The A-10 got its name because it shot down 10 Mig-21's in a super sonic dogfight with only guns. The pilot was even blind and the plane had only 1 wing and 1 engine after it was hit with a nuke and survived. He then landed on an enemy air craft carrier and they were so impressed with what he did they gave him their best medal and send him home. The pilots name was Defyn Von Goober, you can google it. This is a great homage to his ability. - A-10 Fans.

It really does suck, time = rp unfortunately, I played a 3 hour game of sim yesterday did okay and got 242k rp with 650k sl, That's around 13k per 10 minutes it's about the same if you do well in rb except you can get 3 hours worth of rp in one go if you win (using premium and premium plane that is, you would get significantly less with no talisman or premium account depending on br too)

I get a smile whenever someone makes an A-10 Ace Combat reference.....because the A-10 was my favorite aircraft in the very first Ace Combat game back when the original Playstation first came out; the game was called Air Combat. As soon as I was able to use the A-10 it was the *only* plane I used; I was able to methodically pick the final boss to pieces with it.

The collective IQ of that enemy team (save for the 1 guy that at least tried to use his enormous energy advantage) isn't enough to power a very small light bulb
destroying ground targets is one of my favorite things to do in the game, its just so relaxing when you are left alone to do your thing and you get lots of rp from it too. sim is my favorite gamemode though since its not as boring as realistic.
air would be better if you could have real dogfights without the entire enemy team diving on u or getting the dogfight interrupted by a teammate, some of the best moments while playing were while I was dogfighting a MiG 15 in my sabre and dancing in the sky with the enemy, occasionally trading killshots but both of us missing until we eventually have to break off to RTB, game ended on tickets after that but it was so exhilarating, meanwhile in top tier I constantly stress about being missiled by a guy in orbit or somebody i dont see, so much so that I don't really have fun anymore IMO best time was MiG 15 vs Sabre meta, you couldn't just fly to 30,000 ft on a whim, you had to dedicate time to climbing and strategizing energy and whatnot, and you had to aim a whole lot more. Nowadays its whoever gets their free missile kills off first that gets good rewards, and so that incentivizes toxic behavior like kill stealing and just not learning how to actually fight, there are people in top tier (premiums) who get by with no knowledge whatsoever on how to energy fight or maneuver, they just turn on the missile seeker and fire when it turns red.

I find it funny how this slow hunk of junk just slaps everything in sight, and the best part is that since you are slower, youd think it would be easier to be shot down, but most get their aim thrown off by it
How do you actually attack an A-10 that's not braindead in a 1v1 or 1v2 situation? - If you try to get guns on him from low altitude, he instantly turns towards you and you have to dodge a head-on you will never win; - If you try to gun him down from above, he turns towards you (not head-on) and now the angle is too steep and you can crash; - IR missiles get flared (and the plane is cold) and he's not running out of flares before the end of the game (because he's also ground-pounding at the same time); - Radar missiles in a head-on could work, but radar won't even lock at those altitudes; - Can't dogfight (obviously) I was in a 1v2 vs two A-10s in a Mirage, one of them would ground-pound while the other would just fly towards me. When I was trying to get guns on the ground-pounder, he would insantly turn on me, forcing me to dodge and run away from him and his escort. I probably would have been able to kill them if the time was infinite but the ground-pound won.
IDK if im late to the party on this, but I noticed yesterday that the german 15mms got new belts and they have HE rounds now as well as API. If you want some relief from top tier BS, flying the F2 or F4 with gun pods should do the trick. They're not 151/20s but any stretch of the imagination and dont have germany's patented nuke rounds (mine shot), but they're really good none the less. I took my F2 into arcade for 5 games yesterday and went 74-2 over the course of those 5 games with the guns.
Yeah from playing it, and now especially from watching your gameplay, people seriously do not seem to like just slightly adapting their gameplay to whatever they're fighting. People take fights against the A-10 SO poorly. Good meme though, I knew it was going to be fun killing people who go too hard ;)
@@markstanard6306 I think the funniest part is you can still technically head on if you don’t full or partially commit, the low velocity on the Gau 30 means you can easily break off before the incoming bullet wall reaches you. Of course the most common head on in WT is a full commit which is basically an 100% guarantee of death against an A10(as opposed to 75% against any other plane).

So I’m no amazing pilot but I got the meteor reaper for Britain rather than vixen or gr1 simply cause I wanted the reaper. The acceleration is rather nice with min fuel. I’m pretty sure min fuel isn’t your style for obvious reasons. But going up in the meteor actually works for regaining top speed since you gotta stay fast being a slowish aircraft. And consume significantly less fuel up there as well. I’ve gotten 2 aces two days in a row. Still overall negative with about 300 kills to 350 deaths and over 450 ground targets. I know you said it gets bullied by everything faster than it, but I can 2v1 f9f’s and such *sometimes.

the problem with a10 is that no matter if you're 700kmh faster than it, if you head it on you get vulcan'd, if you fly away you get 9L'd from the rest of the sides. The A10 has to be third partied. Of all the jets I've flown against it, the MiG19 seems to be the one capable to deal with it, as it turns tighter, accelerates like a rank 7, is reasonably faster and can dodge missiles when they're too close.
Regarding winning on tickets. Have you considered that if you were to attack ground units at the beginning of a match, but die midway through that the ticket advantage those ground attackers created causes the win 10-20 minutes later? I noticed that when I flew attackers for a while about a year ago that my winrate was much higher than in fighters. (My K/D was worse ofcourse) I guess this could be a valid reason for one or two fighter players to not climb much about 2000 meters to defent the ground targets.
Who would have known that, in this Battle Rating, most of the jet players are actual monkes? A-5C/Harrier/F-5C players easily shambles in panic as DEFYN comes in.

It is quite simple, people overcommit against planes they perceive as weak and you can exploit that

Defyn is that good at the game that a 1v3 in an a-10 is only “a little bit sketchy”
They’ve since buffed the a-10 flight model too I think. It retains energy in turns even better now.

Regarding winning on tickets. Have you considered that if you were to attack ground units at the beginning of a match, but die midway through that the ticket advantage those ground attackers created causes the win 10-20 minutes later?
I noticed that when I flew attackers for a while about a year ago that my winrate was much higher than in fighters. (My K/D was worse ofcourse)
I guess this could be a valid reason for one or two fighter players to not climb much about 2000 meters to defent the ground targets.
I don't mind if the timer runs out
