What is the proper way to shuffle a double sleeved commander deck? I usually split it into four piles, shuffle two piles together (shuffle A), split those back up into two piles, shuffle the other two piles together (shuffle B), split those back up, shuffle one pile from shuffle A into one pile from shuffle B, shuffle the remaining two piles, then shuffle both A and B together, and cut the deck a few times.
The one perk of having pain in my hands that makes shuffling incredibly hard, is that I ask others to shuffle for me. This will never be a problem for me, because I literally can't. If I draw well, it's your fault. Lmao.

Webcam Magic is cancer. Played it a few times during COVID lockdown, got really sick of playing rando's who act like total jerks because they're anonymous behind a screen, and can troll and berate as much as they want and then just log out of a game. The anonymity of the online platform is the worst. Magic should only be played in person, where people can and should be held accountable for their behavior.
It is insane to me that this guy apparently had multiple recorded webcam tournaments under his belt before getting caught. That "shuffling" he's doing is the most blatant nonsense ever and anyone with working eyes should be able to see it. One watch of the start of this video and I almost thought he was doing it on purpose, it was that blatant!

A lot of other MTG RUclipsrs have started doing videos on MTG cheaters since you started this series, but nobody does it quite as good as you Nikachu! Keep up the excellent work
Recently I played a 3 player game of commander at my lgs, and one of the players, on top of being verbally obnoxious and playing a bit of a toxic deck, I look over at him next to me while he’s shuffling and I kid you not, he’s shuffling faceup like his deck was a magazine, he was pondering the cards like pages in a book, he was blatantly cheating, I calmly called him out on it, gathered my cards, and proceeded to lean against a nearby wall while doing my best Wyatt Earp impersonation. He looked at me knowingly, and said “what?”, I replied “ you know what you were doing.” Never have I seen such a mix of shame and sadness. He hasn’t been back since. I later learned from another player at the store that he has seen him called out for cheating by others. Lots of people shuffle cheat.
What sucks is that for the rest of us that play this commander, the CEDH community kind of associates it with cheating. This deck can win without cheating but it only takes one cheater to ruin the reputation of a commander.
I have played him the other night was so bad i caught him putting cards in his hand by asking him each turn how many cards he had in hand. Then draws a card for turn supposed to have 6 as he had 5 asked 7 cards in hand seen him putting it in hand from lap hes a clown

People shuffling essentially face up is such a pet peeve. I can see your deck and so can you. You bet you're going to be shuffling until you do it face down.
This guy was in our Discord server for a while, got a lot of praise for winning the event. Eventually the whole cheating scandal came out with him and he was pretty quickly ousted from the server. Crazy part about it is, he's a very knowledgeable player and has even helped me out with a deck that I've been working on for over a year at this point. But that doesn't justify the cheating or trying to play the victim regarding it.

@@WXVA9 meh, it's not that serious. Like, I play with a ton of new players I ain't gonna give em shit for shuffling in a way I don't like. Even if we are playing for prizes, I ain't gonna worry about it cause people sometimes don't realize they aren't moving specific cards.
It wasn't only that he was shuffling face up, it was grabbing a single card and moving it plus never moving the top of his deck. Watching him shuffle made it obvious to me that he was stacking his deck, because he wasn't just grabbing wads and shuffling.

Make no mistake, if an mtg player is consistently getting top 32 in every major event they attend or have a win rate of 65% or more, they're cheating. You nailed it that webcam magic is just catching them than in-person magic.
I haven't played webcam Magic yet but if/when I do, I will split my deck in to 4 piles and then ask each opponent in turn to choose which pile to put in the library first, meaning the final, unselected pile will be at the top of my library at that time.
Just standardize the rules for shuffling. Idk why we keep letting the players do whatever they want in this part of the game, when it’s far and away the biggest way people cheat.
First, MTG is simply beautiful, almost artistic in the flexible way you can maximize your creativity. I just kinda, more or less, really despise the flow of edh/commander. But its guys like this that really take the cake. Guh-ROSS. I am glad the communities adjust and protect the healthy players!❤❤❤❤
I quit MTG because of shuffle cheaters and this was back during Ice Age. My opponents would jesters cap and shuffle stack my deck. I'm amazed that this cheating still exists.
If you have to cheat, clearly you're not enjoying the game. It doesn't matter if it's for prizes or casual play. Winning should be a byproduct of your skill as a deck builder, wits to know what to do and when to do it, and being honest to your opponents and yourself.
The only disagreement I have about in person vs webcam cheating is you don't have a judge to check somebodies lap/deck for marked/tampered cards etc. since they are at home. I feel like it would be easier to come up with a clever way of cheating that would not get you caught.

The one perk of having pain in my hands that makes shuffling incredibly hard, is that I ask others to shuffle for me. This will never be a problem for me, because I literally can't. If I draw well, it's your fault. Lmao.
😂😂😂😂😂😂"how did you got banned?" "Oh you know...not big deal,i recorded myself cheating..." 😂😂😂😂😂😂omg
...multiple times.
"Webcam CEDH tournament for prizes" is the dumbest thing I've heard all year. Just asking for trouble.
Doesn't feel like you watched the video with this comment.
Its actually easier to be found out on webcam.
@@appleender959 Specially with triple the eyes on you and less distractions.
Whenever it's mentioned I have to just marvel at how sleek OBS is. AND OPEN SOURCE?? It's just so clean and well built I can't get over it. Thank you, that is all.
Webcam Magic is cancer. Played it a few times during COVID lockdown, got really sick of playing rando's who act like total jerks because they're anonymous behind a screen, and can troll and berate as much as they want and then just log out of a game. The anonymity of the online platform is the worst. Magic should only be played in person, where people can and should be held accountable for their behavior.
same iwth D&D. stupid nonsense like "d&d beyond" is ruining it
So glad you posted another video
Failure to clearly cut the deck should just result immediate disqualification for all tournaments with monetary prizes
I never knew about these Webcam magic things. Thats super cool. I might check it out. Learn something new every day. Thanks Nikachu!
It’s called “Spelltable” and the platform is owned by Wizards of the Coast. This play exploded during Covid but still many people use it today.
It is insane to me that this guy apparently had multiple recorded webcam tournaments under his belt before getting caught. That "shuffling" he's doing is the most blatant nonsense ever and anyone with working eyes should be able to see it. One watch of the start of this video and I almost thought he was doing it on purpose, it was that blatant!
people are sccared to call out blacks, and businesses, tournaaments, etc are scared to ban them.
if you ban them they might unleash their inner ape, and start a riot, a lawsuit, or whatever else.
shut up and deal with it, this is the world that WOTC's DEI obsession gets you.
A lot of other MTG RUclipsrs have started doing videos on MTG cheaters since you started this series, but nobody does it quite as good as you Nikachu! Keep up the excellent work
The only time I’ve pulled a card from anywhere else, it was as a joke to actually tell them they won!!! "Psych you mind!"😂🎉😂🎉
I don’t understand folks not cutting other peoples decks! When I play with my friends we cut before the game starts and after shuffles
I always enjoy your commentary on cheating video
I bet he even had a computer up his butt telling him what the next move is.
That is some of the worst shuffling I’ve ever seen on spell table
What sucks is that for the rest of us that play this commander, the CEDH community kind of associates it with cheating. This deck can win without cheating but it only takes one cheater to ruin the reputation of a commander.
He's being so fucking blatant its ALMOST not funny
But it is funny.
I have played him the other night was so bad i caught him putting cards in his hand by asking him each turn how many cards he had in hand. Then draws a card for turn supposed to have 6 as he had 5 asked 7 cards in hand seen him putting it in hand from lap hes a clown
Bullshit. He hasn’t played since January 😂
Plus he was out of his home state for work for a month and I have his deck at home so 🤷♀️ way to go liar
According to the CEDH community at the LGS that I go to, this guy use to go and play there. He hasn't shown up for a long while though, and he always gloated every single time he won. They posted this video in the discord for my lgs so that everyone was aware.
There are some my favorite videos. Old cheat video is how I found you. Thanks for a great video
Bandit Queef here definitely doesn’t pay his taxes.
i am 1:50 in: wtf is that shuffling? xD
I would never play with someone that shuffles like that
Nikachu i love when you do videos calling out cheaters! I end up rewatching them for years :D
I don't play magic, have no interest in the game, no dog in this game but wow, what an obvious scumbag, good thing that guy was banned from playing with anyone else
Imagine taking a fun casual format, playing it competitively for money, and then going the extra step of cheating on top of that!
He thought he was in a yugioh tournament.
4:17 reminds me of when I was showing magic to my brother for the first time and I threw a Sol ring on top without looking at any of the other cards so he could have fun playing as many cards as possible…than there weren’t any lands
I like how the top right guy is using a Flesh and Blood sleeve, the guy got great taste
TY for exposing this!
Thank you Nikachu
I saw you this weekend at the modern tournament in St. Louis. I wanted to say something to you but thought “it’s no way Nikachu is here in my hometown.” Thank you for coming out and congrats on the win!!!
Hahaha, you know, the most common question I got this weekend was like “are you nikachu/are you a RUclipsr?” Yeah, most people don’t realize I’m actually a competitive player.
@@NikachuMTG Competitive is an understatement! Piloting the Merfolk to perfection! I highly regret not saying anything now haha. Would have loved to get something signed by one of my favorite Magic content creators. Thanks again for coming out! What was your toughest match up?
@@joshnelson6377 My hardest match up was probably this Rakdos Waste Not deck in round 1. I could have got blown away by that. I'll be going to Chicagoland in July if you'll be there, so you may have another chance (or you can get someone to get a signature).
Why people play if they going to cheat? What is the satisfaction of winning with cheating
People shuffling essentially face up is such a pet peeve. I can see your deck and so can you. You bet you're going to be shuffling until you do it face down.
Im glad youre still making content 🍻
Love the vid's keep them coming!
Love these videos, keep up the great work sir!
Why play the game if you're going to cheat? Cheating to win is never fun!
Best music editing!
Opponent(s) should be able to vote for someone to cut their deck again, at any time, after any shuffle before a card interacts with the deck.
Bro's trying to pull some sleight of hand bs, but doesn't have the dexterity XD
He thought "I'll just move my hands around a bunch, they won't notice, just gotta look busy, busy, busy!" meanwhile he's going at a snail's pace, so much so you can see EVERY cheated "shuffle" he makes XD
The shuffling, I could easily ignore cause I've seen people shuffle like that without cheating, however that lap card was wildly bold.
Any time someone shuffles face up or overhand shuffles in a way that doesn't change the top and bottom of their deck, you should be very sus.
@@appleender959 like I said, that can happen accidentally, especially with the type of players I deal with regularly(new players). So it wouldn't really arouse any suspicion from me by itself.
I don't know why yall are acting like I think what he did was okay, when that's clearly not what I was saying. It's weird.
@@casteanpreswyn7528 And you can use it as a coaching experience with said new players if it continues to be a problem, as opposed to this guy, who made it blatantly obvious what he was up to.
a L3 judge once told me once that Mike Long would play standing on his chair so he could see his opponents hand, but he said it was because he has back problems.
Oh, the best MTG entertainment content maker dropped new video. Luv u bro
1080p high bit rate streams should be mandatory and your deck should never leave the frame.
Make no mistake, if an mtg player is consistently getting top 32 in every major event they attend or have a win rate of 65% or more, they're cheating. You nailed it that webcam magic is just catching them than in-person magic.
"this guy must have some crazy sleight of hand tricks with his shuffling"
boy was i looking so confused at his shuffling like its so weird
Haha got bandit Keith over here with the hidden cards 😂
Pegasus wouldn't need a Millennium Eye to see this cheat.
@@NikachuMTGomg yes!! Haha I wonder if he pulled out his invisible finger gun after he lost too 🤣
Shawn Angel was channeling Criss Angel.
I haven't played webcam Magic yet but if/when I do, I will split my deck in to 4 piles and then ask each opponent in turn to choose which pile to put in the library first, meaning the final, unselected pile will be at the top of my library at that time.
That's a cool idea
Just standardize the rules for shuffling. Idk why we keep letting the players do whatever they want in this part of the game, when it’s far and away the biggest way people cheat.
I've seen Scooby Doo suspects less obvious than this cheater.
If it weren't for those meddling kids and their little camera
this is so pathetic I'd rather lose every game than cheat
The just silent confused disgust at his shuffling 💀
First, MTG is simply beautiful, almost artistic in the flexible way you can maximize your creativity.
I just kinda, more or less, really despise the flow of edh/commander. But its guys like this that really take the cake. Guh-ROSS.
I am glad the communities adjust and protect the healthy players!❤❤❤❤
OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD, IVE BEEN WAITING SO LONG!!! ❤❤❤
I quit MTG because of shuffle cheaters and this was back during Ice Age. My opponents would jesters cap and shuffle stack my deck. I'm amazed that this cheating still exists.
I’m a big believer that if your hands leave the screen, they need to return to the screen like casino dealers, proving there is nothing in their hands
If you have to cheat, clearly you're not enjoying the game. It doesn't matter if it's for prizes or casual play. Winning should be a byproduct of your skill as a deck builder, wits to know what to do and when to do it, and being honest to your opponents and yourself.
Nothing but facts, bro. Nothing but facts. I'd rather lose 20 times and eventually get my deck built right than cheat like a coward and win even once.
@ spoken like a true gamer.
The only disagreement I have about in person vs webcam cheating is you don't have a judge to check somebodies lap/deck for marked/tampered cards etc. since they are at home. I feel like it would be easier to come up with a clever way of cheating that would not get you caught.
Everytime I shuffle my cards, I do a quick shuffle, cut my deck like 6-8 times if my opponent doesn’t cut for me, then shuffle again.
