- Hey guys, customer had me install his RAMBAR and made a little video on do's and don'ts and what to watch out for when installing. I know, I talk a lot but it can save you some time watching this :)

Thanks for posting this video, I'm in the process of putting a Rambar on my 22 RAM Rebel. I already started drilling the holes on the side above the flat washer, decided to take a break, and I'm glad I did. From what you're showing, those drilled holes aren't even necessary. I don't trust the templates on the top bed rail and (like you) wanted to get the bar on and then drill where the holes need to be. I think there are two different versions of the Rambar from what I've seen. My instructions called for the 16 bolts, but I've also seen directions that call for 8 of those bolts. In my order, I only received 8, but fortunately the company that I purchased from sent me the missing bolts.
Glad you found the video then! Ya that company he bought it from must've sent him the wrong bolt kit or something. so weird.... and the whole thing can be set up without using any templates too and that just seems like way more room for error to use them. if you want the RAMBAR wording in a color change vinyl, just let me know!
@@OhKeiGarage agreed. I'm afraid to trust the template, drill the holes in, and then they aren't exactly where the bar needs to bolt down. I'm digging the gold accents on the TRX, did you do those?

thanks for the video I was told no drilling needed from people at OEM that's why there's a pocket mount nobody wants to drill into a new truck bed how strong is pocket mount thanks let me know what you think
i don't know how else you would install it if you didn't drill holes through unless the pocket mount is just as strong. not sure how that would work. i personally don't like drilling either so if the pocket mount way is just as sturdy, that is what i would do! either way, you never see the holes again and as long as you keep them dry with something, paint etc. you should be ok!
What material is the outline of the emblem? I have a GMC Sierra I want to remove the chrome from the borders and not sure the best way how.
I love the look of this roll bar. Now I am wondering if I can install on my 2021 Ford F350 long bed. Change out the RAMBAR logo for US Air Force, or Godzilla, since I have the 7.3L. I also have the Retrax Pro Tonnaeu but again, love the look of the bar and great install tips sir...thank you.
find someone with a TRX and measure the bed width and that'll tell you if it'll fit lol

For a Mopar product, this install is awfully aftermarket. I really thought it would be a pretty easy bolt-on install.

We're there no pre drilled holes for lights? Also could the top holes you bought bolts for have been the ones for lights?
no, only holes for the sleeve that connects the tubing. definitely didn't make sense for a light to mount there. if you buy one, you will see :)
Do you happen to know the size of the bolts used? I picked up a used RAM bar with no hardware and was hoping to find the info before my days off
i don't :/ it was stuff that came with the kit and i didn't pay any attention to it. once you get it, just do some measuring and pick up hardware from home depot. it's not special hardware
Great video! I have found a new in box Ram Bar for $200 and will be installing on my 2022 Power Wagon. How high above the cab does this bar stick up? Curious if I will still be able to fit into my garage.
right on!! that's crazy cheap. i kinda remember it being about the same hight of the cab, that way if you mounted lights on it, it wasn't sticking up way high
Hey buddy you know if this bar gonna work on my 2018 Ram 1500 classic body
i would assume so if the bed was the same width as the TRX. id measure your inside lip to inside lip and see what dimensions the TRX is. there might be schematics online of the the dimensions. if not, i know the go rhino company makes a universal bar i installed on another TRX and they are adjustable widths. looked pretty good as well. same concept

not sure man, didn't pay attention to that, only knew the ones that i had to buy extra of at home depot.
