to know there are SOME GOOD WHITE PEOPLE THAT DONT CARE ABOUT SKIN COLOR WHEN ITS COMES TO LOVE ! It's more normalized talking about bad white people than it is good
I wish ppl like Tamera would stop saying that “everyone is going to be mixed” bc that isn’t true...and it perpetuates the idea that the “bad” (black) is going to be mixed with the “good” (white), which isn’t right...we need to be embracing all people of all ethnicities and backgrounds!!! Ain’t nothing wrong with being fully black or brown 🙌🏾
She's not saying that y'all. She's saying a subset of the population will inevitably be mixed, so those scared white folks need to accept it. She knows mixed people do not fix racism. She's not saying everyone has to be mixed.
Phi Thi wow you are putting a lot of words in her mouth Again, I’ve seen this idea promoted before and I don’t think it’s necessary for the reasons I’ve stated above. Mixed kids have been around for a while (even during slavery time when black American women would be raped) and it clearly hasn’t stopped racism
@Lilman Yellow I'm just the messenger. It's always been that way. I saw a Mexican girl years ago with a shirt that said "little brown girl". And on a lifetime movie,a black coach called the black girls "black" and the Hispanic girls "brown".
I felt really bad watching Adrienne become emotional while discussing this however what she said was so true. Why is being bilingual seen as a bad thing when it’s the Spanish language? It’s honestly just sad that humans can’t celebrate each other’s differences.
The same way André Johnson from blackish can draw a straight line for every topic to racism, temara can draw a straight line of every topic to her husband and kids..... It's exhausting 😒.
Go ahead Adrienne let em know I'm such a fan of you love your dress and earrings I Love the Hispanic culture they're beautiful ,wonderful, talented and creative people who don't deserve this you guys have my Love God bless y'all and the language is beautiful!
I think he was talking about people who ONLY speak spanish, not those who are bilingual. Also, I'm Black and I married an African. I also dated a different African and the African I dated before I met my ex-husband would speak with fellow Africans in his language in my home where I couldn't understand what they were saying, and a lot of immigrants and foreigners have done this consistently - which is very rude and disrespectful. The disrespect goes both ways.
Did he said that Mexicans should *only* speak English or did he said they should *also* learn English, if leaving in a English speaking country in this case America?
Im Hispanic and I dont date outside my race. I love my culture and I like go keep it that way. I wish we can also be respected and not be called racist because there are also people who dont like to mix we all just have preferences
sweetie you’re already mixed by nature. any hispanic you date is going to be mixed by nature. rethink your thought process. you’re unconsciously racist towards other nationalities cause that’s what you were taught

AND IS VERY IGNORANT CAUSE SPANISH IS ONE OF THE MOST SPOKEN LANGUAGES IN THE WORLD AND IS PART OF LATIN ROMANCE LANGUAGES JUST LIKE ITALIAN, FRENCH and PORTUGUESE
Tamera’s “brown baby” is white lmao she’s trying to make a point about her white mother in law (who raised a racist son) embracing her 75% white child. Completely missed the talking point, Tam.
Yup I'm with Adrienne if they were speaking French they wouldn't have nothing to say, and I'm dying laughing Tamera put Jannie out there a 😂😂 but I'm happy for her.
Im an interracial Mexican polish American & i am so proud of my culture on both sides. The love of my life is Nigerian. I am blessed to have a family to love & appreciate different cultures. It’s sad knowing people are Scared of speaking Spanish. I’d rather speak a romance Language than English. My babies will learn Spanish & the native language of Nigeria.
Oh, Adrienne, the grass ain't greener in France! Don't get your love for Paris to fool you. We are facing the same problem and i think i will get the same treatment if i were in the U.S. I have French citizenship, i talk perfectly French, have degrees, look random but the fact that I'm brown and my name revealed that I'm most likely muslim ... well, it's like a life sentence here. When folks, in general, are talking about assimilation it's just hidden racism. Cause No matter what we do, they will still feel frightened by our uniqueness and what makes us different from them. Anyway love Y'all
Really, like who cares, if you don’t like any other color than light all you have to do is stay with your own. The heart wants what the heart wants we love as God loves us. My daughters first two significant were Hispanic just like us and they both put hands on her she now has been with her third man for tens years and he’s black and he has never laid a hand/finger on her. It’s who treats like you deserve that counts. People just need to get their heads out their own behinds. We could make a island for all of them like the leper’s near Hawaii and then they would secluded.
I love, I mean, absolutely LOVE triggering those types of folks in public. I’ll be speaking Spanish to my mom and notice the stank eye from some person and then switch it up so fast with English and Spanish. They’re eyes almost cross. 😂
Tina.Milot You know what she meant. There’s a difference between Catalan and Latin American Spanish. But she means that when a Latino person speaks it(not all do) it’s looked down upon. And French is mostly spoken in Europe but Spanish is spoken in other places other than Europe widely.
sonrisa Verdean but that doesnt change up the fact that spanish is a european language French is also spoken all over the world like in many african countries, canada and so on but that doesnt make it a african language. What she meant to say is that when someone speaks spanish is looked down upon, but french is not. That statement of her just sounded dumb to me
@@Deandon17 stop commenting bullshit , beacuse she said when EUROPEAN speak french people see it as fancy ... and sweetheart who lied to you ??? Who the fck lied to you ? French isn't a european language , spanish isn't a european language ... wtf did u even visit the school ??? That's sooo stupis
This topic really hurts as a black women. I can imagine you all cultures feel... That why i feel like society is trying to break up black families by drug, prison and other stuff just do that they can have less of our colour. There is an agenda towards us and as Adrianne said it shows us the truth.
Tamera missed the whole point... we’re talking about racism, people looking down on latinos, black people, minorities and wanting us to « mix » to be accepted but at the same time hating us. That is actually why I am afraid of interracial marriage because a lot of time you have a minority who wants to be accepted by this majority and the sad part is that they will always look down on you and consider you as inferior and by doing that you also unconsciously believe the exact same thing. For me you have to be proud of who you are, and I can’t stand when people say color/race doesn’t matter, it actually does if it didn’t matter God would not have made us all different. Point blank period.
bsbgirl85 Hi ! I totally agree with you and it is so uncomfortable to watch honestly... I haven’t seen the movie yet, it just hit theaters in France but I sure will 😊
I do think when you move to a country that has a dominant language, it is important to speak it to co-exist. I'm not talking about to be a advanced speaker but just know some really basics phrases or words. But I would never understand why Americans look down on bilingualism/multilingualism. I think it such a beautiful thing to know a different language. I am currently trying to learn to speak 6, and it is amazing the doors you can open with that.
America in many eyes is a weird place. In Europe thank God it isn't looked down upon... people want that people speak more than one language....especially we younger generations and it really does open a lot of doors, especially in the time of globalization :)
@Lilman Yellow That is true, but back in the day they didn't really learn other languages, as far as I know. That is why you won't find many grandparents, even some parents (depending when they were born) who don't know anything about other languages besides maybe one if they moved for example from France to Germany. And maybe Russian, when it comes to ex-communist countries. But in general we in Europe communicate in English , because it is a world language and we have to learn it. But other languages we don't have to unless we choose it. But we have also multicultural countries in Europe like Germany for example. I was born there but I am originally from Croatia. And it was never a problem to be bilingual. It is an interesting thing and you can also learn some stuff from friends who are from other countries. You will rarely find someone who will tell you not to speak in your language, which apparently happens quite often in the States. Regardless of different cultures which are next to you or not. That was mainly my point, maybe I should've express it differently before. :) Good night
Tamera, thats not what he meant when he said brown. He was racially talking about Hispanics. Their "race" is brown. Just like african americans' race is black. he didnt mean the literal skin color. Thats why its important to have EDUCATED people talking about race relations. You misinform people
@@LaDimplez91 yes it is, you just proved my point and Hispanic is not an ethnicity. It just refers to people who originate from Spanish speaking countries.
@@dotydotdots2839 she can be so dense sometimes, but i try to be understanding because race is so complex. Its so arbitrary because its a social construct.
I think you are also misinforming people too though. I know you've put race in quotes but like Dialouges said there are so many races that can be Latina/Latino or Hispanic. It's not a race. And in some ways (Though Tamera was brining it WAY off topic - but there are some parents who prefer 'lighter' babies so she did have a point just not in this context maybe?) he did ALSO mean skin tone. Because with whiter passing Hispanics no-one notices, he clearly wasn't referring to them. Adrienne is tan but let's not get it twisted, there are FOUR races look it up, and with that she falls under 'white'. So in some ways he was referring to skin tone.
Adrienne that was very well said. I agree with everything she said, especially when she brought up speaking French. Although a French person speaks French in America, it isn’t seen the same way as someone speaking Spanish. Very well said Adrienne!
I don’t like how Tamera keeps mentioning that headline about how everyone is going to be mixed by the year 2050. That would contribute to the erasure of Black people, which isn’t something to celebrate. Call me extra, but I don’t like that she keeps saying that. Edit: Let me clarify...I am in no way worried and/or scared of this happening. What I’m saying & that it bothers me how she keeps on mentioning it. If you don’t understand the reasoning behind this, idk what to do tell you. If you know, you know.
At the rate of everyone being open in today's society, mixed people will become a huge part of our world. We could never erase black people or white people but scientists are saying by 2050, mixed people will be on a greater rise
This always happens when a large group of people start to migrate to the USA. It happened to Irish people, Italians, Greeks, Polish... There was a point when they werent even considered white in America. I wonder when people will realise that we can't judge people for being immigrants, because we all descend from immigrants. I dont get it.
They are ignorant and they should travel around the world and know that there are larger countries. I know 4 - 5 languages. Sorry not sorry. Okrika, Kalabari, Bahasa Melayu, Igbo, and meehhh English. oops. Sorry not sorry.
I guess the 4 language before English are african languages?? May I ask from which countries they are? I never heard about them. I know in Africa there are sooooooo many languages , and we don't really learn that much about every country and every language...even here in Europe. But hey a lot of people don't even know what language my country speaks xD
@@Niki91-HR Yes they do. It's very common to know how to speak more than one language. It's like a tradition passed down in most families. In my family, it signified that you are a grown up in the house. yap.
@@SalvatoresiaEkine Interesting. I know that in Africa in general exist many tribes, I guess it also has something to do with that that there is more than one language in an african country? Besides those languages that were brought by the colonizers. I guess I should google it more heheh

Tamera always has to water down her points when it comes to racism as if she’s going to get in trouble when she get home... you literally turned this important discussion about how your mother in law loves your child as if that’s not a normal thing. I’m so confused lol
The tried to prove that "white people don't want brown grand babies" wasn't something that was true. I don't understand why you don't like what she said. Could you please explain to me?
@@tealhiid There's no explanation. Whatever Tam says there's always a bunch of them coming after because of some comments her husband said years ago. Small minded people. Never mind
Where did she water down her point? She took a clear example of grand parents loving their grand babies despite their color. You are just trying to hate for no reason. Where's the difference between you and all those making those racist comments?
@@tealhiid The man was talking about Hispanic people specifically not biracial people or people with a brown skin tone. 2nd if her daughter is a brown baby what is her son a yellow baby? 3rd every time there is a discussion about race she can never give a poignant empathetic response she could've just given an empathetic response regarding immigrants or Hispanic instead of her normal " yes sir master I got some good white folk in my life master" response, her experience with her white in-laws is the exception not the norm and if she was truly secure in her relationship she would speak freely. Not to mention her husband is a racist and her own mother experienced discrimination from her grand parents (she could've went deep and kept it REAL). Don't get me wrong I love sister sister just like the next but sometimes people let her tv role over shadow her shallowness.
I would be PROUD if my very white children brought home a significant other of ANY color as long as my child was being treated with love, respect, and adoration. Bring on the brown babies, I’d be proud to call them mine...one day lol...my oldest is 16 and does not need to be making babies yet. Color is beautiful, let’s recognize and celebrate it!
I don't get that part where French is a classy language and spanish not. BOTH ARE EUROPEAN LANGUAGES. America doesn't stop to shock me....when I think I saw and heard everything there is always something new. I think SOME Americans should travel the world and learn to think outside a box. I wish I was born in my native country but on the other hand I think it is great to be one of those who grow bilingual. Both of my parents are Croats , my mother was a child when she moved to Germany and her German is even better than her native tongue (which is sometimes weird) and my dad went to Germany after meeting my mother. His German is not that great but he knows enough to understand other people and the people understand him. So I can say I have two native language although I don't consider myself German even I was born there. But today I just have advantages of knowing German. I live in my native country, which btw is also a touristy place, and everyone who knows German here can easily find a job in the tourist area. And English we all have to learn in school, so some of us do speak 3 languages and even more depending if you chose to learn a second foreign language in school or are learning by yourself like I am. People like this dude are just idiots in my eyes.
I had a male friend on an elevator and two Hispanic males were speaking Spanish and they were talking negative of black people. He turned around and told them in Spanish to be careful because they don't know who can speak and understand what they are saying. They were of course surprise. I stopped going to the nail salon because l couldn't understand what they were saying and l feel if they can speak English why switch to another language why you are doing my Pedicure.
I agree with Tam Tam🙌🏾🙌🏾🙏🏾👏🏾❤️Because by saying mixed, it does not always have to concern two different races, you can be 'black' or 'white' by appearance and yet be mixed. It's the mixture not only of race but also of cultures and creeds. With that comes understanding and hopefully, one day unity. 😘
It’s not about brown babies she went totally off topic. it’s about Hispanics being discriminated. Who we date and who we marry does matter don’t be foolish because it does matter in real life. .
I don't agree with everything that Tom Brokaw is saying but I do agree with him when he says don't stay isolated in your own community, assimilate and blend in and learn English. Why? Because it will be to your advantage. If Adrienne was like her father and never learned English would she have achieved just as much? Her family did assimilate and that's one of the reasons she has gotten this far, because she belongs to both the Hispanic and the American culture.
I agree with learning the language buy I agree with adrian I grew with parents who only know spanish and becuase of that I am fluent in spanish and I am very proud of my parents even though they are not fluent they have come far 😊
guadalupe martinez your parents don’t have to not speak English for you to learn Spanish. It doesn’t work like that. Even if your parents speak both, you still have a high chance of being bilingual. I know this because my parents speak both English and Creole and I do too.
How are people technically not assimilated in some way by contributing to society and holding down a job etc even if they don't speak English and didn't go to school here? Every immigrant assimilates in some ways or another. The issue at hand that people have is that they don't some how "assimilate enough" to people's liking. Adrienne went far bc she had an education or whatever she did to qualify her for positions like this not bc her father assimilated exactly. I agree that those who can learn English and go to school here should if they want to bc it opens up more opportunities. Assimilation does not guarantee success though and is always brought up when talking about other people's cultures bc racism exists well in America
I agree on everything about the racist comments. Just one point to Adrienne: Spanish does not come from America, it comes from Spain, it is as much of a European language as French is. If you spoke French, racists would still be racists. You don't need to look for anything wrong within you, the wrong is within those who judge you based on your native language, culture and race!
Adrienne mentioning that her dad doesn't speak english although he lives in America for "a very long time" isn't exactly a good comment to make here. how come you live in a country for decades and don't speak the language ?
maybe because he wasn't taught to speak english my father was born and raised in dominican republic i don't know what age he was when he came here and i think he never learned how to speak english but that because he didn't know how to read and write he understands it but doesn't speaks english he only knows how to say yes and no lol and he live here for a lot of years idk about Adrienne dad but it's not required to speak one language in America
Same way white people move to foreign countries and don’t speak their language either , white people have invaded all parts of Africa but don’t speak none of the languages so bye 👋
Axha ‘ "bye" what ? Did i say he did great with that ? No. White people immigrating to Africa and don't speak the language isn't what it's about. And it's not about being black and immigrating into a white country or the other way around. Or as a white person immigrating into a white's country and same with black into black. Doesn't change the fact the a person lives in a foreign country for decades and doesn't speak the language. That's bad. No matter who it is or where he comes from.
Ramona Javier maybe he wasn't taught. But that's kinda a 50/50 way. I'm pretty sure that there are a lot of ways and possibilities to learn a language. You have to want it. And to say that someone wasn't taught a language living in the country where he lives isn't necessarily an argument for me
He didn't say it was degrading. I don't have a problem with people speaking different languages. I have a problem when they are talking about you in public in your present. Like at Asian nail shops. I had a friend in an elevator and 2 Hispanic guys were talking about black people. He turned to them to let them know he understood what they were saying.
I love Adrienne but she needs to work on her vocabulary. She made up some words and she uses noises/grunts to express herself. She needs to step it up and represent las latinas as eloquent ladies. Again no hate just constructive criticism.
Axha ‘ I agree you don’t have to use a lot of big words but you do need to use words that exist. “Degrative” is not a word. She also used noises instead of actual words to express herself. Lastly, she quit mid sentence because she couldn’t find the words she needed to complete her thought. Big words aren’t needed but noises and made up words aren’t a good look.
Ohhh good lord I was just waiting for tamera and her family stories as always. So predictable! She can’t for once just stick to the topic and speak her mind. It’s always about Adam and/or her kids and it doesn’t even matter what the topic is. You can literally talk about anything and she will find a way to mention her kids and Adam. It’s ridiculous. Oh and your mother in-law should of course love her grandchildren no matter what skin color. It’s the child of her child, nothing more normal than this.
I am shocked to hear so much hate in America over stupidities! The spanish language has to be one of the most beautiful languages in the world and I live in Canada, I speak English, French, Armenian, and I understand Arabic, and I also speak Spanish since in our city it was a necessity to take 3 years of Spanish classes minimum in order to graduate high school and that's a beautiful thing.. if anything we can laugh at the ignorant people who just look and sound so stupid and ugly.. I loved how each of them commented on the matter everythign was very well said good job girls
The problem isn’t speaking other languages. The problem is NOT knowing how to speak English in this country. My parents are immigrants and learned English within a year of coming here and went to get their PHDs in a language they just learned. Stop making excuses.
I love you Adrienne always representing our LATINO CULTURE! You all are the best, Jeannie, Tamara, Loni, Adrienne! Grateful that the Real time show exists ❤️❤️
I feel like in certain situations it would be helpful if you did speak English. If you're talking to friends or family and minding your business then yes, you can speak whatever language you want. But if you're a cab/uber/lyft driver, that can be scary and inconvenient if you're going the wrong way and can't communicate with me. If you work at a store, a majority of your customers are gonna be English speakers so it would be better if you did too. You don't have to abandon your roots or your culture, it's just learning another language. If I move to France and I wanna make it and get around well, odds are I'm gonna have to learn French to some degree. I don't have a problem with non-English speakers at all, I'm just saying with you moving to a country where the dominant language is English, I think it would be easier for you if you did learn English. Tom's comments were absolutely wrong and offensive and I'm not defending him.
I’m not Hispanic I’m black and I can speak Spanish (im still learning) but I love being bilingual it’s the best thing I could’ve ever done for myself was learn another language I’m glad I did!
I am mixed and I HATE when people say, everyone being mixed will fix racism.Black, white, brown, yellow and mixed everyone has the right to exist. Different races ISN'T the problem, RACISM is.
He is right. Nobody says you can’t speak your native tongue but when you’re in areas of commerce and education it might behoove you to communicate in the commonly spoken language. Adrienne’s rebuttal was cringeworthy!
The thing that bugs me is that he said that Hispanics should get out of their close-knit groups and learn English. Like, old man have YOU gone out of your close-knit group or learned another language or culture??

I agree ... but she said that when EUROPEAN speak it it seems fancy
.... she's right
That’s because you’re black hunny if it were a white European speaking french they would be admired
Yolanda Anani girl you sound fancy. Screw those people.
Yeah because French from a white person is European and fancy, and French from a black person is African and unwanted

Light skin people get their own share of flack from the black community and don’t bother with that oh you’re light skin what could anybody possibly have to discriminate against you for “argument”.

Back in England in secondary school, we learnt Spanish as a part of the curriculum and in England it is kind of looked down upon to only speak one language,

Not to mention her husband is a racist and her own mother experienced discrimination from her grand parents (she could've went deep and kept it REAL). Don't get me wrong I love sister sister just like the next but sometimes people let her tv role over shadow her shallowness.
So touched by this specific topic.
Adrienne you can't believe how people view Latinos think about how blacks are treated everyday.
Crystal Boddie we are in the same boat as Latinas so we shouldn’t really compare struggles
@@rebeccalove2065 thank you let her know👏👌
@@rebeccalove2065 If I choose to compare struggles I can do so it's a matter of my opinion.
@@stephaniegarcia801 You don't have to tell me a dam thing when you have gone through the struggle you would understand.
It's my opinion.
FYI Tom Brokaw is a liberal democrat. #maga😂😂😂
No shade, but Tamera's opinions are quite basic and she repeats the same things 😂😂❤
BiblicalBhadieee because she don’t wanna get a whooping when she get home
Paula Chea thank you! Nobody wants the criticism
This right here is looking at the bigger picture in general.
Adrienne mentioning that her dad doesn't speak english although he lives in America for "a very long time" isn't exactly a good comment to make here.
how come you live in a country for decades and don't speak the language ?
anna 😂
maybe because he wasn't taught to speak english my father was born and raised in dominican republic i don't know what age he was when he came here and i think he never learned how to speak english but that because he didn't know how to read and write he understands it but doesn't speaks english he only knows how to say yes and no lol and he live here for a lot of years idk about Adrienne dad but it's not required to speak one language in America
MariRamirez you don’t need to say a bunch of big words to be intelligent, I think Adrienne handled the topic well and was well spoken
Well she didnt go to college so this is what we're going to get from her lol
She does amazing, public speaking isn't easy. Cheer don't tear.
Thank you!! Degrative. The hell is that.
It's okay to be bilingual, it's not okay speak Spanish or French and refuse speak English when you live in THIS country
Im confused as to why Adriennes dad hasn't attempted to learned English though?
Never will I deny my Haitian Blood. Haitian creole & Spanish& English!!!
Wait.... the grandma is being praised for accepting and loving her grandchild who’s mixed?
He is right. Nobody says you can’t speak your native tongue but when you’re in areas of commerce and education it might behoove you to communicate in the commonly spoken language. Adrienne’s rebuttal was cringeworthy!
While I respect cultural differences and teach my kids to do the same .. I dont see color and neither do my children we see people period .
