So cool to see TE in Guitar Village! Bought my first acoustic guitar from you guys and played the open mic night over the road every month ❤️
It was amazing having him in - jealous that you get to listen to his music every night on tour! 😲 Glad we could be part of your journey and we'd love to have you on the show soon! 🙌
Legendary Australian!
3:52 - "I don't have a guitar tech; i am the guitar tech and i don't want people touching my guitar..." I don't know why but this statement probably gave me the most satisfying feeling ever.
He's talking about an upcoming tour with Jerry Douglas: I saw that tour at The Apex in Bury Saint Edmunds. Tommy was on fire! His new lighting man complemented the whole performance; unbeatable. Unfortunately, much as I like Jerry Douglas when he's in a band, backing people like Alison Kraus, I just didn't understand what he was trying to say. I now have a ticket for the same venue next January (2024) where Tommy will have Molly Tuttle; don't know if she'll be solo or backed, but I'm certainly looking forward to it...
Been said a thousand times before ....tommy is one off the best guitarist / musician off all time. Period
Too bad we will never get Tommy where I live... cheers form Argentina !!!
Aside from his exquisite guitar playing, he's also a great story teller.
Happy birthday master tommy
Just had the pleasure of seeing Tommy in concert for the very first time - in Los Angeles. I’m still coming off a cloud. Not only was his playing superb, but what drew me in the most was his exuberance and joy on stage. He was like a kid on Christmas Day. Having so much fun and exhibiting so much spirit! Thank you TE for that experience!
The best in the world indeed
Nick
Such a great player!
Saw him in Gateshead last night. Totally blown away, this guy has dedicated himself to music/guitar/entertainment and it is so abundantly clear 🤟🏻
Brilliant as usual. He is one of the few that legitimately brings a smile to my face despite the world going it's own way. Thanks Tommy.
He’s so hard working.
Lucky enough to catch Tommy in Cardiff on the 5th March. Probably the 5th or 6th time I’ve heard him live - lucky me! I figured he would have slowed down a bit by now but actually he was the best I have ever seen him. Some of his collaborations with Jerry were just brilliant. He is such a legend on stage and in person. If you have never seen him live you really should take the opportunity! Awesome.
Love the way he slips in "Walk Don't Run" during Classic Gas at the end
Genius!
11:33 the magic starts
such an honest interview .. have followed TE all the way back to when he used to do the pub scene and RSLs here in Sydney . Has always been such a genuine person.
Saw him in Buxton (UK) a few weeks ago, he was just amazing.
Thank you TE.
He's amazing! Was quite surreal having a him play for just us in the room!
@@GuitarVillageFarnham I can imagine !
He does seem like a proper dedicated to his craft musician.
Not just his music but every word he says is so inspiring.... God bless you TE 🙏🙏🙏🙏
So true
Such an inspiration!
I love Tommy playing but also talking, what a guy.
A beautiful spirit. So genuine. And he's back in January! ❤
Legend ♥️♥️
Thank you guys for posting this. It's been a while haven't seen TE. Really love him as a person and his music
No worries! Glad you enjoyed it!
Hope that people in UK know that they have there, the greatest guitar player in the world
He lives in the UK now?
@@tasosdiaforetico7377 no, he went there just for concerts
Saw Tommy in Bury St Edmonds a week ago tonight. Amazing. Such an incredibly nice guy too. Fabulous evening. Looking forward to the next time😊
As usual, amazing
Cheers Jim, Tommy is great!
Nice playing, Lovely guitar
perfect, I enjoyed it thanks
Glad you enjoyed it!
This is why everyone likes TE !!
A true inspiration.
He really is!
I hear Tommy talk it makes me tearful, spoke too Tommy 30yrs ago and he made me and my friend smile so much when he said ...come closer..that inspired me too play for some amazing players. Go well Tommy
What a great story! Tommy is very inspiring!
I enjoyed the whole interview. Thank you very much for the post.
Nice
Tommy is a living "Mozart"!!! I love him and his music!
He's amazing, isn't he?!
Eric Clapton said that he's the best acoustic guitarist that he's ever seen.
L E G E N D .
Tommy mentions a Udo Roesner preamp in his signal chain to the Da Capo 75. Anyone got a line on that Roesner preamp he is using?? Thanks!
i wonder if he is talking about c10 custom?
Oh Jeez...
😧
Tommy an exception but long gone the days of players like Buchanan using NO effects (just the amp reverb sometimes) relying instead on just one guitar, fingers, technique, no electronic tuner, string changing done on the stage floor mid gig.
Audience never batted an eyelid.
I'm interested in that acoustic guitar without pickup, just nice and simple! What's the brand and can I buy it in Australia? Thanks and cheers! ( Hopefully you'll reply me )
Hey Lee, it's a Larrivee Tommy Emmanuel C-03R-TE Custom. Here's a link to the one that Tommy played in the video: bit.ly/3h5ZWgh
Thank you so much. Cheers!
there goes that thumb pick again
Classic TE!
What is the name of the song the wrote for his daugher? It is beautiful.
Rachel's Lullaby!
@@GuitarVillageFarnham Thank you!!!!
Concert size guitar? I think strings are as low they can be without buzz?
Like his keep it simple. Why hazzle?
He has nice stories but I want to know what it takes to get his level of playing?
I am maybe half way from his technique. Never to his level.
I like more playing and singing not virtuoso one man band thing.
Here in Finland is Tomi Paldanius been in his concert. He plays Maton's guitar. And is this level.
Asking TE who his biggest influences were is a wrong notion. It’s everyone. He’s a sponge.
