I have both and really stand by them. The orginal wedge has fallen off the wife’s Jeep, been ran over and fallen down 10ft onto the concrete. Super reliable and battery life is nice. She uses it for around a week straight, every night feeding the pigs and the rest of the animals before having to charge. The XT hasn’t had serious use yet but I love it.
They definitely need to make the tailcap version in the full size. I worked security in bars for about 10 years and carried a surefire defender LED with the tail cap and that flashlight got me out of a few bad jams by using it as an impact weapon in a hammer fist method. A full-size wedge with a tail cap and a crenellated bezel like the surefire defender series would be the ultimate self-defense flashlight. Even better than a blade because you can blip someone in the eyes at night and it gives you a window of opportunity because of the temporary blindness to be able to use the flashlight as an impact weapon in a hammer fist method. Trust me when I say, and speaking from experience, it works like magic to "mitigate physical confrontation"
When I started looking for an EDC light I had three wants. Rechargeable, magnetic base or some magnetic for hands free and reverse clip again for hands free on a cap. Olight Arkfeld Pro fit all those. I really wanted to go with the wedge xt but only had 1 of three wants. I guess if it’s Olight quality like you say then I might have to try the wedge xt when this one dies.
Great review. Just my philosophy, but my everyday carry light used for work, etc. needs to be comfortable in my pocket. The new Wedge XT looks like it will fill that role well due to the form factor and the pocket clip. (I understand any Benchmade knife clip will fit too.) My reality is I’ll have this light in my pocket while using a primary, situationally appropriate flashlight or headlamp. I always have a backup in my pocket should that primary light battery die.
I’d like a Wedge with a tail cap button, but keep the switch for changing levels. Give it a low of about 1 lumen, a medium of 60-100 lumens and a high of 800-1000 lumens. That would make a Wedge a beast
@@TiberiousGib me too! I’m looking to upgrade my micro stream USB. Streamlight needs to update their older lights to USB-C. I have just about weeded out micro usb and I don’t want to keep a cord around just for my flashlight. I have decided on this new purchase micro USB is a deal breaker.
I'm seeing more and more videos on using brighter flashlights for non lethal self defense recently. Are these bright enough to buy you time to use other tools in a bad situation? What about during the daytime?
I've snagged and bent every two-way clip light I ever carried. I'd rather use a headlamp or set the light on the ground if I need both hands for something.
@@TiberiousGib I totally loved Streamlight. Carried them on duty for 30 years. They have just priced themselves out of the market, and the competition is so much better now.
@@TiberiousGib Yeah, that isn't a speech impediment. If it is, there is a whole generation of 20 somethings that have it. And yes, I do care about laziness. I do like your review, though.
I'll admit. I liked your joke.
I liked this review. I've been looking into this, and this helped me make a decision. Keep up the good work!
You might be the only one lol 😂

Agreed

The reverse clip would be nice, I just can’t get O-light

Awesome video .
Thank you
Great review 👏👍🏻
Thank you 🙏
That macro stream was pretty impressive. Is that the AA version or rechargeable? You may have said it at the start of the video and I missed it.
Love me some micro and Marco streams

I think it would bright enough to blind someone, give you a second or two
Does it have momentary on off? I may have missed it if you said it good video
Oh crap, I think I forgot to
Mention it. Sorry! Slight press is momentary, full press for constant
Surefire stiletto pro. More because you can use the clip on a hat by reversing it
I dig the stilletto, just sucks it broke twice
I wish it had the baseball cap clip and it was a little bit cheaper
Clip would be nice

Any review between olight arkfrld pro vs wedge xt
Not that I’ve seen, I’m not a big fan of olight
The Wedge, a proctologist’s tool.😂😂
Eeewwwww 😂
The fact that you went there tells me that’s what you use yours for….very creepy
@@donrichter3523 I am not a proctologist.🫠
20 tap?!...I'm from Eastern Kentucky. Not sure I can count that high
Just a joke huh? Shew, I was sweating
Get your cousin to help you count 😁
@TiberiousGib I hollered at uncle daddy & aunt mommy to help. Cousin brother wasn't home at the time
Be thankful it wasnt 21 times. Could only be done in the shower.
🤘🏻

The new Olight Arkfeld Pro blows that thing out of the water. UV, Laser, Light all in one. Olight all day bb.
Amen. I love all of my Arkfelds.
But it’s an O/light 👎

When did the word "button" become "bu-un"? I simply don't understand what we have done to the English language.
That’s really what you care about? My accent and speech impediment? It’s the way God made me bro

That was claptastic! How does that compare to the Arkfeld? ...and work on the jokes
Terrible Jokes! I’m not a big O-light fan so I typically stick with Streamlight, Cloud and Surefire
