- The A-10 in War Thunder is absolutely INSANE! With one of the biggest payloads in the entire game and that includes long range bombers this Ground Attacker is one of the most iconic aircraft in all of history!
The A-10 is armed with a 30mm GAU-8 cannon and in this video I use it exclusively in the first chapter for a complete Brrrrrrrt montage. In the second half I take to the skies with Maverick Missiles to wreck havoc on my enemies!
This video is JUST A-10 footage. No tank gameplay, no filler... just complete destruction!

I know that there are stories of the A10 shrugging of fa comical amount of damage IRLB, and many of those stories are true, the A10 has been known to fly home, missing a wing and one of it's engines. BUT, there is a reason that they are really only deployed AFTER air dominance is achieved.
OR when ground forces need backup.

they are meant to survive manpads and hmg fire, not dedicated sam batteries or radar guided cannons
True story saw a documentary way back in early 2000 on Discovery Channel during the Iraq way. They said it was scary and yes a damaged one made it back to base
The a10 had the highest casualty and loss rate of any coalition aircraft in the gulf war. With IR Sams making up the majority of losses.
Syrian T-72s in the hands of War Thunder players are probably really accurate to how they were operated in real life. This game really is a testament to how modern equipment can't win a war without a well-trained crew.

Fun fact you can also lock planes and helis with the Mavericks. I use them for head ons in air RB and its hilarious.

The A10 Warthog excels at being CAS for lower tech targets, aka the middle east. However, it would struggle against targets that have radar AA and guided missile systems.
However, the A10 warthog has the best survivability and durability of any plane. It has two hydraulic systems for the wings AND a manual system incase both hydraulic systems are taken out. It also has the ability to fly under the power of a single engine as long as the gun isn't fired (the gun actually has more thrust than one engine when fired.)
Easy to be a gangster in AA when there isn’t any Growlers shooting HARMs
Unfortunately I’m pretty sure the manual and double redundant systems are not even slightly modeled in game although they’re there, they’re counted as one thing so if any part is hit you lose control.

Id argue both A10s are among the best cas in the game. They carry an impressive amount of armament and are extremely versatile. Id argue that the A10AE is the best cas at 9.7 and the A10AL is the best cas in game. Sams aren't a threat to the A10 at their respective BRs. The thing I like to do is farm SPAA, and then go in for gun runs. I can normally get 3-4 kills before the entire enemy team spawns SPAA and IFVs to murder me.
Roland sits at 10.0. I can shoot down A10 shortly after it spawns at 8 thousand meters distance.
@@codyfox2876 the A10AL can choose to spawn AF. Roland's max range is 7km btw.
No, the Roland SAM carrier for France gets the Roland 3 missile which has a range of 8km. And I can guarantee it is quite accurate at that distance.

What surprises me, is how war thunder A-10s (or any other CAS in the game) dont go around 8k meters in the air and dont just spend that time dropping JDAMs like every other modern day CAS lol.
I guess its more fun to drop a JDAM from like 2m off the ground, but most modern day CAS platforms like B1 lancers, usually do it from hella alltitude.

This was such a PITA for awhile getting tagged all the time with the A-10. Now that the Chinese z-19 E is available it fends these off fairly easily.

Sir…I’m a new player and a subscriber to your channel. Can you please explain how you spot those ground targets in GRB. When I do this I see nothing and am destroyed by SPAA. I have the A10late and am trying to utilize the mavericks but I can’t see anything until 3 miles. I thought they were meant to be used at further distances. Same problem when using the 30mm.

Hey Odd, I have a question as a player myself, how do you grind out aircraft, seeing as you mainly play ground rb. I've been trying to use aircraft in ground rb but they fall far behind my tank research, even with getting a couple kills each air spawn
Just play air rb/ab, that's quickest way. Usually I play two matches of ground then one of air.

It truely is a grind. - I’ve just started researching the arado 234 (6.3) whilst I’m playing at 7.7 for my ground units and that’s doing well for me, I’ve put a lot of effort into grinding as all I had for Cas on the German side was a heinkel 111 with the 2.5ton bomb lol
he doesn't grind. He gets golden eagles from Gaijin through the video partnership so he can just unlock them. Or he gets a 30d test drive to make a video on it. The mans not part of the grind.

Well, the original was VERY disrespectful to the Navy, and if it was even halfway realistic about how the military worked, especially courts martial, Maverick would have gotten a DD and life sentence in Leavenworth halfway through the first movie for MANY felonies, killing Goose, destroying a jet, repeatedly violating direct orders, and a multitude of UCMJ violations. The new "Maverick" movie should just be about the convict going to a parole meeting. Also, the first movie GROSSLY misrepresented what Top Gun was, and the sort of people who were enrolled.

@@ExcavationNation, in fact, several different JAG corps groups have analyzed the movie and criminal acts Cruise' character had committed, and they all were of the opinion Maverick would have gotten a DD (obviously) and life imprisonment in a federal penitentiary, likely Leavenworth, or even the death sentence.

how do you lock the Mavericks in 3rd Person? What keybinds you need?
Today I was in a kv 1 (l11?) and had about 5-7 tanks all shooting at me. A stug sniped them all after about three minutes of them all shooting at me. Not a single one killed me and there were a couple Sherman’s and a gun carrier 3 inch and some others I forget.
I remember arguing with you on Facebook about how good or bad the a10 was going to be. Good to see I was right the whole time. Survives 2 missiles In the same life with no critical damage

I swear this game has a built in bullet sponge mechanism to stop multi sprays lol. You brrrrrt the first tank insta death then hold down the trigger for 55 years and you get 1 crew member on the 2nd tank. It happends so often.
Exactlyyyy, even with cannons it feels like half of my shots dont even register, it sucks
Well typically you have twice the spray time on the first target, and the aiming is line up far better, so yes you would kill your 2nd target much less often…
WT can only handle so many projectiles hitting at once. I noticed the 3 cannons on the A-10 is worse.

Something I just noticed today, not sure if you have done it all along or not, but you intro your videos with "... in War Thunder".
It's a minor thing but a nice touch, like when someone remembers to put "in my opinion" at the end of their sentence lol.
And I imagine it stops a bunch of people being triggered by "well actually IRL X had/did/does/was reported to be/do Y", because it clearly states you are talking about the vehicle in this game and not whatever it is or does IRL.

I don't remember the a10s flying close support like this for us, but i can see the pilots useing that laugh of yours as they splashed our targets ( as a point of interest, the sound of the a10 in game is close to real life, but the bass is lower irl...actually shakes your frame ;) )

I honestly think hunting anti air thats in the back of the map is counterproductive in a plane, you should be focusing on the big boys that your little guys will have trouble with. Now if AA can hit you on more than half the map, then yea you go for them, but you usually shouldn’t otherwise.
