The date must be incorrect. On December 15, 1965 I was at Philharmonic Hall, where I saw Leonard Bernstein conduct the NY Phil in Mahler's 8th. The night before I was at the Met for a Tebaldi/Corelli "Boheme. Unlikely that Corelli would have performed two days in a row. Actually, on my comment in your posting of the 1/12/65 (12/1/65 in U.S.) "Fanciulla" I have a fuller listing of what I saw that month, which includes five Corelli performances. I can't imagine I would have missed a concert with Corelli and Kirsten.

@@leslieepstein4700 you're right, I gave the wrong day, sorry, it was actually December 12, 1965. Still missed it? :S

Yes, I must have missed it. I checked my records (as you may know if you've read my book, I keep records of every performance I've seen) and I have nothing for December 12. I saw Franco in six performances of three operas at the Met in December 1965. (He always did three roles every season he was at the Met, but rarely could you catch them all in one month.) I believe the only time I saw him at Philharmonic Hall was a few years later when he did a concert with Caballe and Bonaldo Gaiotti. It's doubtful I didn't know about this concert. Do you know if it was a full concert with them or perhaps there were other artists and this was the only number they performed. If they only did one number from an opera I'd seen Franco do numerous times it might explain my absence.

@@leslieepstein4700 It was a proper (benefit) concert with just the two of them, organized by the Beth El Community Center. Thankfully the full recording exists, Roberta Huebner published the rest of the numbers featuring Corelli on her channel, collected in this playlist: ruclips.net/p/PLDI4sEeiZfgKBpWTRcs-bfxBk1Rgd-d1D
I don't think the missing parts with Kirsten's solo arias are on RUclips, but the concert was also published on vinyl by the Historical Recording Enterprises (HRE 432-1) You can find a copy on Discogs.
      The full program:
Macbeth - Ah, la paterna mano (C)
Louise - Depuis le jour (K)
      Tosca - Recondita armonia (C)
      Tosca - Vissi d’arte (K)
      Tosca - duetto Atto III (C, K)
La fanciulla del West - Ch’ella mi creda (C)
Adriana Lecouvreur - Io son l’umile ancella (K)
La bohème - Che gelida manina! (C)
La bohème - Sì. Mi chiamano Mimì (K)
      La bohème - O soave fanciulla (C, K)

At 12 years old I walked several miles to see Kirsten in concert. I only knew her encore, Musetta's Waltz. At 19 I saw Corelli in Fanciulla. Then saw him 3 more times. Voice from Heaven!!

Both of these artists are just fantastic. Dorothy isn’t always remembered as much as others, but she was SO strong with great technique and emotion. And Corelli is sublime as usual.❤🎉❤
