I have the same body type as you (the ultra-German kind) and my whole life I've felt sort of masculine with my broad shoulders and my big feet and my hip dips and feeling like my chest somehow made me look muscular rather than feminine. BUT! Watching you, all I can think is how soft and pretty you look, and finally I'm realizing that our body type is actually incredibly sexy, and I feel a lot more confident because of your videos. A lot of the things that you say about your figure remind me of things that I would always say to myself in my head, so I hope that you can have the same revelation that I did.
Can we just settle that body types are not down to nations. Also Germanic Tribes from Scandinavia and German aren't the same. So a Viking body would be a Norse kind if anything. I do have the same built and feel like it should be celebrated more, as I too have struggled with recognizing my body's femininity

PRO TIP MY LOVE !!!!!! Don’t use your fabric scissors to cut paper you will very quickly dull and ruin your scissors!!! Best to use what ever paper scissors you have to cut the pattern if the pattern is from paper and not tissue !!!!!
First things first: I'm in love with this "But Make It Vintage" series. Second of all, this is INCREDIBLE. I could not stop seeing Danny in your face once the makeup was done. I don't know how you did it, but you became Emilia Clarke. And the outfit itself was beautiful too. Great job, Rachel!
Amazing! Simple and efficient seamstress trick: always always always always iron your seams open. It will make those darts and the middle front seam look much sleeker and better. Basically, keep your iron next to your sewing machine all along the sewing process of a project and you sew each seam open after sewing it. It's annoying, but it's magic!
1: I am so happy that I'm not the only one who goes to do amkeup for a character costume and is all- "must change the whole face shape!" I sometimes feel so extra, but it always looks great when its done. 2: I think the shapeless quality of the vest works actually. Especially in her dathraki looks it seemed like they tried not to emphasize her womanly shape because they wanted her to look young, so I feel like that would have been the look if they'd made that dress.
You're so good at cosplay makeup, my brain is trying to tell me I'm seeing someone else on screen. (btw that eye makeup and eyebrows are really flattering on you!)
You need a sewing book. They can explain how to read the pattern and have terminology defined. Also take a sewing class. Or collab with a sewing youtuber

Seamstressed oh, I just died a little inside to read that! My three five year olds and my recently-turned-four year olds already know not to touch my fabric scissors. I’ve never even seen them reach for them. I gave the look of death to my son one time when he was glancing a little to hard at them 😂.

I don't watch GoT, but I love how the dress turned out! BTW I have sewing tutorials on my channel and have one for sewing a zipper in a side seam. I thought it might be helpful since you mentioned struggling with the zipper instructions. I'll link it in my reply.

Yennefer from the witcher could be cool! Her costumes have so much texture to them which could be a help or a hinderance I suppose. Her whole dark witchy aesthetic could be really cool. I loved watching you set the curls with your wig, I didn’t realize that there is a sort of pattern to the curling that makes it look that way but it makes soooo much more sense now! Also Frodo traipsing across your pattern is so cute and so relatable, I have a Brittany named Remy (after the x-man because thats what kind of nerd I am) and he just walks all over anything in his way. He loves going outside to get his feet muddy and walking on a newly made bed the very most, because of course he does.

Isn't it better for like props and stuff? I mean, can't it seap things like fabric... like, wouldn't it make the fabric stick to the dress form? And doesn't it have a longer dry time and fumes?
The fumes are so bad though. And you can't always glue outside. I never use E6000 on any of my costumes personally. Fabric glue works great (or if gluing rhinestones, gem tac) for things like that, also much better than hot glue. I've also done tests with E6000, fabric glue, and gemtac. The fabric glue holds better than E6000. Maybe it is just me? But with my cat (and me, as I am in bad health) I stay away from E6000.
@@spidermiss2426 : I loves me some fabric glue! It works really well if you need a quick fix, or if you don't have time to hand sew a component. It also works really well to keep exposed edges from fraying!

I sew the majority of my wardrobe, and found it helpful to use practice fabric when trying a new pattern. This helped me get comfortable with the pattern instructions and make any needed adjustments.

I sew the majority of my wardrobe, and found it helpful to use practice fabric when trying a new pattern. This helped me get comfortable with the pattern instructions and make any needed adjustments.
