@@takavaka758 I'm just curious as I've been playing for about 12 years now and around the 6th year kind of lost my love for the instrument (due to studying it at college I think). I've only in the last 6 months really hit it hard and that's from spending a lot of time with TE learning things like Freight Train and Windy and Warm so was interested to see how this one turned out for Fred! :) Thanks for the reply! :)
That's an interesting chord you ended with (very last one). What a beautiful arrangement with bringing the bass in time. Wish I could play 1% of what Tommy's knows.
OMG!!! Tommy Emmanuel is the most incredible Acoustic Guitar 🎸 Artist! He makes me feel warm inside just by hearing his voice! Just Amazing!!!! 🎸🎶🔥👍🏻🤘🏻🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I believe you need to check out more of his material / performances...... I can't think of a style/genera I haven't heard him touch upon / or at least occasionally incorporate.......& he's way above average at all of them.....& master at most......I've never really seen him get out-played when jam'n with other world class players.....except maybe out-flamenco'd once or twice.......not that hes exactly Segovia at classical or Paco @ Flamenco or Di Meola or Taylor at jazz......but he incorporates the most interesting / coolest techniques from all of them in his arrangements & compositions.....& where he really shines is at that Nashville / Chet Atkins Boom Chick type thumb pick/finger style......though a bit ironically my favorite pieces by him tend to be a hybrid picking style......If you were to take the 10 worlds best players....self-proclaimed or otherwise.......I bet that they would unanimously agree the TE is the better entertainer at solo acoustic instrumentals.....truly" world class"!
You can almost taste the sadness in this song. What pain Martin Taylor must have been feeling to write like this; for music like this can only come from deep inside.
I officially miss having an acoustic guitar because of this video. Been stranded in China for close to a year now with only my electric gear. thanks Tommy.
Tommy. I saw you play at The Birchmere early this March. At sat up front. You're performance thrilled me musically and touched me with an emotional impact that is rare. As a guitarist, you have inspired me proufoundly. Thank you!! I was thinking recently that you should do a film score at some point. I bet you'd be brilliant at that too. Thank you for your insturctionals. They are great and very helpful. Cheers! :)
I think it is usually the case : many come together to play as one; one person tries to play like many/a band/orchestra. Tommy Boy sure does it so well! [ Boy : because he is so young! full of energy! ]
Tommy is so consistent and accurate, but when he said "my fingers went straight to that, you know why because i trained it to, i went over and over again, it was difficult at first" i stopped right there and i broke my guitar
So the F# augmented chord... he’s not using pinky finger, correct? So couldn’t you use an alternate grip: pinky on low e string, second and third fingers on b and g strings and first finger on d string. There’s no way my fingertip can hold down two strings at once
forget guitar
i dont think ive ever seen anyone this good at anything
This song is very special to my mum. I wanna learn the song for her. And i know, ill spend months or years to play this. But i will do it for my mum.
Six string fingerpicking has a step by step tutorial for this song
How did it go Fred??
@@joshuamosley9245 if he started when he wrote this comment then he probably nailed it :)
Its a difficult song tho but its beautifull to play

did you do it?
This song is the most beautiful thing I've ever heard in my life.
Explains it so well and then demonstrates by making the guitar speak to you too, priceless lesson.
God, let him live forever please..
wow Tommy! I love the subtle small things you do with phrasing, and so helpful to hear you talk through the movements you make. Thanks.
We need more guitar players like Tommy. There's not heart in a lot of music nowadays but Tommy has that. Play on brother, God bless
It's all music , never any string noise when he moves positions, just perfection

beyond world class
I believe if he tried, he could become a decent classical guitar player.

This is Tommy's best lesson he has ever given
Thank you Tommy. What a gift!
I love this arrangement so much!!
Beautiful music. Masterful playing. Awesome teaching :) Thanks!
Amazing. What a humble dude. I'm learning this right now, the right hand is simple, it's the left with the fast chord changes that are difficult.
@Lance Brown Hey man, yeah I eventually got this one. Really fun to play
I cried

Hardtop Harry you are so right.

Wow...thank you Tommy
Wonderful
As always there are so many small details that contribute to the total music picture. Thanks, and now it's off to the woodshed! :)
went looking for this one (?) just yesterday. It wasn't there. Makes me really wonder just how closely I'm watched.
nice tune

This has a lilting, sad Irish feel to it, very beautiful, sad.
Beatiful. Reminds me of Niel Gow's Lament ...
as easy it may sound,,it is really difficult to play
very nice song ;-)
