What is not bricks is cold building . Try insulation boards. Good this 2 faces foil .the foil on the wall and outside this sponge face . Would warm ur house . Trust me
I used some foam insulated reflective foil bought from Amazon . It is self adhesive so a little trickier to fit - I removed the radiators during a boiler swap so fitting was relatively straightforward - it's good to know what savings you are making by fitting this.
All done, easy peasy following your video. bought the slightly bigger pack (5 sheets) and managed to do all radiators on external walls, and most in internal too….9 in total. @@FixitwithFowler
It all depends on how you install the radflek behind the radiator. Mine covers all of the radiator top to bottom but not the last 10cm on each side of the radiator, so about 80% is covered. You can, however, add longer supports so that the radflek cover the entire area of the radiator, but i didn't want to see the radflek.
My foil is seen on both lateral sides of heater . I don't care at all . Is shiny make it more 👀 catching 😉🙃 . Anything to save the expensive heating bill 🙏. 😡. Especially in this 🇬🇧 weather 🙈
Mine do not have brackets. They are old cast iron. Hot water heated radiators. Old plaster walls. Need something behind them. Lose so much heat. And money
Hi, i only installed the radflek behind radiators on external walls and have noticed a difference. If you have solid internal walls, you may consider doing those aswell.
@fionanixon8346 Thanks for your nice comment 👍. I try to make my videos informative without too much waffle! Can i ask if you have subscribed? I have loads of how to/diy videos on my channel!
Could you not extend the amount of plastic that hangs over the mounting bracket and then cut some strips to match the width remaining on the sides without the Raffle on?
How would you manage the radflek install if you have radiator covers? We moved into a house with the covers and it would be a relatively large redecorating job to remove them all (walls not finished/painted behind the covers and carpet fitted after the covers were installed).
Hi, our house was built in the 60s, and the insulation values aren't great. Personally, I have noticed a difference in my house, and you only need to fit them on external walls. amzn.to/47EH00O
I think so I put these in my parent's house years ago. They're meant to take a few years to pay for themselves ordinarily but they already paid for themselves before the recent issues If you've got a low flow temperature heatpump they're not that good but if you're the average person with a combi boiler, these are good They're meant for external walls but I had enough spare that I figured that I may as well pop it on the internal ones too. I don't think I'd get much benefit from the internal ones but hey it makes use of what I had spare
@@FixitwithFowler Nw. I think these will eventually be useless for me, largely because I want to upgrade my microbore piping and get Jaga Strada radiators. That's when I'll use low flow temps of 30C hopefully Until then however, the radflek is decent
This isn’t going to work as well as you think. Radiators emit most of the heat via convection and anything that reduces the air flow will reduce the efficiency. While it will cause a small amount of heat to be reflected it won’t recover a vast amount of heat.
Have you seen the data on the website? It doesn't reduce the airflow/convection as it sits between the radiator and the wall and is only 1mm thick. The design stops heat from being absorbed into the wall behind as per the thermal images rarther than increasing the radiator output.
Explanation is clear . The wall not to eat the heat . True .heater are below the windows where is most coldest walls and we need to warm places not that walls . I will put an insulation board before and after this foil 😉
It depends on your brackets, but on most modern radiators, the radflek sits about 10 cm in from each side and about the same from the top. Obviously, the bigger the radiator, the higher the percentage of the wall is covered, and in this case, it covers over 75% of the wall.
Our radiators are over 20 years old and we cut some 15mm diameter plastic pipe and cut a slit in the pipe which slotted over the brackets enabling the Radclips to rest on top of the plastic pipe and therefore hiring the Radfleck up behind the radiator.
Hi, that is a brilliant solution for older radiators. I have some older radiators, and i ended up placing some wood on the existing brackets to lift the Radflek. Have you noticed a difference since fitting the Radflek?
@@FixitwithFowler Than you for your reply. We are just in the process of fitting the Radfleck, we have done two radiators so far but we are hopeful that we will see a benefit. We also cut two strips 120mm wide and fitted them to both ends of the Radclips so that they hung at the other sides of the plastic pipe so the Radfleck covers a substantial part of the radiator.
Hi, the more coverage, the better, especially on bigger radiators. Fortunately for me, the radiator brackets need the end of the radiators, so i didn't need to add any more Radflek. Let me know if you're successful!
No, it's not. See the website www.radflek.com/what-is-radflek/ to get all the technical details, and once you have that knowledge, you will realise that tin foil is nothing like radflek.
Can you use these for radiators on internal walls as well? I live in a terraced house so share a thick wall with the neighbours and some of my radiators are on this wall. Thanks for the video.
Got this on our external walled radiators really does work well. cold wall warm room jobs a good n
Thanks for your comment, im really pleased with the radfleck reflectors.
Thank you! Your video is 10 times better than Radflek's own video.
Wow, thanks! I really appreciate your comment!
My house is so cold I’d probably need to cover the entire wall will it. Thanks for the Radflek review.
These radflex panels do make a difference. Thanks for your comment

Yeah, i think it all achieves the same sort of savings. These are just really easy to retrofit.
Simple and clear instructions. Thanks!
Hi, no problem. Hopefully you will find them as beneficial as i have, don't forget you only need them on external walls
Thank you! Very easy to follow video, ordered via your link, just about to install mine.

@user-qy3df4nw9q That's brilliant 👏, hopefully, you will feel the difference!
But half the radiator isn't covered, so how's that going to work with half the heat vanishing into the wall?

is it ok to put behind electric oil filled radiators

Another great video, keep up the good work!
Cheers for your comment!
I did put one behind the radiator. Dose work 👍 . Thnks for sharing
I'm glad it worked. Thanks for your comment!
So looking at the plastic clips or brackets i guess they are heat resistance as very close to the hot radiator
Yes, they are. Bear in mind that radiators only reach around 60°. Otherwise, they would burn you to touch.
Thanks that was really helpful and informative - really clear instructions and lovely smile to round it all off too 👍
Hi, thanks for your comment! I'm glad you found it useful and informative. Check out my other videos for more smiles 😃 😊
How does this differ from the similar product with silver foil and bubbles please? Is it any more efficient?
Yees it is, all the technical details are on radflek website
Thanks for the help.
I installed these on all my radiators on external walls last winter (2023), and it definitely made a difference.
Just placed an order for one. Hope it helps after installing though. Thanx.
I think they do make a difference. Thanks for your comment!
will it still benefit from using on an internal wall radiator as well
Yes, it still makes a difference even on internal walls. Thanks for your comment!
Should I only add these to radiators on external walls please?

Yes, you could extend the plastic if you wanted, but i didn't want to see the radflek behind the radiator.
Our radiators are quite long, one of them must be nearly 2 metres. How long are the sheets ?
Does the long radiator have a bracket in the middle? If so, you can just use 2 sheets!
@@FixitwithFowler I didn't think to look ! Just checked, you're right. That's the second great bit of advice from you in a week. Thanks!

Unfortunately i dont think you can use them. The radflek sheets need to sit between the radiator to reflect the heat into the room.
Can you not clip the included plastic bracket, onto the top thin metal strip of the radiator?
Hi, i think you would struggle with the radflek brackets, but you could always use a different type of bracket to hold the radflek sheet!
Was a great tutorial…thanks 👍
Hi, i'm glad you found the radflek video useful!
What about my column radiators will it not look unsightly?
Yeah, it's probably not the best thing for column radiators but works well on standard radiators!
I used foil insulated wooden floor membrane
Yes that would work. Im not sire it will be as good insulation value as these but so long as it does the job!
Where to get brackets i see many use double sided tape
Hi, the brackets come in the radflek kit! Hope that helps
Do they really work? Was thinking of buying some and that’s what brought me here.
