okay i just finished this anime and this is what i have to stay abt this show. i’ve watched a lot of anime’s but this ONE is like no other anime i’ve watched, i hold it really dearly because it makes me realize how life really feels like. because i deal with a lot of derealization and just being detached from life itself and ppl to. the anime is very difficult YES but once u realize what is happening you are going to LOVE IT . i’m a person who loves obstacles and solving, so this show really had me exited and not like these animes now and days that are all the same lonely life, school life, fighting the same way, there just all the same. it really puts me in such a sad place knowing it’s been over a decade and no news abt a renewal and that the studio got bankrupt :( all i can say is thank you ergo proxy you really helped me see life in a better way. much love to this anime

This intro's atmoshpere captures the essence of media in early 2000's: aim for somewhat dark, new, experimental stuff, cliplike montage with dark-shades palette. And rock, ofc. A thing of its time.

This isn't a cyberpunk anime lol, also as much as EP is probably my favorite show of all time (either that or Death Note), there's a lot of solid stuff coming out nowadays
@@omegazx7236 damn well it is cyberpunk.
A opening that you are forbidden to skip
If the 2000s had an opening, this would be it
Lol
it really does capture the essence of that time. A glorious golden time for anime
2006
Even tho I didn't understand shit in this anime and I was confused most of the time I have to say that I loved the atmosphere, the music, and the whole mood. Its very unique. I loved the characters too.
btw this opening is the reason why I started watching this show! that's how good it is.
yeah everything that happens in this anime leaves your mind running wild deep thoughts about life,ecc... but it leaves also holes that makes so hard to comprend the whole thing...
its all explained soemthere on the internets
the first part is actually great and easy to understand... but after a while there are some really confusing episode. Still I agree with you on the opening, it fucking amazing.
The visual, the music, everything in this opening feels perfect.
Man i love this show
Especially that episode with this show was one of the most random and important episodes cause while he was telling the questions and answers I began to realize what was goin on
Same here. It's the most maddeningly baffling TV series I've ever seen but it was so damn captivating and good.
“After so many mistakes, you got the song right”
Pinoooo!!! miss you!!! :C
but she was so.. insignificant.. and uninteresting
... You must be a demon sent by lucifer. :v ! Pino was the best :
lol what??
pino was by far one of the best characters in EP
without her re-l and vincent wouldn't have bonded
Everyone loved pino
AR Gallardo arigato Pinooo , saves the world .
This is easily one of the most beautiful anime openings I've seen
*STILL IN 2020, LOVE THIS MUSIC*
Sign my Petition for a second season guys!!! www.change.org/p/geno-studio-ergo-proxy-season-2
This anime truly is a masterpiece. A legend long forgotten.
The moment with Vincent screaming always gives me chills
Something about this opening kind of really moves me to tears
okay i just finished this anime and this is what i have to stay abt this show. i’ve watched a lot of anime’s but this ONE is like no other anime i’ve watched, i hold it really dearly because it makes me realize how life really feels like. because i deal with a lot of derealization and just being detached from life itself and ppl to. the anime is very difficult YES but once u realize what is happening you are going to LOVE IT . i’m a person who loves obstacles and solving, so this show really had me exited and not like these animes now and days that are all the same lonely life, school life, fighting the same way, there just all the same. it really puts me in such a sad place knowing it’s been over a decade and no news abt a renewal and that the studio got bankrupt :( all i can say is thank you ergo proxy you really helped me see life in a better way. much love to this anime
I am positive and I don't talk to many people yet, and I don't feel happy in my head, but whenever I make people happy I become happy :D. My manga suggestion that made me happy was asper Kanojo.
This is actually my first time listening to this, Thanks Joey and Felix.
Ergo proxy is just SOO GOOD imo.
Just recently finished watching it. Definitely one of my favorite anime!!
This opening tho!! It’s just a vibe and feel kinda sad imo.
I'm Ergo Proxy, The agent of death...
this is one of my favorite ops ever, it deserves way more recognition
Fun fact, many scenes in this opening can be found in their unfinished form from the early trailer for Ergo Proxy, which can be found on both imdb and Anime News Network.
100% one of the best themes in anime history
First saw this series back in 2007. This is official on that nostalgic level for me.
@Munia of course.
@Munia I've seen Berserk (the really old one and the movies. Not the new CGI series). Heard of Texhnolyze, but I haven't seen it. Lately I've been getting into those Webtoon adaptations (Tower of God and a the God of High School). Other than that, I really like My Hero Academia, Fire Force, Dr. Stone and all those shonen series that have been coming out.
自力で辿り着いた隠れた名作
I suddenly remembered it for the first time in years and the introductory music and video made my whole body tremble.
Thank you for leaving the video.
マングローブありがとう。
Never noticed that at 1:01 Vincent is turning into Ergo.
Wow! Nice eye!! I'd never actually seen that 'til now!
Yep caught it around episode 5 or so. Brilliant detail.
I love this anime. It makes you want to rewatch every episode to understand what is going on, but only in the end is where everything falls in place... perfect in every way
or read the plot on google so you can understand it
Im ashamed to say that i didn't understand a single thing in the show till i googled it. Feelsbadman
Why masterpieces are dying in dark, when moe craps are shining?
That's life. :(
we have re:Zero this season, there are not many masterpieces anyways, it just looks like that since a lot of anime aired before you started watching anime.
Re Zero is just very good made anime. It looks like masterpiece because there is not many good ones.
sad
Maybe, but moe crap is forgotten in a week, while this kind of masterpiece remains with you forever
Man, recently watched this, needed to watch the intro again and went through the comments and just felt amazed about how other people felt the same exact way how I did when I watched this, this is literally my top five, amazing.

Had this on my watchlist for years and finally got around to watching it recently and I kid you not this song was the hook that got me invested.
Did you finish watching?
@@muniaisworthit I'm about halfway through. I got real busy with my final projects for the semester and haven't had much time to watch. I really like it so far!
I was amazed that this anime was VERY good, also I love how it's not your normal genre of anime; not many people would find it very good coz it's not your typical comedy/harem anime, i love the opening and fits the anime perfectly and the story line was just hands down awesome I agree that anime like this should be made more often :)
Legendary anime, forever in the heart
Лучший опенинг всех времен, как по мне))
Ergo proxy's OP is the best anime OP I have ever seen, in terms of uniqueness, and Aesthetic
I was procrastinating about watching this anime because I'm not big on Sci-Fi/Cyberpunk animes. And now that I've recently finished it.... it's one of the best pieces of works I have ever watched/experienced. Now every time someone asks me to recommend them an anime I tell them "watch EP."
Yeah If u only watch Naruto it's obviously your taste
And when they ask, "what's it about?" And you're like "uhhhhh I don't know how to explain it without spoiling it"
@ for real ! I always say “if you enjoy plot twists, you’ll love it”
I'm listening to all the opening rated by Joey and Felix here. All lit bangers so far.
We need pew playlists
Especially German Naruto opening
@@zc1995 we don't talk about that good sir
This intro's atmoshpere captures the essence of media in early 2000's: aim for somewhat dark, new, experimental stuff, cliplike montage with dark-shades palette.
And rock, ofc. A thing of its time.
I just finished watching this anime and im not a big anime fan, it has to be really good for me to like it and man... I have to say. it has left me feeling like no other show out there anime or not...... The message i got from this show is just insane Im so happy I watched it and will cherish it always and I can say it is considered my favorite show. Such an experience Highly recommend to anybody that has not seen it. You will ponder about life :) Ergo Proxy one hell of a show
If you liked this you should watch its "sister"-animes: "serial experiments lain", "haibane renmei" and (if u have a strong stomach) "texhnolyze". I also recommend "shineskai yori" "the tatami galaxy", "kino no tabi" and "death parade".
That's one of the bests answers that I've seen, those are really good anime series to watch :)
Same happend to me with anime MONSTER, so i started this yesterday and cant way to continue
@@TeemoStricker monster and psycho pass are good recs as well, and there are more good ones, but they dont always stand out as much as some others like the ones mentioned here
This reminds me so much of the Smallville "Save Me" theme lol
Yes!!! I also thought the same!!!
Even some of the visuals do. Like the gust of wind blowing the main character draws parallels.
lmao i came here bc i watched the arrowverse crossover and heard the song and was like “yooo that sounds like the Ergo Proxy opening”
Ackar Productions Thank You!!! Idk if u will see this after the time u posted this but I was feeling the op felt eerily similar to a hero show but I couldn’t put the name to it. Thank you good sir!
this anime has been on my mind for SO LONG i wanna cry when i hear the op
Like a fading dream..
@@kotonashi7633 yes!
One of my favorite OPs ever. The animation is gritty and the music fits the somber feel of the show so well.
It took me so long to find Ergo Proxy. One of the best series I've ever seen♡
Without question, one of the greatest Anime openings of all time. The show is also one of my favourite Anime.
I need to re-watch this show now :/
ME TOOOOO
feel the need grow the longer u procrastinate
Archangel Sings ikr fk x.x after new years ill start it! againnanana
FO SHO lol
Every time I hear Kiri by Monoral feel nostalgic about Ergo Proxy. What an amazing vibe.
Monoral*
This song was actually done by a Japanese band, not by Puddle of Mudd or Creed? Shockingly impressive! This opening song and its glitchy, ethereal credits are the biggest reason why I love this Japanimation as well as the Evanescence / Re-L connection and the game show episode.
I know this comment is old but just curious do you like any other animations that have come out of Japan?
"Literally me" - The anime.
i was captivated by this song the first time i hear... it's kinda dark, sorrowful and nostalgic at the same time..
Funny part of the show is how pino putting make up on vincent. Also re-l is best girl. I would recommend this anime to anyone.
Sign my Petition for a second season guys!!! www.change.org/p/geno-studio-ergo-proxy-season-2
With Manglobe gone, I'd rather they don't mess with this epic story
@@Yuri-qi9te I mean, the ending literally shows them going off to adventure some more into the outside world after they get out of the main city with the robots or infected and everything got destroyed. Woulda liked to know how much more story we got, pino, and the relationship of Ergo, or Vince and Re-l I think.
To this day Ergo Proxy is the best anime I've ever seen.
@Munia Haibane Renmei, Secret Experiment Lain, Texhnolyze, Black Lagoon, Darker than Black, Cowboy Bebop, GitS, Acca 13 kansatsu-ka, 91 days, Perfect Insider(underwhelming but had a soul), Ghibli anime(Mononoke Princess is my favorite) , Garden of Words, Summer Wars, Jojo and some lighter ones like Fairy Tail, Gintama, recently also Black Clover and Jujutsu Kaisen.
Other than that most of the Gundam and Highschool Dxd(only harem I enjoy tbh). I could add more but this are the one I remember without looking up the names.
ほんとこれ奥が深い。
Amazing OP gives me smallville vibes, just finished watching cyberpunk edgerunners and looked for an alternative this did not disappoint.
we need more openings like this...
I miss anime like these
I wish I could go back in time
No matter how many times I rewatch this , I can't get enough
The anime required a higher intelligence and history to understand it.
