I hope they cut another album or two with Nick he could never be replaced. I’m a huge QOTSA fan, seen them live several times including an acoustic show, their music was pure rock and roll when he was in the band.
That little moment at the beginning where josh has to find the right key to sing in as he’s starting the song... SO adorable!! I look up to this mans musical ability so much and yet he still makes the same little mistakes I do!

It's not acoustic though lol. Just more mellow with no drums. Almost sounds like their electric guitars and bass are direct into the mixing board, or maybe small cheap amps.

Nick gave them just the edge they needed to literally appeal to every fan of rock. I think it took them awhile to find their sound after he got fired but Like Clockwork was perfect.
Keep in mind he beat up his girlfriend. But yeah, he was a great bassist :)

Like Clockwork is like their 4th or 5th best album. Definitely not perfect.
I thought lullabies and era were really amazing imo their best albums

It’s been a very long time since ‘watching’ this performance here. Gotta say though, I strongly agree with the different ones on here commenting on how friggin’ cool the track ‘Hangin’ Tree’ sounds in this performance. And idk, not too sure why it sounds so much different in this video vs. any of the other audio and/or video recordings I’ve ever come across for this set. U know, I wanna say it’s due to whoever posted this up might’ve just tweaked with the EQ settings a bit in adding some bass/treble etc here/there, take some away from here/there, maybe push the fader on some notes and/or vox etc etc. Idk, who knows?! But there’s definitely something that’s been adjusted here to this particular recording, no doubt. Either way, it doesn’t really matter. What does matter is that this certain recording is a gem above the rest!

Aw man, I should have been more specific. I was talking about Hanging Tree. The studio edit is completely different (and a bit obnoxious). Bizarre. I love the acoustic 100 times more. :)
