Stop-motion artist here! I endorse the Crafsman’s method, though I want to offer clear gloss nail polish as an alternative to UV resin for the shine effect, which might be more accessible for some :-)
I don't know how you made it through this whole video without making a Blade Runner reference "I just do eyes." Great video, eyes are always tough for me so I can't wait to give this a try.
SNAP! LOL! Y'all giving me so many good references I could have made! Mannn, sometimes I feel like I need to start scripting all my videos, so that I can SHARE the script with y'all... and THEN film it... with a BUNCH OF FUNNY LINES! :D I'm kicking myself that I didn't think to say this! :) Thank you for watching, and taking time to comment! MUCH appreciated, my friend.
What a great idea for a meticulously realistic miniature! I love the procedure, the result, the figures made with them... but, above all, I love your explanation!
Hey Crafsman! Just wanted to say how much ur channel has helped during the hardest time in my life. This is coming from someone who’s struggled a lot with mental health and has had severe issues prior to this last time. I pray you get your own TV show or your animation takes off in such a way that you and your family have money and blessings coming out of your ears! ♥️
Man Craftsman I love you - as much as one can love a fleece puppet with rubber glove hands on the internet, one has never met - but why do you put that energy out into the world? Who in their right mind would want puppets and figurines that stare at you with dead realistic eyes! They stare right into your soul eternally asking "Why?".
I make all kinds of realistic eyes. I use polymer clay and even a silicone and corn starch mixture but this is such a better solution for smaller eyes. The Crafsman always teaching me something to make my life a little easier.
Thank you so much! I bet some type of simple push-mold could work for getting the iris and pupil shapes in polymer clay. :D What I like about polymer clay is you can get some that have a nice translucence to them, which I feel would add more to the realism. :)
@@TheCrafsMan that exactly the type of clay I use (translucent). Then for blood vessels I use alcohol inks then lightly wipe most away with a tiny brush tip covered in alcohol as it thins the red ink it also makes smaller vessel lines, but leaves a lighter pink surrounding area underneath adding some realism. I love making eyes. They're so much fun because there are so many different types. I make a ton of monsters so those are even more fun.
Essential tremor 10:33 is what my son has. he's in his late twenties. it's totally harmless and usually happens when you are actively using your hands, mostly for small repetitive task.
@@TheCrafsMan Jeremy from BlackMagicCraft has the same issue. I believe he even has a video showing ways to compensate for it. I've found a couple of beers to work wonders ;)
I have no need to make tiny realistic eyeballs, yet the video was so satisfying that I want to give it a go! Plus I love working with resin. Thanks for the video.
I love the way you talk. I love the way your fingers move and say a whole bunch of words without saying anything at all. I love your mad up words that make more sense than the real ones. I love your jokes. And the way you pause for punchlines! I love your puppets. I love all the little things you do with your cute little toys. Your crafcat. Crafin Workshop. Crafwife. Stickers. Toys. Workshop displays. I love everything about you man. you’re the best!
Crafsman, not only are your videos extremely informative and entertaining, I know I can trust the information you provide in your videos because you yourself are a very talented and experienced maker/creator. It's so hard trying to find quality content on YT and not just another clickbait video. But I know I can always trust the Crafsman. You're my hero Crafsman!
Can I just say that today's introduction is my all time favorite of yours? EDIT: Crafsman, I don't know what you've been doing differently, whether it's your mood or just different techniques, but these last few videos I have noticed a considerable increase in production quality.
I'm 99% sure I'll never make eyeballs like these but I highly enjoy watching you make them and explaining the process. I'm so happy I found your channel last year! I was expecting a realistic-eyeball-Crafsman-puppet at the end :D That dad joke at the end was a hit, it got a reaction out of me for sure :)
This video was most certainly acceptable. A welcome distraction after a very, very long day. Eye feel like a PUPIL at school when I watch your videos. I hope you understand I mean this with all respect, and won't LASH out when I send my love to Crafsmomma. I love her commentary.
Every time I see one of your videos, I just want to curl up in a cozy place and chill. You have some of the most enjoyable and pleasant content out there, CrafsMan. Thank you.
Great stuff, as always! An upside with drilling the eyeballs by hand without a rig that Crafsman didn't mention is that the little differences and imperfections helps at keeping the characters organic and unique! :D
Love the outtakes at the end! I actually just got a bottle of that resin after you last video and it arrived today. I'm sure my kids toys are missing eyeballs somewhere. Great video!
I am enjoying your channel so much. Never would have thought I would enjoy watching a puppet presenting crafting... but now I am officially subscribed. Thanks for your creativity!
I was today years old (42 & went to art school for 5 yrs!) when I learned how to draw a circle by moving the paper instead of your writing utensil!! Sad...just sad!! Lol...but thanks nonetheless crafsman!🖤 I had to edit this bc the end was hilarious...crafsmama cracked me up!!🤣🤣🤣
a little bitty tip i learned while working on my art degree, is that those paper plates that have that waxy kinda texture on them? Those make fantastic painting palettes! Other types of a paper plates tend to absorb the paint but the waxy ones don't! Try it out if you find the paint drying out too fast or getting absorbed into the plate
Your videos are amazing, making eyeballs is something I will probably never do, but I enjoy seeing the techniques you use! The way you talk, the lighting in the videos, the jokes, it’s very satisfying to watch!

Whoa. Just finished a Toy Polloi video and this popped up. It’s a good day! edit: interrupted my son and watched with him because he started using the same UV resin a few minutes ago
As a mini wargamer I'm extremely jealous of how easy you make that look, especially compared to painting eyes for 28mm scale. I particularly liked the idea of holding the eye upside down while curing it having done a few projects with UV resin.

I've had some airsoft BBs from an old gun I bought years ago which were just sitting on a shelf. Crafsman, you never fail to relax and amuse me. Your passion for tiny crafts is inspiring. Let me share a craft I uses to do as a kid all the time. Aluminum foil sculptures. Then I would take sheets of aluminum foil and try to create what I drew. Only thing I used was foil. Eventually I got good enough to make cool helmets for my siblings. Did a lot of freddys characters for them. They looked pretty good too. Its a fun craft if ya ever wanna try it
