Thank-you for addressing the issue of the old valve on the propane tank. Around here, small tanks older than 5 (or maybe it's 10) years cannot be refilled at all and must be replaced.
Great work guys. It’s a shame that you couldn’t get the spent cartridges to eject, but that’s the beauty of this channel - your honesty. Not every old firearm will be able to be returned to full working condition, but the journey to restoration is just as entertaining as the result.
OH THANK GOD you got it safety certified. I was genuinely feeling myself age while watching this, because I've seen something pop off at a mere ~35 PSI, miss someone's face by a couple inches, and put a dent in an I-beam 15 feet above them, and I was reliving that a bit.
Dude, ya DONE GOOD. And thanks 😊 for protecting our eyes from your welding. And I don't know why it's a problem for SOME viewers when I say that. But you did a beautiful job, and it WORKS. Don't stop what you're doing!😊
Nice work, my only gripe is the color. It’s too bad you couldn’t color match, love those older 50’s-60’s colors. Looks like a modern Coleman stove now.
Great restoration, the only thing I probably would have done differently would be to replace the rubber hose just for safety reasons. Long past it's expiry date and don't want to spontaneously leak. Thanks for the great video
Tell me you're a Packers fan without telling me you're a Packers fan. Seriously sir, from one Green Bay fan to another, I'd slap a giant cheese wedge on the top of that and definitely take it to the next tailgater at Lambeau Field! And nice job on the restoration!!
Doesn't abrading the paint make it more susceptible to coming off and allowing rust underneath it? I totally get one in the matte look what I don't understand is why you didn't just use a matte clear coat instead of scratching and sanding the single layer of spray paint. The way it was done in the video made the paint layer even thinner than the single layer of spray paint that was used meaning it's going to wear through a lot quicker putting the item right back into the rusted state it was in prior to the restoration performed.
It's more than 1 coat. I don't show all the painting because it's boring to watch. The yellow looks thin because it's such a light color and I should have used a light colored primer for the yellow to mitigate this. Tiny bit of scuffing with grey scotch Brite will not meaningfully harm the paint layers
Nice job refinishing it in John Deere colors. Does Rustoleum make shades closer to the original? and could you have gotten Primus O-rings & replacement hose?
que buena estufa de campamento!! me encanta!! el cambio de colores queda lindo... yo hubiera ido por un verde esmeralda y gris plata.. (Slytherin rules) jaja.. de todos modos, excelente restauración.
fun fact, one of my relatives was a salesman for primus from sweden and was promoting it in the russian empire and later soviet union. he was the reason primus existed in russia :)
I'm just confused why it went from 1960s avocado green with butter yellow that was obviously over a pearlized white to John Deere Green and yellow. It completely changed the look from hey I'm an antique to you just bought a kitschy John Deere labeled camping items from camping world.
Station was a Restore 'Tuber They'd fix up junk so damn well Wojak-i never did send 'em no golden plaque But they'd just fix up one for their own, hell
I polished the brass with wd-40 and scotch brite (purely cosmetic for the video). I have powder coated but normally prefer paint. Powder coat is easier than painting in my experience and gives you cool time lapse oven shots which is why other restorers use it so often. The powder coat would probably melt off of a hot stove in this project so it would have been a bad choice imo
Strangely enough, when I worked for the State of NY, I saw a maintenance worker cleaning the brass hand rails in the building and asked him what he used. Windex glass cleaner and a polishing rag. Probably the ammonia reacts with the patina loosening it from the brass is my guess.
@RestorationStation because the Democrats cheated. The media, the 51 spies, the statistically impossible over night jump in Biden votes. They cheated. You lost subscribers over this folly and you had to delete your thread because you made yourself look like a right twat
Pero la 🤨🤔pintura estava mui bonita era solo aplicar laka y relucir esa pintura antigua pero el canal es tuyo asi que buen trabajo con esa pequeña cosina ⚙️🔨🛠️💯👈
Well, if you bring that out at the campground now, everyone will know you're a cheesehead. ;) (for those outside the USA, fans of the Green Bay Packers gridiron football team are called "cheeseheads" - the state of Wisconsin is known for its cheese production)

That BLT is a thing of beauty.
Indeed!
Now I really want a BLT! Beautiful work. You can tell your dedication. I mean you have a box of little rubber seals neatly arranged. Awesome!

Im more impressed with that BLT than I am with the restoration!!

Nice work here, and great result! I just finished eating dinner, but that sandwich got me hungry again, haha.
This was so satisfying to watch. Thank you for one awesome video. Result is a piece of art
So nice. Love the Packers colors! This should hold me over for a few months until the next vid. Good stuff
I have one in perfect condition. It is still like new.
Great restoration

Hank Hill would be proud of your good work! Let old propane accessories shine again! (with modern safty valves) XD

I enjoyed your video so I gave it a Thumbs Up for the support of your channel
Perfect restoration. You make a pretty mean BLT.
The white metal piece sandblasting was SO SATISFYING. I've never seen it come off so perfectly like that before ❤

Add some sliced turkey, and you'd have an awesome Turkey Club Sandwich!
Nice! ! ! !
Why do you remove the rust with a rust-remover liquid first if you are going to sand-blast anyway? Why not sand-blast only?
MERCI ! !
It was just iso alcohol to try and remove grease without damaging the paint
que buena estufa de campamento!! me encanta!! el cambio de colores queda lindo... yo hubiera ido por un verde esmeralda y gris plata.. (Slytherin rules) jaja.. de todos modos, excelente restauración.
Where did you find the orings for this stove?! Awesome video.
Do you test for lead paint before sand blasting? That would not be a good thing to get airborne in your shop.
Great job!
Very good for work. Brazil.
Great resto. I am disappointed that you didn't try and color match the paint.
fun fact, one of my relatives was a salesman for primus from sweden and was promoting it in the russian empire and later soviet union. he was the reason primus existed in russia :)
Looks great! The label is crooked though and my OCD is screamin’. 😂
Rather than using a gloss or semi-gloss paint just to de-gloss it, why not just use a matte paint?

Really great job, but why don't you repaint with original colors ?
I've got a box full of used matches, can you do a restoration on them for me, and you can use one of them to light your restored camping stove with.

Would of been nice if it was repainted to that sage green and cream color. Give it back its vintage vibe

The original colour was lovely. Real pity that you didn't repaint it the same
