I LOVE YOUR WORK. YOU Are AN AMERICAN HERO. WORKING WITH YOUR HANDs LIKE MY DAD TAUGHT US..AKA KOREAN WAR SOLDIER MY HERO,. Dad DIED LAST YEAR AT 89. Covid in Cal robbed us of our final moments with him. HE ALWAYS HAD TIME TO SHOW ME HOW TO WORK IN OUR LITTLE SHOP WITH HIS HANDS…A TEAMSTER, WORKING MAN, WORKED HARD FOR HIS FAMILY..MY THREE ADULT SONS MISS THEIR GRANDPA…..so do I, you remind me of my Dad, I’m a pussy weeping as I write this….I’m leaning on my table saw watching you as I make a bird house for my Grandaughter….

The road grater is an important toy because up until the 1960s, roads in America hadn't been made using them. Lots of roads are still variably bumpy because they haven't been grated even. New roads are, as are interstate highways. Kids had dump trucks but the road grater took awhile. So until road construction had them, it was rare to see them.

How many decrepit old metal toys can there be in the world? I've got this image in my head of would-be restoration video guys having fist fights in flea markets, competing for the few cruddy toys left. And don't you imagine there are TonkaToy autos all over, sitting in buckets of water so they can get rusty enough.

It also seemed odd that the wheels had a blueish tint to them?
