    The fact that he
    1. Cheated multiple times
    2. Did it on stream
    3. Was trying to distract his opponent while in the process of cheating

      Lifetime bans are interesting. I think if he has been consistently doing this and beating players out of very important tourneys then I think a year + is valid as well as when he comes back he will always have that stain on his record. Lifetime is very harsh i haven’t been in the tcg scene for a long time but as bad scummy and frustrating as this is a lifetime seems slightly harsh

    99% of people you play against won’t cheat, but it’s still just optimal to cut/shuffle your opponents deck (or cut your own) for more random draws, then when you do run across a cheater you’ll already have these habits ingrained in you and it’ll be harder for them to pull stuff off

    I feel like the "top card never changing" thing happens a lot even on streams. I don't think a lot of those people are trying to do anything wrong, though, they just don't realize what they're doing. I played someone locally who started during covid, and they thought Judge's "shuffle your hand into your deck" just meant put the cards into your deck somewhere random, because they had only played Marnie irl before 😅 After watching stuff like this, though, I'll definitely try to pay more attention to it all

    • @Seventschiko
      @Seventschiko Год назад +4

      oh no this is completely intentional. it takes a good amount of a) technique to not shuffle the top 3-5 cards b) you can see him clearly distract his opponent multiple times when he does cheat, he's also known as a cheater. I'm sorry to tell you but, if someone does this it's 100% always intentional. You're supposed to use 2-3 types of different shuffeling techniques each time you shuffle, because even just shuffeling repeteatly with one technique is flawed. Trust no one, always cut their decks. Always. You don't need to shuffle their decks, but CUT it. that way he can't cheat (on his own deck at the very least) and if someone shuffles your deck, ALWAYS reshuffle or cut it. always.

    I think this should be someone dedicated to it, like a card dealer, picked up by organizers of tournament to do card shuffling like this (like we see in tournaments of card games like poker) instead. I don't know why in this case players themselves do it.

      In big tournaments you have hundreds of games at once. It's not really feasible.

    I guess the lesson here is to always shuffle TF out of your opponents deck at every opportunity you have

      I tend to be trusting when I play. I know I have no intention of cheating, so I'm trusting, but now I shouldn't be lol.

    Every pro pokemon tcg player does this.
    Most of them are not dumb enough to get caught.
    Shuffle control of your deck is very easy to do without anyone catching it
