Shame that the glory days of these awesome machines seems to be behind us. I believe that I heard that up to 5 current runners in UH including Shane’s Home Street, are former Ms Budweiser hulls. I was born in Guntersville, AL..so you could say I’m definitely connected to the sport. ;-)
I was once told when these boats crash, that the drivers whole cockpit detaches like a pod to help save the driver. Was any of that true? Cause these videos dont seem to catch no pods flying away from the rest of the boats.
Chip Hanauer's last race was in 1999. It's 2023 now, so Chip has been retired from racing for 24 years. My how time flies when you are having fun! 🥳
