Cymbals always sound better when the logo is facing the player, obviously.
They sound always better when there is no logos.
I want every piece of gear I hear this guy play. I'm starting to suspect it's not the gear that's doing it.
Carter just showing off his finger chops in this one
I swear this dudes drums sound so good its literally ASMR to my ears like i could go to bed with him playing in the background
Was thinking the same thing
With earphones...
I agree with you 😁 ASMR for me as well
That's the kind of touch you use to demo cymbals. Such finesse. I could watch your one hand on a cymbal all day.
Ideal sounds, ideal drummer.
Ooooh baby, haven't even watched the video and I know this gonna be good
Them rides are chocolatey af
Incredible cymbals.
That 20 May be the most incredible cymbal I’ve ever heard! Played together, they may be the best set I’ve ever heard..
These all sound fantastic, particularly the 22". I am surprised at the brightness coming through, like a warm, soft glow. I gravitate towards dark, brooding cymbals but these have opened my eyes. Thanks.
yup. Amazing
Watching Carter play soothes my OCD, it’s just that perfect 👌
I can't believe how buttery and smooth these cymbals are!...It's almost as if someone turned down the treble in the mix...Not suggesting that's what happened...That's just how it sounds.
that bass drum sounds soo good.
An absolutely beautiful insight into a fantastic new series, actually really enjoying the new visuals on the cymbal itself too.
Congrats on these! They sound fantastic, as anticipated.
you're playing is always mesmerizing. perfect demo
Oh man ... stunning (playing, cymbals, tuning) .. as ever!!!!
Cymbals AND drums sound great!!
Those cymbals sound perfect
stellar tones and playing
These are great...perfect pitch intervals for a 2 cymbal set-up. The more I watch your videos the more I realize less is more when the instruments are great.
Oh do I love the sound of these! And great playing by the way! Very tasteful and great touch! Just got my Gretsch 12, 14, 20 kit and time for some cymbals!! May have already found them!
Can’t wait to play / record with them. Sounds great man.!
I bought the 22 ride after watching this video! Been hunting for a specific sound for while now. Thin, hand hammered, traditional finish, the perfect amount of wash, nice stick clarity, a smooth bright bell that activates the whole cymbal and the perfect amount of decay. Just about every manufacturer has one of their premium lines that have a similar quality.... Zildjian has the K Constinople Meinl has the Byzance foundry reserve and sabian...well Sabian was never on my radar 😂. But when I started watching you play Istanbul Agop I heard the sound I've been looking for in the other manufacturers. This 22 Traditional jazz ride is the one that caught my ear the most in their line. I pulled the trigger and it has been everything I have wanted out of a ride for some time! I plan on buying many more Istanbul Agop Cymbals in the future!
That's a useful comparison. I'm very much thinking of ordering the 22" myself. Thanks man
(Sabian artisan light similar ball park, fyi)
I don't disagree though!
Istanbul is the best bro, I’m gonna get these cymbals when I grow up
The stick attack looks like these have a nice feel to play.
I like the 'turn signal sound ' on the Right Ride Cymbal. Outstanding.
Tony Williams vibes from these for sure. stunning instruments
Those hats are extra crispy. Colonel sanders would be proud!
This demo is just wonderful.
Wow, great showcase Carter! these are very pleasing with enough oomph for a stage.. one day
excellent demo and playing- THANK YOU
he makes the whole stuff sing: great drumming.
Love them all!
5:08 love the tony williams quote! One of the best licks in drumming history! Cymbals sound nice although I'm a Kcon guy, but these have a nice sparkle. The drums sound like the old thin ply ludwigs and I've always love those drums! I also like this player.
one day i'll have enough money to go inside a store just to look at these cymbals
What a snare sound Men!? Beautiful
That first 22" is the truth
I own the 22” and waiting on my 20” to be delivered. Got them both because of this video.
Got my 20”. They sound perfect together. Need a 24” not sure which series
Those cymbals are great but that floor tom...Good God!! FTW
Oooohhhh those hats. I've been looking for some slightly sloshy, kinda crunchy and light hats that are also quick enough to use for kinda splashy garage rock/punk type stuff. Not a lot of hats have that vibe but these sound right on the money.
Stunning! Cheers Liam🏴🇺🇸🥁🔥👍
These cymbals are beautiful sheeeesh!!
These sound fantastic
I want a pack with those 3 cymbals 😍
Just wonderful! 👌👌👌
After hearing these and other demos I might consider AGOP! 😍
Gorgeous cymbals
The Bells are Outstanding
... as always brilliant technique ... mixed with acoustic illusion...
I just love the sound of Istanbuls Agop cymbals. I wish the bells rang more but it's a sacrifice I'd gladly make to own them.
I believe the shape of the cymbal (taper, bow, size of bell, etc.) has more to do with the sound of the bell than the manufacturer e.g. flat ride = no bell; "mega-bell" type rides = outsized bell relative to the rest of the instrument. My guess is you can find other Istanbul Agop cymbals where the bells ring more to your ears.
Wonderful! Hey Carter, what about a video talking about and showing your journey in Jazz? Maybe some insight into Tony Williams and how you interpret playing jazz with a matched grip?
Just got a 22” today. Agop hit a home run with these.
Welp! That was absolutely outrageous. Carter should be the sole person responsible for doing a demo on any and all cymbals from here on out...like all cymbals...only Carter...you can thank me later...you’re welcome.
Interesting. I was browsing the net for a new 20" jazz ride to go with my Kcon then came a video from Istanbul Agop announcing this serie. Liked the sound but couldnt help thinking : "i wonder how those cymbals sound when properly played by drummer with a great touch like Carter " then 1 hour after came this video. I think there is a clear pattern here leading me to buy the 20". No complaints here.
Such a sharp and tight attack and smooth resonance/decay.
But you're just showing off.
Fine by me :)
Awesome stuff.
A very classy performance 👍💪👏
that snare.... amazing
Q locura lo q suena todo ese set 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
The ride sound is so good..
It´s always so cool to copy little frases from your videos
YESS!!!!
Ooo I thought these were going up tomorrow.
Lovely cymbals & i own many Istanbuls , but i gotta say , Meinl Byzance Factory Reserve r some of my favourite cymbals & the 21" Polyphonic is a delightful beauty too 😀
I just ordered me a set. Waiting on another batch to come in at Memphis Drum Shop
Magic touch.
Yes!
I think the cymbals fell in love with you.
Your hired !
These are dope. Those hi hats are doing it for me in a big way. Who do I need to send my bank deets to?
hell yeah brro!!!!
so i have to buy it now , thanls for the confirmation
An inspiration
The ideal ride sound
Sweet sounds as usual. Do you mind if I ask: have you always played with a French-esque grip or did that evolve over time?
Hella demo!
Thanks for sharing..
Maybe my favourite cymbals made today
Incredible playing man awesome!!!! Your drums sound soooo good how do you have them micd up? I don't see mics but the sound is amazing? Once again beautiful playing!!!!
Came for the cymbals, stayed for the groove
Nice.
Me encantaria tener tu tecnica hermano, brutal
Super pinky super sound
Carter is the reason I own some Istanbul cymbals, they are nice. Carter is also the main reason I think I suck at drums. :-)
Me too. I found a nice 20” ride on Craigslist but then I had to buy the 30th anniversary 22” because of Carter. Incredible cymbal but I paid more for it than I did for my entire first kit. Lol. This guy has probably the best touch on the drumset I’ve ever heard. He’s like the spawn of Tony Williams and Jim Keltner. I’m flabbergasted when I watch his vids.
Sweet Jesus
3:12 Bill Bruford !
why do I like your play? Cuz you had a "Mood Sound"
never heard of it from the others..
you got a your own sound, I want to buy your play and Sound.
Almost!
spicyy
..................no quite my tempo.....
Just kidding! As always, superb demo Carter!
dude can you please start posting practice clips. I could watch you play for hours
Butter
great
That 22 is so smokey it gave me cancer.
You made 'em motor...
Tricky !
Do you always plays match grip by holding sticks on the very end? I used to play like that, but i always hear thats would be not apropriate for using rebound. Seems to work well to you. Maybe its promark sticks that are usually thicker.
You need to make your stage name Carter “Clean” McLean
Salut Carter ! baisse un peu le 100 htz sur ton générale, c'est pénible, surtout avec le floor tom. Merci pour tes vidéo !
I could play like that too, if I were as good as he is.
