DJI Inspire 1 - Maxium Payload Lift Capacity Carrying Test

- Testing the ability of the DJI Inspire 1 for payload carry. This UAV was attached with a payload of increasing size (1lb, 2lb, 3lb, 4lb) to determine the responsiveness and capacity to carry weight. The Inspire was able to easily lift 1 and 2 pound weights. It was able to reasonably carry 3 pounds. The four pound payload required constant application of thrust/ascend joystick. The maximum carrying capacity we would suggest would be 3 pounds or about 1400g. Note: this does not include the camera attached. Please feel free to ask questions!
Thats awesome man! Cool video
Cool vid. I just shot a test with 4 lbs. of payload and delivery. We calculated 3lbs. is a comfortable max with gusts. Now it's time to calculate battery life/target distance and return.
I know I'm a little late but did you ever do the tests😓 I'm getting an inspire 1 v2.0 and am wondering the max payload so I can decide how big of a battery I can put into it
@@dimagass7801 just did tests with inspire 1 v2.0 because I'm building a fishing drone. Flying time with 1kg is 64.5% of without battery. Hope this helps.
Thanks 4 Posting
How grilling prematurely 4 engines. Thank you.
nonsense the engines are prob the last thing to ever worry about... it's the batteries that cause all the issues.
Good info. Thx man
A shorter line to the payload would reduce the pendulum effect which could cause control problems with the UAV.
actually it increases it greatly because the weight shifts are shorter and sharper... we use drones to drop heavy shark baits all the time
@@bushmanphotos if it's longer is that better less pressure?
@@t6ix0 less pendulum effect can't swing as much up into the propellors and seems to keep the drone more stable. We run them at max payload all the time. Also if you have to do an emergency landing with payload still attached then a short line means the payload is in the way when drone tries to land. Also a long line gives the drone plenty of space to get some full force going up before the payload pulls on it. We have had crashes because weight was too soon before the drone had gotten over ground effect on the props.
@@bushmanphotosdo u kno where I could buy a payload kit for inspire 1
Great video. I'm really curious to know how much time would be shaved off the 22mins flight time with a 1lb payload. Do you have any idea?
+pisonpc sorry didnt run it down - will try next time we set this up
Wow
What kind of drop release is that?
plus the air from propellers pushing down the bag.. adding extra weight
Did you have the camera on or did you take it off
Camera was off - Didnt want to risk losing it if it crashed.
❤🍎🚘
where do you recommend to attach the payload?
+EcoSky Photography I used the two holes on the bottom just behind the gimble mount and threaded some twine in and out of those.
It can weight till 20kg
how ??
Do you think it's possible to attach something to the bottom with the camera attached?
+Zade Cross yeah - at youre own risk though. we didnt attach anything since this was first time testing and if the drone crashed - we didnt want to lose the camera too.
we do that all the time no problem
Is this v1 or v2?
This is v1.
Can I call you
your batterys must by dead now haha
