@Df D exactly!! that is why abortion should be legal anywhere in the world, because children are not to blame for the irresponsibility and selfishness of their "parents" in bringing them into this world to suffer, growing up without love and hungry because his parents did not know what they were getting into when they brought him into a world that is going from bad to worse, economically, socially, politically and environmentally
@@lui1673 . In case you didn't know, abortion is the termination of a pregnancy, not a murder ☺️. And yes, obviously not taking care of yourself is part of your irresponsibility, but it is more serious to bring a child into this world when they don't even have the mental or psychological maturity, and obviously don't have economic stability, I don't know how you can believe that the interruption of the pregnancy is worse than bringing an innocent child to suffer, a child that can already feel, think, see and hear, it is not just a group of cells
@@karoljohana5437 Why use abortion? Stop having child when you surely know that you can't properly take care of that child. Just control your lust or just stop having sex. Abortion is indeed a murder don't deny it.Just become infertile. And do as you wish without the risk of pregnancy and lessening the necessity of abortion.
Lol some people here are comparing Light with Johan. That's utter nonsense. If Johan and Light would meet each other Johan would convince Light to write his own name in the Death Note. It's as simple as that.
Not really...They are both amazing characters (2 of my all-time favorites), and they are quite similar. Though their main difference stems from Light's fear of death and strong drive, while Johan is a nihilistic individual...
@@Omega-dj9sh Idk...I'd say berserk takes the place for the deepest/darkest animanga, but yeah Monster is definitely up there. DN is also pretty deep to be fair, though not on the same level lol.
It's actually really interesting how the longer you stare at Johan's face, you can see that he's not smiling but almost scared or about to cry. It might be the way the eyebrows dont lift or his smile not lifting his cheeks. Whoever made this is amazing, they really captured the monster within a boy.
Monster is so underrated. I love it when I find a comment section full of Monster fans and Johan fans, Johan is one of the best villains in my opinion. Yes I’ve seen Griffith, yes I’ve seen light and many others but there’s something scary and elegant about Johan I can’t seem to find in any other character
Because he is a nihilist. He doesn't even know why he is living. He has nothing he loves, wants or hates. He just plays the game martin and other kids played for to become person who chosen by fate, for to has a reason for living, -for the love of life- because like Dr Tenma said "No body wants to be dead" Sorry for bad english
Will never forgive Netflix for not buying the permissions to use this song in the credits on Netflix. I think it adds so much to the show. Having that meditative 50 seconds after every episode and listening to this song enhanced the show so much for me

I know!! Netflix botched so many things when it came to Monster, including leaving out the amazing ENG dub. I was so happy when I heard it was coming to Netflix, but there's so many little things they messed up it just irks me.

David Sylvian's music is like dropping some really good acid, and it is utterly fantastic. I feel like this song would have been better suited for Paranioa Agent or maybe Ghost Hound rather than Monster though
@@thenintendobros9918 naaahh, i think it's already perfect to use this song in monster and paranioa agent in its ED respectively, for me they both already fit fine in their own way

I've seen ppl say "This anime is a masterpiece , monster anime is a masterpiece" But in my opinion ... we can't call this anime a masterpiece . It's on a whole other level.
@Griffith: The Ultimate Evil this... So much. I've been trying to tell this to a lot of people. The darker artstyle especially in the prague arc, the continuity of the story with the brilliant panelling, the horror of the story is just conveyed way better in the manga. Urasawa's works are meant to be read as mangas. The anime is great but it's urasawa man, the anime adaptation can never be bettet than the manga he creates.
Gonna be honest, I love the Manga, but the anime absolutely managed to create a very strong atmosphere as well with its phenomenal music and sound design.
I feel sorry for Johan .. I never thought I will .. up until the 73rd episode, I wasn't sure I can ever forgive him or find him redeemable ... but it wasn't about that. Johan in many ways was only a victim and was acting based on the only realities he knows. This story started by a dead husband of a woman that lost her husband for an experiment and was kept and degraded to a vessel to carry these promising babies. She was broken in many ways and she couldn't truly love the children because even at the end, she wanted them to revenge for her. They came and she ran away with them but she did a huge mistake of degrading Johan to nothing: he was Anna, dressed and made to be Anna [she wanted to hide and therefore used the one child theory] .. but she never really thought of what that made of Johan .. he was never able to know who he were or what he was .. he was Anna which is why : I am you and you are me .. we are one and if anyone to live it was Anna [because he was nothing without her] .. in his sense of identity he had no name, then he had no gender or any sense of self .. and when they came to pick who to leave for the red rose mansion .. it was Anna and as a child he was always made and reduced to no one .. even in hard choices : Anna was the one picked. She come back traumatized and Johan as every experiment she went through, ask her to share their/her experience because her memories is his = he is an extension of her. She shares the horror and in someway : Johan and Anna become this one person and they need to run .. Anna doesn't want to come back there and she is scared so he needs to protect her and because the mother gave her away, she is not to be trusted so they leave. Until then Johan killed no one and touched no single life. Johan and Anna then find the old couples but Johan had not protected Anna .. he now has her traumatized memories [remember in these moments they give no names to the old couple too] .. Johan kill them .. he doesn't kill them because he wants to but because in his mind that's what happens: adults either will separate him from his sister or they will do something horrible .. so he does that and because he was left alone in the house dressed as his sister reading that story of that monster that kills when hungry! Wolf finds them and then he gives Johan his name .. and Anna gets her name [her mother's] .. it is always ironic to me that his sister get her mother's name and in a way she is given the power over him .. Johan was basically no body and even when he was given a name : he was the prince with a monster that kills everyone and be alone. Johan then goes to the hell 511 orphanage where his memories are solidified : he again comes and get in encounter with adults that experiment on children and he goes days and weeks in torture - may be years! He already had no identity and he was only having that identity of Anna [him being in her shadow] .. he was connected to her but his way of refusing to forget Anna is partially because that's his sense of self ! He was not anyone but Anna's shadow .. he goes through hell and I think his way of leaving torture is to inducing it and killing everyone because in Johan's mind : there was no escape but death to everyone .. and that he needs to feed that monster which is inside him .. On another hand, Anna was never but herself, she went to a stable orphanage and because she had a memory loss .. she was able to forget and be healthy. Johan on other hand, remembered everything up to them .. when he was made to forget everything. When they kept Anna's memory to him, in a way they kept the memory of him having to kill everyone and feeding the monster because to Johan : Anna was his source of all this. Johan then was grouped with Anna but sadly .. when he killed all these people and when she discovered it is him .. he can recognize she was disappointed in him and he asks her to kill him .. in a way to execute him if she thinks he is bad and she does. Anna failed to see how broken Johan is and why he was killing .. but in his mind he needed to kill these people .. he had to do that. this is how it function. It is an irony that no one before Tenma actually protected Johan . In his mind the only person who saw him as he is and decided to save him was Tenma .. before him his mom chose but he didn't know why she chose his sister .. if it was a mistake or if she was choosing because she knew he wasn't the good one and then his sister judged him and chose everyone else but him when it came to his actions .. He then allowed Tenma to chase him and potentially decide to kill him [he had to drag Tenma all along and show him what he is or who he is as Johan believed that's all he is] .. it is actually sad .. because Johan was always alone and was never capable of feelings .. he was a sociopath imitating emotions but he never felt anything too ..
I feel sorry for him too, he only needed love, but it was so dangerous to get close to him. He was only a child and he's not responsable of what people did to him. And Nina...I kinda hate her, she says she forgive him instead of saying "I'm sorry for what I did to you". Edit again: Anna is the name of the sister of Johan and Nina's mother. Their mother had a twin that died when they were born, and the parents decided it would be Johan and Nina's mother who will live. Their mother grew up feeling guilty her sister died for her fault. She used the name Anna to hide her identity cause she was a revolutionary. Anna was an important name to Johan and Nina's mother, so Nina had the name of what her mother thought was linked to love, Anna. It's told in Another Monster.
Lady Grinning Soul Nina never truly understood Johan because at the end, she let him go and be in the past and lived her life without him. He needs help and her presence with him can help getting him to some normal! Also, that mother of them is a monster! I can’t believe she knew all this then left them and never searched for them when they left or ensured they are safe! She was only their to use them to revenge for her if possible
This song works best, I think, from Tenma's perspective. It's a weary kind of optimistic mixed with soft horror and regret. Feels like the singer is trying to encourage himself as much as the other person, but it's getting hard. He's tired.
True. David Sylvian himself said so in the booklet coming with the Monster OST that he was inspired by Tenma to write the lyrics: "I was attracted to the Monster material by the moral dilemma faced by its central character. The calm surface of the music giving way to darker undercurrents signifying the conscience of the lead protagonist and the themes of morality, fate, resignation, and free will."
I'm a fan of both Monster and David Sylvian, and I would say your description here is something crucial. This is how the most part of Sylvian discography sounds to me - beautifully tired.
Going back more, it sounds more like the song of Bonaparta. Him repenting for all his crimes and having guilt for being the progenitor of all things bad that happens in the show, directly or indirectly.
The lyrics are so strong , deep and highly expressive This song expresses the message that MONSTER tried to show us you can`t hear something like this anymore. Seriously what a masterpiece !!!
His music is so freaking amazing, he weaves his beautiful, expressive lyrics with soft tones, gentle melodies, and screeching samplings to create utter masterpieces
Like really..after binge watching the show I was having surreal nightmares in which Johan would just stand there and stare and I couldn't do a thing except think if it's real or not
@@jyotipatel9917 Woah , I've experienced that in my dream too , like Johan showed up in my dream, looking at me and its extremely terrifying . The fact that it makes me feel like its REAL really traumatized me

“how can the right thing be so wrong?” pierces my heart every time... I can see Tenma having a flashback of when he saved (kid) Johann from the bullet in his head. Monster is truly a masterpiece by Urasawa
@@priyamvadaliebertxox769 You're the idiot in this situation, actually. Light Yagami is a Villain Protagonist. Protagonist doesn't mean the hero, it means the lead character. In Death Note it's L who is the antagonist. It's literally what makes it a brilliant anime, having the protagonist become a villain, slipping more and more into the darkness, bringing so much conflict into the audiences minds, of who we should be rooting for. TL/DR :Just because Light Yagami is the villain, he doesn't just lose his status in the story, that of the main character - the protagonist.
Three ways I see it. I am copying some from someone else I guess but here it is: 1) He is pretending to smile 2) He is genuinely curious about why people around him are in delight 3) He is ready to bawl his eyes out Johan is appearing as if he is smiling but his cheeks doesn't lift up. At first he looks like he is smiling but looking deeply he looks like he is indifferent and when looking even further or reading too much into it, it looks as if he is on the verge of breaking into tears. My explanation is that whatever you pick, what Johan is doing is doing subterfuge by hiding his true emotion and is doing a decent job at it. If he is smiling, it goes without saying he is probably smiling at people in University of Heidelberg but not smiling alongside them(If I am not wrong, this art is recreation of the photograph Dr Gillen and Lunge and maybe even Reichwein uses throughout the show to inquire about Johan). He can understand why the students are smiling but his mental faculties cannot permit him to break into a wrinkle giving smile aka the genuine smile. If you pick that he is indifferent, he certainly have always had the mindset of being on a higher level than people he comes across in his life. In this case, he is wondering why all the people around him are smiling as if he is levels above them and finds it unnatural. And the thing is, there is some truth to this. Johan, despite the poverty he faced when he was growing up, is no pleb like me. A character could smile and act stupid and Johan can only wonder as everything which lead to him growing up weeded out that which normal people have. In summary, it's like a scientist looking a test subjects and why they are behaving a particular way. No malice, only objective worldview and curiosity. Finally, if you picked the option that he is ready to cry any moment, it makes sense too because Johan is so removed from emotions that he genuinely cannot figure out why people are in high spirits or happy. Forget about aspects like jealousy and hatred, he is like a child who cannot understand why his parents are fighting and similarly here he finds the simple fact that students on a college campus are smiling and hugging and enjoying their day as logic defying. Thanks for reading.
I took the cheeks not lifting line from @rockbellstormcloud7365 Apparently, I forgot about it and further scrolled and remembered it as I saw the comment.
This song perfectly matches the themes in the anime. What of the children? Surely they can't be blamed for our mistakes. Nobody should be blamed. There is no such thing as evil. Sometimes the right thing can seem so wrong. But slowly you'll come to realize, it's all as it should be. You can only do so much for the love of life.

As a simultaneous David Sylvian fan and anime fan I can't believe after 22 years of life and becoming a musician obsessed and inspired with Sylvian I am only just discovering this show/manga and this song
This song might not have that many words, but it fits the anime and you can almost see the speaker hang his head down and breath out air thinking "What are we going to do now?"
this gives me a feeling no other song has given me in my life. I just can't describe it. I can't help crying listening to it. everything about monster was a masterpiece.
Even though this series was tragic, this ending song always felt a soothing feeling. Always made me feel calm, nostalgic about something and led me some different happy place. Such a masterpiece. Hats off to all the ones who made this song.
Johan is a literal masterpiece when it comes to a character that symbolizes larger themes like one's "self," "identity," and "purposelessness," but he is reduced to this "nihilistic edgy antagonist." Easily one of the greatest characters in anime.
MONSTER is one of the greatest anime ever. David Sylvian is one of the greatest singer-songwriter's ever. Those two factors alone make up this to be the most perfect combination ever.
"Johan" is the nickname of the villain who made me realize how raw life can be. A true masterpiece. I can't get enough of watching it over and over again! 🔥🔥
I've watched many anime and web series but monster is a true master piece... After watching this I switched to novels as I felt it is impossible to get something as good as this from any other anime or series but haven't found any novel which can give me eerie feeling as this anime gave me. I am afraid if I will ever come across something as great as this series.....
This anime is a masterpiece in every way, one of my all time favorites, I also love that my country, Czechia, got represented in anime, and such a great one at that.
A 74 episode anime but we still don't know who Johan really is or even what is his real name, where he was born, is he even alive or not . We don't get the answers of these questions but Monster is truly brilliance , no doubts the best show I have ever watched👏👏👏
I don't know why but this song makes me feel extremely weird , is like a feeling I never experienced before I just can't explain but I love it , is like nostalgic but happy but sad aaaaa
It’s meant to correlate to johan in the end which is why it’s the end theme , not scary enough to make you run or fear … but .. almost … nice enough to trust it .?.?.? A character story alignment Johans amazing ability to appear just right for you to lull you down in his hands
While watching this series, I cried when hearing this for the first time. I couldn't believe that my favorite artist of my youth was being used for this brilliant show.
I'm here both Monster for and David Sylvian. I already knew him before starting to watch Monster. David Sylvian is a great artist. He has a great solo career, but he also was also the frontman of a band called Japan in the 70s. He has collaborated, for example, with Ryuichi Sakamoto and Robert Fripp. Listen to more songs by him and Japan. Start with "Forbidden Colours", which is a collaboration with Sakamoto.
yeah i'd say the smartest thing is to start with Sylvian's more pop-ish songs and then listen to Dead Bees, if you can appreciate Dead Bees then you could probably do Blemish, but Blemish is a waaaay harder listen, it took me a few listens to get it, but now i love it. I think its one of the best albums and it is also one of the most depressing albums of all time probably.
The most realest anime/tv show i've ever seen. It is truly real and i learned how real life can be it is not how movies and tv show portray these days, it is simple yet difficult. How characters are described in this anime is how people truly are in real life, i loved it. Maybe will watch it someday again in the future if possible. Until then take care, goodbye.
Such an unforgettable series, I wish i could watch it all again. It was the first time me and my mother found common ground in years, it was great to see something bring us together again too.
There have been people like him throughout history. Scattered throughout time, these people are the most terrifyingly fantastic and brilliant. They make death seem like an art, and are almost admirable. They are among the most calm and collective people, yet seeing their stare brings unimaginable terror to the depths of ones very existence. And the worst, most unimaginably horrific part, is their actions seem to have no reason. They almost seem like a tool of death. Johan embodies this, thus he is genius in creation. My favourite antagonist.
I just finished watch monster, honestly i never felt boring watch each chapter, this anime is the greatest anime that i ever watched, it gave me a vibe that no other anime can give me, even there's good anime i've watched before but this anime is different than any other anime
I finished watching Monster about two days ago and it's definitely one of my favorite animes. Even though, I was rooting for Tenma, I still couldn't help but like all the characters that were going against him. Everything about it is absolutely amazing and even the ending felt satisfying, despite it creating a whole new mystery that will never be solved. It was also pretty funny to hear german names being pronounced with a japanese accent.
i literally love this song like from the bottom of my heart, everytime i listen to this i get goosebumps remembering the first time i decided to watch monster, such a masterpiece.
Not only are these lyrics unrealistically compatible with the arc and overall content of this OST, but I truly do believe these lyrics, specifically them, are the best I have ever heard. They encapsulate so much, it IS genius. I always try to envision a musical artist converting their intentions into a song with some idea that they are, in the best cases, guiding other humans to access ideas and feelings that may be so surreal and profound... Like these lyrics!!
"I was attracted to the Monster material by the moral dilemma faced by its central character. The calm surface of the music giving way to darker undercurrents signifying the conscience of the lead protagonist and the themes of morality, fate, resignation, and free will. " - David Sylvian This is what Sylvian said about this song.
@@Keksi No, the novel is "written" by Weber. Naoki did it that way so Monster would be even more realistic. But anyways, it tells us a lot of inform before and after Johan's birth. and I must say it's such a great and very interesting read. Oh my god. ....... I watched this show when I was younger. But I never stopped to realize they had him part of this. David Sylvian. The Man my Mother Named me after. Is part of Monster

My favorite part about Johan? Was that he simply wasn't there. by this i mean, he was...ethereal. though a majority of the story. always one step behind him. always treading into haunts he had left. The damage already done, almost forgotten even in some cases. He had this chilling presence, spoken of in hushed, scared whispers by all manner of horrific people in the underworld and beyond. in the cracks of alleys, in the shadows. in halls of government sites. And yet, when you look upon him. Its angelic. Not in a mere beautiful meaning of the word...but, like angels, he is absent. cold. other worldly...and simply. not. there. That was how i read him and how empty and devoid he was made him all the more chilling. the only souls spared were those he had a childish 'debt' to...and those were sparse. and the only ones that were kept alive, playing the game, willing or not, well, all they loved and held dear was taken slowly but surely by him. That was his '''gift''' to them. His '''Love''' even i dare say. Truly terrifying and I commend the author for such a character that actually disturbed me in ways more overt villain's seldom do.
it’s been over a year since i’ve finished monster and this ending hit me with so much nostalgia lol. i wish i could watch this series for the very first time again..
I was so in love with this ost. When every episode ended and this started playing, the atmosphere always felt so dreamy and I stuck around to listen to it every ep.
Whenever I listen to this song, I get a strong urge to just cry, let out a helpless stream of tears that runs down my face endlessly as I stare defeated into the nothingness. But I never can. Guess that’s just a product of my life. What do I have to cry about? What hardship is worth those tears. My distant, empathy numb family? No, living in an environment void of empathy is nothing compared to what others go through, what right do I have to be sad. I’ve had a few harsh things happen to me, a few tense moments. Verbal abuse definitely , physical? Depends on your definition. But what’s a few demeaning and degrading words, and a few childhood beatings to those who truly struggle. Why should I cry. And so after all of this thinking, I tell my self, this is why I’m never able to cry when I listen to this song. For the love of life, I won’t cry. Won’t I?

@Df D exactly!! that is why abortion should be legal anywhere in the world, because children are not to blame for the irresponsibility and selfishness of their "parents" in bringing them into this world to suffer, growing up without love and hungry because his parents did not know what they were getting into when they brought him into a world that is going from bad to worse, economically, socially, politically and environmentally

Lol some people here are comparing Light with Johan. That's utter nonsense. If Johan and Light would meet each other Johan would convince Light to write his own name in the Death Note. It's as simple as that.

Awesome nicely written
It's told in Another Monster.
awesome
thank you
Lady Grinning Soul Nina never truly understood Johan because at the end, she let him go and be in the past and lived her life without him.
He's tired.
True. David Sylvian himself said so in the booklet coming with
the Monster OST that he was inspired by Tenma to write the lyrics: "I was
attracted to the Monster material by the moral dilemma faced by its central character.
So relatable!
That lyric near the end fits Tenma the best:
"How can the right thing be so wrong? I found mistakes where they don't belong"
Going back more, it sounds more like the song of Bonaparta. Him repenting for all his crimes and having guilt for being the progenitor of all things bad that happens in the show, directly or indirectly.
The lyrics are so strong , deep and highly expressive
This song expresses the message that MONSTER

It's literally what makes it a brilliant anime, having the protagonist become a villain, slipping more and more into the darkness, bringing so much conflict into the audiences minds, of who we should be rooting for.

Do you know the artist?
Three ways I see it. I am copying some from someone else I guess but here it is:
1) He is pretending to smile
2) He is genuinely curious about why people around him are in delight
3) He is ready to bawl his eyes out
Johan is appearing as if he is smiling but his cheeks doesn't lift up.
I took the cheeks not lifting line from @rockbellstormcloud7365

It’s meant to correlate to johan in the end which is why it’s the end theme , not scary enough to make you run or fear … but .. almost … nice enough to trust it .?.?.?
A character story alignment
Johans amazing ability to appear just right for you to lull you down in his hands
"Heartbeat" and "Bamboo Houses" are two more top notch Sylvian/Sakamoto collaborations I'd really recommend.
yeah i'd say the smartest thing is to start with Sylvian's more pop-ish songs and then listen to Dead Bees, if you can appreciate Dead Bees then you could probably do Blemish, but Blemish is a waaaay harder listen, it took me a few listens to get it, but now i love it.
I'm intrigued that David sang this ending, even more considering Johan appearance is almost identical to him.
I just can`t believe what of masterpiece I watch one month ago, Monster it's definitely best than all current manga, even Death Note :))
Death note is not an option near monster. As a death note fan, death note is a cartoon compared to monster
Ikr some kids still say aot is better than monster lol
@@tronalddump6768 They are different genres, no need to compare them, each one is a masterpiece on their own context :)
Such an unforgettable series, I wish i could watch it all again.
It was the first time me and my mother found common ground in years, it was great to see something bring us together again too.
I wanna cry now.
Seeing Johan sad face, hearing this enchanting yet sad song makes me want tear up.
Johan is one of the best protagonist of all time. So realistic, he might as well be amongst us right now lol
+darkchamberofdark666 Get rekt by basic knowledge of storytelling.
+Michael H Except that he's an antagonist, and that he's so unreal that he could never possibly exist in the real world.
+Michael H He's closer than u think.........Just kidding
There have been people like him throughout history. Scattered throughout time, these people are the most terrifyingly fantastic and brilliant. They make death seem like an art, and are almost admirable. They are among the most calm and collective people, yet seeing their stare brings unimaginable terror to the depths of ones very existence. And the worst, most unimaginably horrific part, is their actions seem to have no reason. They almost seem like a tool of death.
Johan embodies this, thus he is genius in creation. My favourite antagonist.
+AwilAn Who are these people you're referring to?
In monster we learn..the difference between those kid who grow with love or hate,it's shape them what they will become later

Bruh I watched it in dub so Idk

Johan was undoutedly a Monster but the true Monster is society itself that created people like Johan.
I don't understand how this song manages to both comfort and disturb me
I've always imaged the opening to reflect Johan's character, and this ending a mirror of Tenma's. Two souls so remarkably different, woven together.
i literally love this song like from the bottom of my heart, everytime i listen to this i get goosebumps remembering the first time i decided to watch monster, such a masterpiece.
Doctuhhhh Tenmaaaa
DOCTA TENMA
DIETUHHH!
WATASHI TENMA
OR THE DUB
"DOCTUR TENMAH!!"
Deeetaaaaa
"
- David Sylvian
This is what Sylvian said about this song.
@@DonHaka dude, thanks a ton for relaying!
My insights are trustworthy and all heck every now and again.
@@lucabaar1 No problem, as a follower of David Sylvian i would of course want everybody to know what a brilliant lyricist and musician he is.
It makes sense to have David make a song for an anime with a character so Sylvian-esque as Johan
In my language, malay/indo, Johan it means 'The Champion'.
No wonder if he was the good one antagonist I ever seen.
ya betul
That's interesting... Is it also written the same way? Salam dari Jerman

This is one of those shows that I want a sequel of so bad but at the same time think it wrapped up perfectly as is.
Same here
it actually has a sequel. but only in the form of a novel.
@@Kimi-xp2th Yeah, Another Monster is an amazing novel!
Wasn’t it just a retelling of the story from Johan’s perspective with a bit more info on what happened after the original ended?
@@Keksi No, the novel is "written" by Weber. Naoki did it that way so Monster would be even more realistic. But anyways, it tells us a lot of inform before and after Johan's birth. and I must say it's such a great and very interesting read. First couple of pages are kinda confusing but you will understand it if you read the whole thing.
I CAN'T MOVE ON FROM THIS MASTERPIECE
There is no Anime, no scratch that, there is story like Monster man, not from what I've seen, it's truly a 1 of a kind series.

The first time I listened this song I imagined Johan singing it
+Nana Oniani The man who sings this looked like Johan when he was young
+The Sphinx yeah , David his really look like johan when he was young ,
E-ew..... JOHAN IS SO CREEPY AND SINGING?! NOOO
Ew gross .. Johan can't sing.. because he can't love...
@@princessthyemis wow ... i found someone who thinks like me .. saw your reply after i replied 😂💙
Oh my god. ....... I watched this show when I was younger. But I never stopped to realize they had him part of this. David Sylvian. The Man my Mother Named me after. Is part of Monster
Well yes, he found the story and its characters captivating so therefore he wrote and recorded this song with the Japanese guy who made the music.
What a cool mother
Also, that picture, the anime one , is a stark copy of the david sylvia picture on back of words with the shaman LP , all those years ago.
Respect others taste but for me, Monster manga is peak high 10/10 with my fav antagonist, one of my fav mc and side cast, i also love pluto and 20th century boys both 10/10 imo
What about Billy Bat?
@@professorcookie1744 haven’t read yet
Beautiful song, and something I haven't seen anyone mention is how absolutely stunning the artwork is. It's one of the most beautiful I have ever seen
This Anime is just not limited to being an Animation, it is a Beautiful work of Art.
Yeah, a masterpiece!
Just finished it after 6 months watching it. It's a masterpiece
I was so in love with this ost. When every episode ended and this started playing, the atmosphere always felt so dreamy and I stuck around to listen to it every ep.
I regretted when I finished watching it in full.
What a masterpiece.

Won’t I?
i havnt rewatched the anime for like 10yrs now, when i came across this all the good old memories rushed back to me, what a wonderful anime.
Fun Fact about their jp voice cast:
-Tenma's VA also voices Hei from Darker than Black and King Bradley in FMA:B (who's basically hitler and in Monster, Tenma was trying to stop a Hitler-like character)
-Johan's VA also voices Mello in Death Note as well as Yusuke in Yu Yu Hakusho
-Lunge's VA is Jonathan Joestar's father in JOJO part 1
Why is this so DIVINE!? 😭😭
David Sylvian is the reason why
