      Andrew Cornelio Exactly!! The only reason English is the most popular is because the British owned the U.S. and it stayed like that over the years. As a native Spanish speaker, it is frustrating what this white lady did & I’m glad I’ve never experienced this & facts are that Spanish is the 2nd most spoken language in the U.S. after English. It’s ridiculous the things you witness in this country.

      You are absolutely correct. Spanish is considered a European language, not South American. The Europeans indeed forced those who lived in the South American countries to speak that language. People from South America also don't seem to know their own history, just as much as North Americans.

      @Valentina Worldwide Hispanics are mixed race. Some are fully while. Some are fully Indigenous (Native to the continent of America) and many are mixed in different percentages with indigenous and white. It makes sense that Hispanics would identify with Native Americans. And I can understand people confusing Native Americans of the US with Puerto Ricans as they are probably thinking of the Puerto Ricans who are mixed or non-white. These would be of indigenous descent and therefore both groups would share traits. Ancestry.com groups Native Americans as one group. These groups of people are from the continent of america and share traits in the same way French people who are European would share traits with Norwegians who are also European while also being different. Yet both are 'white'.

      To be honest its normal for people to speak more than one language, most of the world does. High intelligence is a sign of someone learning a completely different language that doesn't even have to relate to their culture or upbringing. Now those people deserve props, thats major hard and is definitely dedicated to motivation. Someone born into a culture and speaking the language of a place they are living or raised, is not that big of a deal.

    I think it’s important to point out that the United States does not have an “official” language.. everyone can speak whatever language they want. To be speak English isn’t to be “american”

  • @BeautifulDreamerK
    @BeautifulDreamerK 5 лет назад +13

    Also- language Linda is trippin. In every country all over the world (besides MURICA), everyone speaks AT LEAST 2 languages. Europeans speak other languages besides English. Asians, Hispanics, middle eastern cultures speak their mother tongue and English. America is the only place where it’s more than acceptable to just know one language 🤦🏻‍♀️

      Yes , i'm french and here, a lot of us speaks at least 2 languages (french and english) because besides France, Quebec (Canada) and the French Island nobody in the world speak french so we have to speak another language for when we work or when we travel and in the south of France we also learn Italian and spanish because we are near Italia and Spain !

      Speaking as an American who lives in Spain, that's not entirely true, as a lot of Europeans only speak one language. That being said, the US is one of the few countries where it seems like speaking more than one language is supposed to be something shameful. In the US, it's common for immigrant parents to speak more than one language, but their kids only speak English. In Europe, it's almost unheard of for children of immigrants to not speak at least 2-3 languages.

    • @Niki91-HR
      @Niki91-HR 5 лет назад +1

      That is true...especially the younger generation here in Europe speaks their native language plus English ( which we kind of have to learn, since it is a world language) and mostly people take a 3rd language.
      I for exampla am Croatian who was born in Germany so I consider these two languages as my native languages and then I learnt English in school...had even French for 4 years but sadly didn't continue and forgot everything and now I am learning Spanish on my own :) ( I think I will try to revive my French afterwards).
      And people really appreciate if you know several languages. Also it is good for work, especially if you live in touristy places like I am.
      A lot of parents , especially in my country Croatia, tell their kids to learn at least 2 languages in school English + German, Italian, French and maybe Spanish if they have it in the school program.

    Its one of the things I find most frustrating working in retail. We get all kinds of disgusting comments from customers about other customers or about some of our coworkers, and it is absolutely disgusting. We're in a position where we can't give them a piece of our minds, but we have to find ways to show them we do not agree and do not think its ok. Its incredibly frustrating.

    Language Linda was obviously raised in thinking that this country should preserve what the European settlers wanted when they started purging this land; a Europe spin-off. They hate that the plan went "awry" thus they "want they're country back" after working to take this country from people who were here because they simply lived here, including Spanish people.

    Colorado is by far one of the most racist places I’ve experienced. I am bi-racial and although never been called any racist slurs to my face I’ve witnessed encounters where people are flashing around the “native” stickers as if they own Colorado. I may agree that some people that have arrived in Colorado initially were here for the weed but are now homeless, but there are also others that have sacrificed their world to give their families a better life. I’m extremely proud to be both white and Hispanic!! And will stick up for both because THIS IS AMERICA AND IT IS MY MORAL DUTY TO STEP UP AND DEFEND MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS ❤️
