You made this for years ago and you are totally wrong it is for them to keep an eye on our accounts and Snoop as they want throughout privacy

A very clear explanation of the difference between the two accounts

Use a local account. You don't need anyone else spying on you. Disable Cortana in Group Policy or the registry also. Turn off everything in settings. Microsoft does not need to record your typing or voice or use your camera to record you or have access to your documents. Windows 10 is the most instrusive operating system out there.

Be sure to check before going outside to ensure that Microsoft isn't sending black helicopters to circle around your home, as well.

Bingo, this channel isn't revealing all the facts. It talks only about superficial shallow depths. You won't learn anything deep here. Windows 10 has been known and tested to be worst OS regarding privacy concerns and tracking. Even after you turn everything off, they still track a lot of things.
I suggest spybot beacon to disable this invasive practice of theirs.
I definitely wouldn't take anything on this channel seriously after watching this video. I suggest industry veterans such as jaystwocents, linus tech tips, hardware unboxed, gamers nexus, just to name a few.

All of the "nice" features mentioned are always accessible from a local account and always have been.

Good video. I just got a new PC and I signed up with a Microsoft account on accident. I want a local account. I see the option to change it but I'm worried about something going wrong or it not changing over properly. Is there any problem I could face switiching over or anything??

I appreciate that this wasn't a video on "spying". Several videos I've seen spend more time talking about privacy. I feel like people no longer understand what spying means, and why technology is where it is today. It's just a growing paranoia. Microsoft having my personal info, I could care less. Someone hacking my account and stealing all my personal info, passwords, and banking info, that is a serious concern. That said, the only thing I care about is what I can gain, and what might complicate things, having a Microsoft account or local.

Here I thought this video was about why Microsoft wants you to pay for their formerly free apps. But instead it's all about data usage.

I just got Windows 10 and while trying to set up Defender, to clear the yellow ⚠marks, I can sign in fine with Microsoft at the Virus section, but the Account Protection Sign In doesn't log me in saying Incorrect Password (for Windows), now which account are they referring to here, because Microsoft Account isn't signing in and I haven't set up the Windows Profile account, I just start up windows normally and use it (at home PC)

I have had a micrsoft accont for about 25 years I think, but with all this password changing and Hotmail going down, replacing computers from time to time, I can't open that 'microsoft account'. Can you advise whether I can eliminate the sign-in? Because I have had to destroy three computers where I was locked out when I forgot my own password, and could not after extensive efforts find any reasonable way to recover the password. My computers are entirely private in my home where I live alone and nobody else ever uses it.

I reinstalled windows because I had accidentally used my Microsoft account In the store and it highjacked my system. I hate the account system, it makes tracking you much easier.
Can’t wait to make the jump to Linux, screw Microsoft.

just makes it easier for Microsoft/google to steal your info/identity with one of these accounts. without one, makes it harder is all. I created a MS account-checked said account in 30 days on what they collected and seen bank info and cc info that was collected from just logging into my banks site and my cc site. yet MS says it's for diagnostic purposes-there is no reason this info should be on MS servers. total garbage in my opinion... Just a legal way to steal your identity easier.

im running a clean install of windows 10 installed with local account, did not link or sync my pc and did all the privacy things, turn every thing off.....i do have a Microsoft account. so decided to log in on the web and have a look.....and its all there my activity and history etc. so my conclusion is....no your stuff dont just stay on your pc when using a local account, skype onedrive and stuff i never use it and delete as soon as i do a clean install, my pc says there nothing linked....but its there on Microsofts website.

I thought they were the same thing, but it turns out I’ve been logging in with my Microsoft account not my Windows account, but I don’t know how to login to my windows

    • @WindowsChimp
      @WindowsChimp  5 месяцев назад

There is no need to login with Local Account, if you are using Microsoft Account, you are good to go. However, if you want to sign-in with local account, you will have to create a new user account and don't enter your Microsoft Account Details.

"Sorry, Cannot connect to Microsoft services, if it persists then search for "network problems". Can anyone tell me how should I fix it ? I reset my pc to factory rest but I still can't get to Microsoft account. I am on Windows 8

I got that same error, while being on windows 8.1, My solution was that when I upgraded to Windows 10, My Microsoft account worked. If your Microsoft account doesn't work with Windows 8 anymore, upgrade to Windows 10.
