Very nice work. How did you trim the one side of the throttle shaft like that??

Put the shaft on an vice and carefully cut it with a dremel and cutting wheel

I have Italian 44 IDF carbs and one of the idle mixture screws has stripped threads.
Any advice before I retap the M5 x 0.8 threads in carburetor base?
I'm not that worried about new threads, I'm more concerned about damaging the seat of the needle.
    Thanks for any help.

You should be fine! Try and measure and put a stop or a mark in the tap

@carburist OK thanks, I was able to run a tap through the threads, looks like it's good.
I was told switching out the older style air/fuel mixture screw for the newer one would possibly work better.
      Can you confirm that?
The older style have a shorter more blunt needle and the newer version is more tapered.
      Thanks for your response.
