Corney is awesome I could listen to this guy all day.
I do listen to him all day!! lol
Like the Shawn michaels JBL story line. When he was “broke”
That was explained with Shawn losing his money in the 2008 crash.
Well, Flair would have been broke after three weeks.
True, that man does not know the meaning of the word "restraint".
That’s on him though. . And his three ex wives.
Well...Flair did show up on WWF tv with the BGB.
Remember when they did this with Big Show every other week? It was embarrassing.
Like WCW when Paul White came to the ring smoking, because he had no role other than walk out and be in the corner or somewhere ring side.
In WWE that was about pecking order, paying dues eventually someone requested to wrestle with Big Show to properly promote him.
That is what it takes in hostile takeovers turf wars happen like fitting into a new school.
This is even more true now days, if WWE fires you and you're a star AEW will hire you and pay you even if they never use you.
Speaking of AEW hiring ex WWE people. WWE did that shit way before AEW. WWE hired TNA ex wrestlers. NWA ex wrestlers. ROH ex wrestlers. So nothing new
My Opinion- Thought..AEW Tony- pays you just to be there doesn't use the Wrestler's properly
It's like a baseball cards, Wrestling Toys, Pokemon Cards,. All Tony wants is no one else to have great talent
And Using the Same Camera angles,Lights,is wrestler's take verbal shots at others on another wrestling company. When those other companies don't give a shit. Those companies are busy Bettering Themselves
Tony, is just throwing away daddy's Money
Shad (Tony's dad) should take the money away from his son..sell the company to whoever.
@@scottiewiseman1192are u stupida dumba or slow tna did it and when tna was having a bad time they jump to wwe kinda like wcw tell us ur not a real fan without saying it 😂 wwe is the place where everyone want to go for the most part
@@scottiewiseman1192You have it backwards. TNA hired tons of washed-up WWE stars, not the other way around. ROH meanwhile was just WWE's unofficial talent farm. And the modern NWA has only existed since like 2019. Before that NWA basically didn't exist.
@@scottiewiseman1192they took top level talent from other promotions. There's a difference.
I agree with Jim cornett
That’s why Vince McMahon winning the wrestling war also doomed wrestling. It used to be that fans would root for a wrestler, plain and simple. Now, it’s rooting for the brand that brings it to you. The death of actual professional wrestling.
You can still root for the wrestler
Pro Wrestling in the 2020's are more like Team Sports /Sports Franchises with Crazy fan bases that rival :REAL" sports . And Vince McMahon MADE it that way ,when it became The BRAND getting over ,than the individual wrestlers, which took away power from the Wrestlers.
Most reasonable thing I've ever heard this man speak.
You should listen to him everyday like I do. Everything he says is reasonable
@@ModernDayRenaissanceMan
No, not really
Happy Corbin comes to mind
I'm not a fan of Jim, but he makes nothing but good points here.
Is he gonna mention that in the 80s he was one of the promoters he's complaining about?
Wow only bots so far? Im early
Wait until he finds out what it's like to be a *normal* person with a boss
He never had to. That’s why the wrestling business has always been his life. 😑
Just because its normal in the us to have shit labor laws doesn't mean its right
Pretty sure he knows what that's like. But Idk how that's relevant to this clip anyway, considering that it's a clip of Cornette expressing confusion at how these highly-paid pro wrestling stars who appear on worldwide TV on a weekly basis allow themselves to get pushed around by WWE's backstage guys when they're millionaires who can easily get a job with AEW in the span of a few days, as if getting fired means the company can take away all the money in their bank account too.
@babauranai Are you telling me having to do what your boss tells you is shit labor laws? In Europe you can just push your boss around and do whatever you want? In Europe and average Joe can get fired and be able to coast off of what he already has for 6 weeks while not looking for a new job? Okay my bad
@@matthewsimon9500 because he was successful at it.
Man discovered collective bargaining…man after my own heart
Cornette is overthinking this, i think. Threatening to fire a wrestler is totally valid because every fan at home can relate to not wanting to be fired.
The audience even started applauding after he made his point. It wasn’t a “that’s exactly what i was thinking” applause. It was a “hmm he’s got a point. I never thought about that” applause
groan....
This goes back to the old days ,when a wrestler loses a match and he's "gone for 90 days" and kayfabe fans(who probably didn't have other than local TV, no cable and didn't know about other Territories). Thought that the wrestler didn't have any other income than wrestling, "What is he going to do for money???" The You're fired thing only Worked with Vince McMahon. If somebody says you're fired now , the fans at home are thinking he's got enough money to sustain himself for about a YEAR, it's not really that believable
Missing his point about the perception of wrestlers
Yet some people saying todays wrestling is better than the Attitude Era. Its not, wrestling isn't mainstream enough or cool anymore. I'm glad i stopped watching consistently.
If I ever had my own promotion the first thing I'd do is hire Jim Cornette.
Every other short is these guys speaking nicely. Then there's this one outstanding clip where all you hear is **bleep** 😂
I like how he does a Vince Impression for the shitty promoter 😂😂😂
Edit: Just noticed there was a similar comment. Wasn’t my intention to "copy anyone’s comments", just in case the comment section police are wondering.
Given what he talks about i would guess he said this around 2014 2015 ish
It's also why Vince always had to put up with Austin's crap in kayfabe.
OMFG THANK YOU
Smartest thing he's ever said
I am and forever will be a Jim Cornette guy!
"coughs in bret hart"
It's crazy that Wrestlers aren't in the SAG and earning residuals.
Expected to hear the world clapping after his first question
Jim is so on point so unbelievable pro wrestling is a joke in this era
Bro sounds like JbL
Rare W from Ole Jimboy
Cornette could sell out a high school gymnasium.
This guy is the chael sonnen of the wwe
I guess that’s what happen to Chyna
Corny is mostly right, there is also a lot of wrestlers who don’t know how to save and budget their money and spend the fuck out of it
"I'm going to leave your company and take your belt!"
Me as a promoter: go ahead. I'll just make another one and book a new champion.
Yeah you may get away with that once. If that happens more than once you’ll most likely have killed the territory
What's even worse is when you give a guy a contract of high pay zero accountability, but then say he needs to hit Dusty or get fired and become a pennyless bum in days.
Stephanie mcmahon was rotten
Or they just sign an NDA.
Because they arnt rich kayfabe jim
People love to Hate You
🏳️🌈🤖
@@RayneMaker20-cb4sx that’s what you are🤣
@@RayneMaker20-cb4sx nobody hates me bot.
@@billbrennan2347 well nobody likes you even more
Well it's like people if i dont get a paycheck in like a month it's done even less. You are slave to the corporate it's like that in the real world
Money and the actual product is WAY better now. So he is old school and out of touch.
Which was it with Cornette? Was everyone a millionaire or was he held up by his heels for the belt? Either way his promotion went out of business with WWE helping them.
His promotion was a regional independent at probably the lowest point in recent memory. Neither WWF or WCW were making profit those years either.
Cause it's relatable. If YOU lost your job today, you would be in trouble. So why not the everyman face your rooting for going through the same thing.
Err no not everyone would.
Not really if your base salary was like 100k ,this isn't like Steve Austin was living Paycheck to Paycheck here. The "YOU'RE FIRED" stuff was more effective on opening match or lower mid card talent who were clocking 60-75k before expenses, and a lot of low income fans would really connect with that
@Filmation77 you are not thinking of it like a mark. You are too informed, and the illusion is lost on you. As a kid, I didn't know how much stone cold made. I was as a fan wondering how he was going to get his revenge on this boss.
@@tster it's not lost on me ,cause I was watching it in College, and My granny was in full kayfabe. When I was 6 years old watching it in the 80's . And like I said in another post ,it only worked if the fans thought of Wrestlers as Working class heroes , not Superstars Working for big corporate monoliths. Even suspension of disbelief has to have some roots in Reality
@@tster people also don’t mind tearing down a place that has valid criticism whether an actual job or a wrestling.
Bro, you have share holders now. It’s not the same. And BTW the stock is starting to go to the moon. TKO
Yes and nowadays the fans call any wrestler that doesnt immediately do what they're told "difficult" 😂😂😂 the FANS have gone soft. AEW nerds can't handle a differing opinion and will default to calling Cornette racist because they can't articulate an actual argument.
That's capitalism, Jim.
WWE gives severance
Well. The boys made today, the whole ill hold your title hostage. But now they are mad that they can't hold up the promotion now. How dare the guy paying me to perform ask i do what they want 🙄🙄
That isn't what he's saying. At all.
Trying to be relevant at the expense of wwe, he hasn't a clue!
He doesn't care about whether or not people consider him "relevant" and rarely ever talks about WWE. That is, up until the recent Royal Rumble to WrestleMania XL season, at which time he praised the hell out of WWE for the whole Cody Rhodes vs Roman Reigns w/The Rock angle.
You do realise that this is from a few years ago........right?
It became a deal when the problem of no super stars was resolved by adding hundreds of mid level talent and telling the fans this is a great product.
