I don't have a problem activating my core standing but I have a problem keeping it activated for long. Using the deep breathing techniques is helping me and I can feel my core working extra when breathing deeply. Thank you.
What a brilliant video!! I had no idea that those muscles were part of my core! Thank you! SUBSCRIBED! I'm up for the challenge and already can't wait for the next video!
What a brilliant start to my training. I can feel muscles working that I didn't even know I had! They say you can't do anything without a strong core. Can't wait to get on with the next video. This one is really working for me.
When you say cough and tighten your core, do you mean tighten your pelvic area or your stomach? I've been trying to engage my core for months now and I still can't do it
I started doing home workouts about 2 days ago and I don’t think I’m doing the core engagement right or any workout the correct way 😢 but I started to feel that when I cough or move my abs feel sore is that a good sign ?
Hi Nataly, when you cough, that activation that you feel, should be maintained when doing your home core workouts. If you are feeling sore there when you cough or activate, it is a good sign. It means you have been activating and working your muscles. They just aren't used to doing that kind of activation or movement. Keep it up. As long as you don't fee pain into your lower back when doing the movements :)
Life Full of Zest it’s more like after I’m done working out my abdominal muscles feel really sore also my glutes and legs but thank you so much 😊 I’m also trying to work on full body but idk if it’s because I’m not used to it my arms and legs got really sore the first day that I feel weak I couldn’t keep up doing any leg workouts anything you would recommend for strengthening 🙂
Your Shoulders shouldn't be lifting when engaging your core. Try making an extra effort to squeeze your shoulder blades together and drop them down when activating your core and see it that works. It may increase the difficulty, but with practise, it will get a lot easier. Just start with standing activations for now until you get the hang of it. I hope that helps :)
Wow soo súper difficult. I hope this helps. I am trying to bracing but because my pelvis is so far back I do not brace in good position. With this exercise I hope I can make a difference.
It will definitely help. Just keep pushing through the difficulty and you will find that the more you practise, the easier and more rewarding it will become. It is so worth it. The difference is very noticeable, you just need to be patient and consistent🙂
Is this the correct technique when lifting weights? I find my back hurts doing things like deadlifts and I am struggling to find a position that doesn’t hurt my lower back.
Are you to hold your pee for the whole duration of the exercise per say? I’m having a hard time activating the core with the pelvic, I feel my pelvic is not strong at all. What should I do?
Great informative video..! Js ine query do we have to hold it lik that even while breathing in? Or during that time loosen it and than hold it tight back while exhaling?
You must try maintain the activation while inhaling and exhaling. Try hold for 10 seconds at a time and build up that amount of time as you get stronger :)
@@LifeFullofZest I can hold it for long long time. I wasn't just sure of the concept. Thank you for clarifying. Just to be clear one last time, I can hold the stomach and pelvic muscle to activate core evn while deep breathing in and out? Like evn while stomach inflates and deflates
Ive had disabiliting back pain for 3 years now. Im a profssional ballet and break dancer and have had to stop completely :/ Tons of MRI’s and treatments and nothing is working even the slightest. My core feels out of balance is it possible that could be causing the back lain?
When you say stabilizing your pelvic along with your core, like you're holding your pee when you have to go to the bathroom really bad.. Is that the same as doing kegels?
It will be really difficult at first because it is new to you. But keep practicing and you’ll eventually get the hang of it. The key is to try maintain the activation while breathing in and out.
Don’t worry about the shaking, it is just because your muscles aren’t used activating in that way. You are on the right track. Just make sure you are not straining your back when you are activating. Take lots of rests and ease yourself into it. A great place to start would be with our free 6-week program. You can access the program here bit.ly/ActiveZest6WeekProgramFree Hope you enjoy :)☺️🌸

The coughing tip is very useful. I've never felt table top position was hard until today lol. I was shaking once I started engaging my core.
That is so great to hear. It makes such a difference when you can feel that you are activating correctly. Well done. :)
Was your core sore or were your legs shaking? Idk if I was doing it right.
This is the best video I’ve seen so far on engaging the core! I now finally know what it feels like! Thank you!

is it normal to fee shaking when trying to activate your core, i have lots of back pain and usually use my neck when doing anything related to abs
I can just hold it for a few sec only
That is ok. You will find that with practise, your capabilities will improve, so keep it up :)

The mere activation of my core section blocks my lungs. Had that issue since my birth. I can just control the diaphragm.
Is feeling a vibration . In your lower abdo can be a cause of hernia.

Thank you:)
Hi I'm trying to engage core even while I work in kitchen when I'm in standing position , but in sometime my back starts aching like I could feel the tension in the back as well , pls tell me if I'm on right track???

Hi Trupti, Yes this can happen, don't activate through pain, and just make sure that your pelvis and spine are in neutral when doing so.
This happens to me too
my legs and thighs starts to shake when doing the table top position is it normal??
That does tend to happen. Just make sure you keep breathing, and maintain a good activation ;)
Tummy should b tight? And bellybutton should b in right? Not too much but a bit?
I feel dizzy/light-headed after like 30 seconds of holding my stomach in, is that normal as a beginner?
Did you see the reply on the other comment? Let me know :)
Damn this make my legs hurt
Make a 12 min video for something that takes 2 mins to explain.. oh wait

@@LifeFullofZest You're Welcome! Also i forgot to mention last time i commented, this is the best core activation video i've seen so far.

You shouldn't be feeling light headed. Are you breathing in and out deeply as you are holding in your tummy?
