Thanks, my 2015 JOURNEY SE, “ up Function , only *does not* work “, in the Control,Panel….. May be some noise Trying, to get Driver window back up . Auto down , etc.; seem OK: is that what you had?
Update: I didn’t get a chance to record a good video of the repair but I ended up soldering the wires and electrical taping it real good. The right way is to use shrink wrap but I forgot to grab that at the store. Easily would’ve been a 5-$600 repair at the dealer ship since they would’ve told me I needed a new harness. So far all windows have been working great . I only spent maybe a few dollars and maybe 1.5 hours of labor and borrowed the soldering stuff from my dads work
Hi. I want to thank you for the video! Today returning from work I stumbled on the same issue. After searching I found your video. Guess what? The exact same wire on my 2016 Journey! Ended up soldering extra wire to give extra length. Used the shrink wrap and it's as new! Funny detail: it happened on Tuesday, Wednesday is Canada Day, my window was all down. Thursday I have appointment at the dealership for maintenance and I was afraid of the bill!
Just wanted to say thanks, with your video I was able to diagnosis the same problem. I am getting ready to attempt the repairs, but I have limited electrical skills so I was hoping that you might have some pro-tips or lessons learned from when you did the repairs. I also have two questions, do you know the gauge of the wire, and how did you extract the rubber gasket from the car body? Thanks in advance for any help!
@@jonathanboerger1948 Hey honestly it’s been a while but I believe it was like 16 or 18 gauge wire. it’s low voltage so as long as you have something within the same size you’ll be good. I had to take the entire door off to have more room & as for the gasket just gently pry it off and be careful not to break these little plastic clips (I made that mistake) because it won’t want to clip back on when you put it back together. I borrowed a small soldering kit from my dad and basically stripped both ends of the wire back, add a shrink wrap piece before you solder it, twist both ends together (if wires aren’t long enough you may have to add a piece of wire) add some flux on the bare wire your about to solder , then solder it. When your touching the wire with the solder gun, let the flux start burning off a little then start touching the wire with the solder , then you’ll see it start to melt and get sucked in then start bonding . Once it’s a solid bond then slide the shrink wrap piece over and heat it with a heat gun until it shrinks up then you should be good. I hope that didn’t confuse you
Hell yeah man. I just did this and fixed all my window with that one little wire. Thank you so much for the video 🤙🏿🤙🏿🤙🏿
Worked for my 2015 dodge journey. thanks a bunch fo making this one.

Sorry for such a late reply I did not get a notification. But I’m glad that it worked out for you with this information. 👍🏻
Can you do a video on how to fix

Much appreciated! 2019 journey doing the same thing.
How did it work for you, 2022 about do the same thing 😩
Same thing happened to me on mu 2016 journey simple fix you can even press fit a bit of wire.
Thank you, the problem seems to be universal in different makes too.
Mine works sometimes. When the drivers door has to open to some unknown angle and then the windows will work.
Thanks brother 😭
verified fix, thanks for the vid!
So true this happened to me like about 2 years ago
Thanks! Exactly the problem
Great info, thanks
