    I’ve also refilled these kegs using a similar method but with the homebrew being in my pressurised fermenter (fermentasaurous) then transferring it into the pd keg under pressure and burping the outer bag pressure whilst it fills up.
    Same results but without the pump.
    It’s Endless what can be put in the pd kegs .
    It’s great to see how others do it thanks for the video👍🏻

    For those that are interest in doing this. I have done something similar but without using a pump to suck out the air. I rely on gravity so in this setup if you had the same arrangement as in the video but just placed the keg on the floor with the outlet air tube open to atmosphere it would fill by itself. If you make sure the keg is pressurised first and the tube already inserted into the beer it would create the suction to get things going and then gravity takes over. I find it takes about 15 mins to fill fully. Job done!

      Also, another tip is that I operate the NRV by placing a bolt into the end and hold it into place with an elastic band. Works fine

      Do you get 6 liters into the keg? There a number of ways to do it, I 1st done it by filling a bottle and squeezing it back into the keg but was a long process. Make a video, would like to see how you do it.

      @@duncanswankie yes no problem filling. Sometime some air or residual gas we’ll take up some space but I get rid of that by lifting up the keg above the beer turning it upside down ( tube entry is at bottom of keg) and expelling the air back into the beer via gravity. Then put it back below the beer and allow gravity to take over again to fill it back up fully.

      @@pepx3625 it's good we can fill them up and beat the system. You need to do a video so I can see if its easier than the way I do it. I just read up and made a video to help others like us

      Yep great video by the way just thought I would add the option of not using a pump since I like you investigated it and found that the pump part was the most awkward bit so found a way to eliminated this. I’ll have a think about a video!

    OK, really interesting video, thank you. Can you use one of those camping airbed pumps to suck the air out? If not, where do you get the mains adapter/wiring from for the Amazon pump? When you remove the water/sanitizer, do you need the keg inside the PD machine to pump it out, like you would with a beer? Cheers.

      Video is great and really informative, I currently make my own homebrew and have a keezer set up with cornys but would love to be able to add a perfect draft keg to my set up for friends who just like to drink lagers and or not keen on what I have on tap, so my question is if I was to buy the part for the top of the keg the gray bit you put the barbs in, what size is the outlet that pushes air into the keg? Would I be able to connect onto that with plumbing fittings? Any info you have would be much appreciated love the video👍

    My friend thanks for thw video. I have a problem I would like some help. With the exact same setup you showed us, I cloud fill (and empty) the keg 3 times using water and sanitizer just to clean it. It took the expected 6 liters. But when I tried to fill it with regular beer, it only took 2 liters.
    Do you think it was the foam forming inside the bag, that filled the all bag? Any other ideas?

    • @duncanswankie
      @duncanswankie  4 года назад

      Have you tried to empty the keg? Was there a lot of foam in the contents coming out if you did? Is you're brew fizzy ? I've just filled my second batch, and I did notice it was going in slow, so I changed for a new hose (that comes with the kegs) and it was fine after. I could only assume there was some hops blocking the nozzle.
      Hope this helps, let me know how you get on.

    Does anyone know if a fish tank pump would work in place of the 12v pump?

    • @duncanswankie
      @duncanswankie  4 года назад +1

      Does the fish tank pump work as a vacume? You need to suck the air from the keg to get the bag , the good thing about the pump I use just a quick change to the other valve and you can pump the water out. If the fish tank pump can that, you would just have to get the correct reducer to fit the tube

    • @mflanagan7929

      @@duncanswankie yea I was thinking that you could just use the air inlet valve in order to suck the air from the keg. I've found a pump similar to the one you have so hoping it's the same size coupler needed. Thank for the video btw!!

  • @anyrobinhoodtube

    Did you know there is little valve on the keg you press and it releases the air in the keg and will suck your beer into the bag.

    • @duncanswankie
      @duncanswankie  4 года назад

      Yes , but you still need to remove the air from the keg. I dont think you would be able to fill the keg fully without the pump

    • @anyrobinhoodtube

      I saw another video once, which I can no longer find. They managed to get 5 litre back in keg. Just gravity feed and releasing air a bit at a time. Didn't use the tap. But fed into rubber hose and plastic part that pushes into keg. They used tie wraps to stop it popping out. This required no pump or other connections.

    • @duncanswankie
      @duncanswankie  4 года назад +1

      You can also doctor up the hose where the beer comes out , fit to a plastic bottle and squeeze new beer back in, but that was a lot of effort. I found the pump was a lot easier.
