I swear I just saw you on a southern train
@@RRStuff I’m very much on a northern train right now!
Enjoyable end to a great series, roll on the Central Line!!
If you do the central line, take an air conditioning unit
There is a Wimpy in Swanage and a nice heritage railway.
Lorna can't marry you! she already has a boat husband.
you guys are having way too much fun, fortunately for us.
Loved this! I hope the waiting rooms are open in winter when they are more needed. I have no idea which is the quickest way to Acton Town, I'm sure Lorna is right.
The quickest way to Acton Town?
Well,
I wouldn't start from here.
😒😒
The quickest way is to teleport
I've just checked on the TfL journey planner for how to get from Dagenham Heathway to Acton Town leaving now and it just said to get the District the whole way to Hammersmith and change there. ALso, there are trains that start/end at Dagenham East. (e.g. 07:27 arrival on weekdays leaves again at 07:37.) There's no mention in the working timetable of platform numbers there though.
Also about everything looking the same - prefabrication in generic designs has been a thing since day 1 of railway operations :)
My two favourite girls making films here together!
Brilliant, you two, thanks
Brilliant video Jen and congrats on visiting all the stations on the District line. I'd deffo love to see you buy a unicycle lol. I do also wonder whether even back in the old days people complained about all the stations looking the same lol. Looking forward to see you do all the Central line stations. :)
I should probably get out and start filming it! 🤣
@@JenOnTheMove😂😂😂😂
My Starbucks name is Starlord. I’ve even got it set in the app so they scan it and know that I’m Starlord.
first of all congratulations on visiting every station on the District line theres def lots of lovely stations on this line & i used Upminster a few weeks go when i used the Overground from Romford and used C2C from Upmister to get back into Central London anyway brilliant vlog i really enjoyed this & im looking forward to the Central Line
Yes
Great video. I live at the other end of the District line. Is there still a Wimpy at Upminster? I have been there before but many years ago. Have you done the Met line yet? There are Wimpys at Ruislip and Eastcote. Yes, to get to Acton Town, take District line to Hammersmith and change for Acton Town or if you are on an Ealing Broadway train, may be worth just staying on it to Acton especially if there is no Piccadilly line train in Hammersmith. Remember, Piccadilly line trains are not air conditioned and they can be rather crowded.
You can get a Wimpy in Huddersfield. And very nice (if astonishingly filling!) it is too.😅
Ps. My Starbucks name is Obo.
Bit jealous on the Wimpy front huh lol They are still outfitting the Lowestoft one.....I'll waste away 🤣🤣
5:09 "Practically Essex"?? When you never left the metropolis and you're still very much in it?
Blimey, what an episode! We had Starbucks and marriage talk…… I might need a lie down in a dark room to recover now 😂😂
Lots of fun as usual. Thanks for this. By the way the design in the station floor is actually a Buddhist symbol that goes back centuries. I live in SE Asia and it is often seen in temples in this part of the world and confuses many tourists!
Weird suggestion but race from Upney to Barking Rv’side - District/Overground vs walking.
I’m sure you know how to get a train but i dont know if you know how to walk, so here:
From Upney, turn right after you leave the station
Go right to the end of Upney Lane and turn left
Don’t get distracted by any crossings, keep going to the roundabout
You’ll need get in the third-ish exit (where cars come onto the roundabout from A13 east side) (third-ish because it doesnt really count as cars only enter from there) (not the second, if you go second then you have to wall annoyingly far only to come back on the other side)
Walk onto the A13 and walk down the right side (if you’re going on the left side then walk back to the roundabout and go on the right)
Walk to the trampoline park thingy, and walk down that skip road
Keep going down Renwick Road, you eventually get there (but be prepared for a somewhat long walk down Renwick Rd)
Best Station I used is Dagenham East. You could stand on Eastbound Platform and get the hot exhaust from the staff room to keep you warm while you waited for a train
7:26 Yeah, got to agree with Lorna there, that is a stretch, like a massive stretch
1:56 You can just change at South Kensington, or do what I did:
District to Whitechapel
Elizabeth to Ealing Broadway
District to Acton Town
I moved out of London, back in the 1980’s, from memory I’d take the District line to Mile End,Change to Central Line until Holborn,Change for Westbound Piccadilly line, all the way to Acton Town.
Yes it’s finally here!
Such fun!
To get to Acton Town I reckon change at Whitechapel for Elizabeth Line to Ealing Broadway then District
Sounds like it needs a race.
May all of your rail journeys be rail replacement free
You two make the perfect friend-wives. Hope to see more joint content.
hi to all wee need more ramps and lifts
some of us have heavy gear to put on the tube
not just wheel chairs TFL are getting there slow
Dagenham to Acton town I would District> Whitechapel > Elizabeth Line > Ealing Bway> District >Acton Town. Some of those stations could use a lick of TLC paint
Jen, if you can afford to (and if you want to), you should ride Dubai Metro, trust me you’ll love it (except for this random part that releases heat for some reason in a 40º state)
I belive go to whitechapel and change for the Elizabeth Line to Ealing Broadway, then just take the district to Acton Town :) that's the quickest way
Excellent video Jen, and congratulations on completing the District Line
If I was going to Acton Town, I would stay on the same train to Hammersmith and change there for the Piccadilly Line (but that's probably just me being a lazy -----------) 😂
Very enjoyable video but I do hope TfL are aware how upset Lorna is with the locked waiting rooms 😜
Finally, its been a year!
Hi Jen and Lorna,
Woohoo, I'm back after making 5 complaints about my comments being disallowed...anyway, moving on, I would just like to say how much I enjoyed this vid'log. Always a joy to watch, especially when you team up with other YT celebs...great stuff because everything just comes naturally.
Well done.
Jon B.
I would take the District Line to Whitechapel, then the Elizabeth line Line to Ealing Broadway, then District to Acton Town.
That takes 72 minutes according to Citymapper, at the time of typing this.
TfL's journey planner suggests District to Hammersmith, then change to Picadilly Line, which takes 76 minutes.
Though just taking the District Line direct takes 74 minutes 🤷🏻♀
Problems are it is more than 4mins to change trains at whitechapel. The district can be busy. I would try District to Mile End , Central To Ealing Bdwy then District back to Acton Town
@@highpath4776 Yes, but Whitechapel to Ealing Broadway on the Elizabeth line Line is 23 minutes, and 51 minutes on the District Line, so that allows plenty of time for changing trains.
Are we going to get you doing all the stations on the Romford to Upminster overground? To spice it up there is a level crossing! If you od let me know and I'll buy you the Wimpy and/or afternoon tea :)
Great video, congratulations on completing the District Line (and well done for being brave enough to even attempt the Underground line with the most stations) 🎉.
It would be hilarious if Lorna turned up to the next race in a car on the platform at Dagenham East 😂
Yes
Great video Jen! Glad you finished the line. Was there a church in Hornchurch, and was it horny?
Great video, Hello Lorna you two are Great together as you are both so funny 😂 I am confused as to why all the Waiting Rooms are locked…..I mean what is the point in having a waiting room only for them to lock them all! 🤔
I look forward to seeing your next video 😊
Definitely the best way to Acton Town!!! 😝
(I haven’t looked it up, just wanted to vote. 😊😂😂🎉❤)
Jan you havn't done all of the District Line, you have not taken a District Line train to Southend or Winsor!
RADIATOR LOL!
Hello
Why do they close the waiting rooms?
Instead of central line do the jubilee line
yes get rid of them things tbhey are not safe in london you don't need one
a ebike is far better you ride one you look cool
yes no jeff in the video he's all over the place alot
He's not in every video!
What do you think of Upminster with lots of coffee shops including a Costa Coffee. I have been to Upminster and it is quite a nice place. Even Hornchurch as well. Except that all 5 platforms at Upminster station have lifts and platform 6 doesn’t but it has got a chair lift which I think it hasn’t been used.
It has a nice Wimpy!
Yep it surely does have a Wimpy. And I have been there once. 😄
Jen, if you are serious about moving from Manchester, and if 'Homes Under the Hammer' is to be believed (*big if) then Stoke on Trent & the greater Potteries area seams to be the place to be, particularly if you don't mind a fixer upper when you move there.
When you were pointing at the map saying done it alot when you pointed at Upminster you should of said about to done it
Hi Jen I Think We Will Be My
Friends In The Future
well that was disappointing, not nearly enough wimpy content, great otherwise
I see your friend picked up on wasted electricity on TfL. With heaters on in closed waiting rooms ect. You'll also notice all the station lights on in bright daylight. You find this at most surface underground stations. A lot of TfL station infrastructure is archaic. On top of that it's the attitude of TfL that the money will just flow whatever so nobody is really that bothered, but they must waste £millions every year.
Love love loved this video.
Should you brave Elm Park again, there's a wonderful Costa Coffee 😉
Thanks for a great video ❤❤❤
Would be a good station for a pointless journey with C2C, London Overground and District Line trains.
Brilliant video!
When in Starbucks, I am Spartacus.
in starbucks i use my nickname, "Speedy". it's so funny the look on their faces when they call it out.
No, I’m Spartacus.
