Something i've noticed recently that these days i find myself WANTING to watch more content creators like you. Videos that are chill, that take their time, there isn't a rush, there isnt constant upbeat music, there isnt an overflow of graphics or quick cuts in the video trying desperately to keep my attention, no its just a person with something to talk about. And i'm starting to enjoy that more than i do "Mr beast emulation" type content thats too fast. : )

If Vowles is serious about Williams returning to the top, he'll stop being a feeder for Mercedes. Williams have their own junior driver program now and the Antonelli thing is ridiculous. If Toto wants him then he needs to take on the risk himself, leave Williams out of it. If Sargeant is to be replaced then it needs to be someone Vowles signs on his own terms.
I don't think a team who can't afford a spare chassis can afford to not be a feeder team yet.

Well said! And VOWLES said in Feb that Williams wouldn’t take any rookies from other teams anymore COS they have their own Williams academy drivers now…. So I’m not sure if that KIMI to Williams willpower through… if Toto can snatch Max, there won’t be a seat at Merc for several years for Kimi and Williams definately doesn’t want to have a Merc driver in a Williams seat long term…

He's very right. Compared to Spa, Interlagos, Suzuka, Silverstone, Zandvoort, Jeddah-Corniche or the more recent Las Vegas Street circuit, Miami circuit stands no-where. Right at the bottom of the good to best circuits in F1. My two cents.

As former Miami resident who loves the city and loves the idea of F1 in Miami let me just say...
Miami GP is Lame.
In absolute truth it should not be called the "Miami Grand Prix" it should be called the North Dade County Which Is In No Way Miami Grand Prix. It is a race held in a Parking Lot that suffers all the consequences of a race held in a parking lot and has none of the upsides of a race held in a parking lot. When there was a race held in Sochi at least the Olympic park looked kind of cool. The only thing I can think is the Miami is a concession prize to all the people in F1 for having a very long season by having a nice weekend in Miami when the race isn't going on.
Honestly if it’s true about the ambassador deal being offered to Max, that would be such a middle finger to Lewis. Say what you will about Lewis, but he is the one who won those titles for Merc. He wanted the Schumacher Ferrari deal of being an ambassador and they wouldn’t give it to him, but they’ll give it to a driver who has won zero titles for them and not even driven for them?

I would assume that the details are a lot more forgiving than Lewis's contract.
Plus, they know for a fact that max wants to race until he croaks. Lewis is older, and doesn't have that same drive currently.
Max will be relevant for the next decade by being on the grid(s), so that probably would be part of it.
Like, DC is more or less an ambassador for red bull, but you don't see his car on the grid daily, yk? More sense in paying max 160m a year to be in the car than Lewis the same or more to... Not be in the car, and be in other countries.

My guess is that Max has numbers to show for sales on merchandise. Maybe I am colored by the images during the race, but there are more Hamilton, Verstappen, Alonso, and Leclerc flags and shirts being worn than any other driver. My guess is that it has to count for something.

I would love to see Max in a Merc for one reason - it's as close as we'll ever get to seeing if he or Hamilton is faster. No, it won't be a direct teammate comparison, but with George as the constant we'd have a good gauge.

Where are the blue Ferraris 😭😭😭 I think the struggles with Ferrari were more of an issue with the China track unknowns than the overall pace. The McLaren upgrades could be something, but I don't think they will dominate Ferrari this weekend.

P1 Verstappen
P2 Perez
P3 Leclerc
P4 Norris
P5 Sainz
Could you just imagine instead of miami we got a race on an actual circuit. Watkins glen, road America. A place that's focused around racing and not around gimmicks
Ultimate solution: 2 USA races and 2 only. 1 race is held on a proper circuit (COTA, Sebring, Road Atlanta, Indy, Watkins, Laguna Seca, Infineon etc) and the other a "destination race" held on a street circuit in a "destination location" like Las Vegas, Miami (not the stadium car park) and New York. Make both races cycle through a rotating roster of circuits and destinations each year.
A Mercedes lineup of Verstappen and Russell led by Toto Wolff would be the F1 version of those 80s/90s European action flick villains.
Also I winced at the idea of Logan getting dropped right after the Miami GP. At least let him finish out to summer break!

The other races worldwide are way less expensive….lucky for us… I’m going to Zandvoort. Many go to several races in Europe and Bahrain, Abu Dhabi…

Maybe Mercedes should concentrate on building a better car, rather than trying to buy their way out of the hole.
I would so much rather see F1 and Liberty putting money into some of the amazing historic tracks the US already has rather than building underwhelming street circuits from scratch like Miami and Vegas. They could just as easily help pay to upgrade circuits like Watkins Glen to be fit for F1 again and the racing would be so much more exciting and historically significant
Honestly, if Merc can make their car oversteer happy... Max might be able to put it on podiums. Perez is a pretty solid driver and we see where he is with the pace of the Redbull. Is it really the best car or is it compromised in all the right places to feed Max's style while being a pain to handle for most others? Most drivers fight with the engineers because the ideal setup from the engineers seems to always be right on the very edge of fast vs uncontrollable. Max seems to thrive with those setups.
I don't have the opportunity to watch F2 so I have zero knowledge of what is going on in that series - but I did look up the standings and Kimi Antonelli was in ninth place. The way people are touting him I thought he would be leading the series, not barely making into the top ten. So why are so many people saying he should already be in F1, what about the guy that is actually leading the F2 Championship. But like said, I don't watch the races so I don't know what is going on in F2, can someone fill me in?
so the f2 cars have drastically changed compared to last year, in order to be closer to actual f1 cars. this means though, that prema (antonelli's team) hasn't really been great so far, eventhough they usually are the top team in f2. antonelli did have a very impressing karting career + a very dominant freca stint, combine that with him signing for prema, and people had incredibly high expectations of him. so now that his car isn't able to compete at the top, it looks as if he's doing terrible, when in reality he just kind of has a midtable car at the minute.

This is how positions were decided during first years of F1. Saturday: Sprint race and quali. Sunday: Main race. How about that?????

Just watched Miami 2023 GP. Max goes from P9 to win. It’s his driving that makes him better than anyone on track. If Checo (started P1) drove like Max he would’ve won. It’s a win for Max this weekend unless Stroll finds someway to take him out. Max would do well to take the Merc deal as he said 2 years back that he could leave F1 anytime and be fine with it. Race for race he’s in it but never pegged him as a title chaser or multiple title chaser.

I would give the sprintweekends to the reserve and simdriver with the points won counting for the team championship. Negative points for teams that end up below last years team standings and positive points for those that do better than them. I think one more car on the trailer is peanuts in F1-terms. Might need a few more mechanics though
and Yuki goes to Alpine to reunion with Gastly. If Honda is not pushing AS to fire Stroll.
$160 million per year, you still need a car? Max has the "car" at the moment, less sponsor commitments, gets to play his sim racing. That is alot of money though.
I would love to see anyone from reserve driver purgatory brought up to that second Mercedes seat. Even if it's a year, it's still a chance to race and get your name out there.

I wonder if the Weather gods will help out this weekend? The right amounts of liquid sunshine at the right moments could really turn this into a true banger of a race weekend. Drying track during each qually, brief shower in mid-race for both, it could be really interesting. Sometime Mother Nature has a way of transforming the expected into a revelation. Here's hoping those ritual sacrifices work this time!

Engine is not as important with ground effect cars, look at VCARB with the same Honda engine as RedBull. Just another attempt to remain relevant

Daimler Motors did not see a rise in sales while the Mercedes F1 team was dominating in the beginning of the hybrid era. They may no longer be enthusiastic in that kind of expense if it's not pushing sales.

It's sad watching it, because honestly the car isn't good enough to do anything impressive even if his times are close to Albon, much less with the races all being screwed by chance or his own team.

I live in Miami, about 5 minutes from the track. The atmosphere at the event is great in the stands, but the tracj just painly sucks
Merc will have more power in 2026, I can feel it. Also liking the sprints, its like a practice that matters, and the staff should have more support.
Whereas MotoGP has a sprint weekend every race weekend.
Motogp sprints are great, the racing is so much closer and fierce
I think max to Merc would prematurely end his dominance, and potentially his stay at the front based on their downward trajectory. It could be an Alonso move, one that gets him trapped in the midfield for the next decade (though he'd likely just leave the sport for endurance)
With Russel it's altways a puzzle
Antonelli has yet to prove that he's fully ready for F2, it would be madness to bring him into F1 already...

I don't mind the Miami track. Both races have been quite good. I'm not a fan of the cringe showbiz vibe around the weekend, or the sprint, but I like the circuit layout.
Sprints need consequences - like position is quali or something - I liked that. Otherwise stop - practice and regular quali is better than current sprint spectacle

Tire deg/strategy is important but I feel F1’s goal should be fast, safe, and aggressive driving in that order, and tire deg shouldn’t significantly impede that. Was a shame to see Alonso in China, “If you no longer go for a gap that exists your no longer a racer driving.” I don’t think the race should be setup in a way that Alonso defending P2 aggressively (against a rocketship) was more harmful to his race than if he had meekly dropped to 3-5th from the start and conserved his tires all race. Drivers shouldn’t be as penalized as they are for pushing hard, looking forward to a low deg track as it will slightly reduce the importance of tire management and increase the importance of pace and aggressiveness.
Also I’ll be surprised if there rly isn’t a Ferrari in the top 5, seems a bit audacious but Tbf idk how significant these upgrades will be
