    I haven't flown my drone in a while because of DJI app issues. I have watched so many videos on how to fix the issue and none of them worked until I saw this video..THANK YOU!

    Great job! I just acquired a new to me DJI Inspire 1, which is in mint condition. Thank you for a great setup walk through. Additionally, I have been doing my log book similar to the way you do yours and it works great for me with all my drones too. I am so excited with this Inspire 1. Take care. Ed W. • @edw9270
      @edw9270 Год назад

      @@D1OR-BS It would be a lot cheaper than an Inspire 3. The Inspire 2, has dual everything. It has 2 batteries, 2 IMU’s and 2 compasses, which great should one fail, then you have a backup.

    Great video! Brought back memories from when I acquired mine five years ago. I have the Inspire 1 ver. 2. Upgraded gimbal for Zenmuse X5 camera. Sold X5 about a year later since I wasn’t using it. It’s such an impressive looking machine!
    Today I prefer to fly the Air 2S, which is better in every way except in how it looks.

    Tyler, what an excellent and very thorough demonstration of the DJI. Not only do you speak concisely and with such professionalism, but you also speak from the authority of experience and that is what makes this instructional video so valuable to me. Your suggestions and innovations reveal a thorough understanding of this drone, the makers should take heed.
    One question: the actual footage that you show on this video...have you put it through stabilizing software? It appears so velvety smooth.
    Thank you for taking such valiant efforts to share with us the knowledge you have gained. Your generosity is very much appreciated.

      I very much appreciate those kind words. A lot of time was invested in putting this together to help those who were once in the position I was, looking for technical direction on the Inspire. Minus some light color correction, the footage is all raw out of the camera- even the aggressive movements at 17:56!

  • @BlackHawkAeronautical
    @BlackHawkAeronautical 9 лет назад +2

    Great tutorial. Very informative. My only suggestion is at 7:41 where you attach the camera. As the pins on the inside of the I1 are quite sensitive and can easily be bent, consider leaving the I1 on the table and gently raise the camera aligning the lines with one hand then turning your locking dial with the other hand. Tilting the I1 and placing the camera in at an adverse angle can damage the pins. Thanks for sharing your tips and safe flying! :)

    Oustanding and educational... You have the Phantom 4, how do the two compare?

    • @TCBTS
      @TCBTS  8 лет назад

      I currently don't own a Phantom 4. The main difference, particularly for video, is being able to get the landing gear elevated for a full, unobstructed 360 field of view.

    Very informative. Thanks! And thanks for creating a checklist.
    The only thing I wouldn't do is catch one by hand.

    • @TCBTS
      @TCBTS  8 лет назад

      I don't normally do it either, but reserve it for compromised landing zones (on a boat, in deep grass, etc.)

    • @HawaiiGoesFishing
      @HawaiiGoesFishing 8 лет назад

      Good pointer about landing on a boat. Something for me to consider in my line of work as a fishing show producer.

    • @chandirchanneldirectory323
      @chandirchanneldirectory323 8 лет назад

      HawaiiGoesFishing - you can go to the top 3D printing open source sites and dl or order a hand catch custom post. It's very light, and will have negligible impact on parasitic drag and CG. Plus the rear gimbal shots will have a downward post in view. There are also other very cool ideas but warn you that if you implement them, thoroughly test the flight characteristics first.

    • @chandirchanneldirectory323
      @chandirchanneldirectory323 8 лет назад

      Oh I forgot, w boating, be careful. As with an unstable platform, the internal gyros/instruments act like they're on acid. My cousin had a coworker launch a 4 off of a fireboat. And once in the air, it was a miracle it didn't go to Davey jones locker.
      Also, no return home on a moving platform, so be proficient at hand catching. Tip: use your non dominate hand to catch; this way, if it falls off, you still have your good one - for the tip. Lol

      @TCBTS  8 лет назад

      +Mark Jackson You're quite welcome. Sure sounds like one. That's the first I noticed that. I know the sound can often be deceiving as to where it's coming from. I didn't notice anything anywhere nearby during the shoot, though. On a previous day, I actually saw a recreational plane while I had the Inspire out. How are you liking the V2?

    • @markjackson5247
      @markjackson5247 8 лет назад

      With the video it sounded as if the plane was over head, i have the latest version v1 I have just put on the v2 props and locks I feel more secure about that, don't want a prop flying off.I really like the inspire but I couldn't agree more about flight safety and pre-flight checks.
      It will be the few people that aren't safety aware that spoil it for everyone else.

      +chris digata Ha, I thought those were funny, too. How quickly are you finding your props to wear out?

    • @CDigata
      @CDigata 9 лет назад

      +TCBTS I used them daily and was even looking for a case to store the inspire in land mode with cameraa and props still on. But I found even when new the prop had a little movement and after a few weeks became more and the vibrations started.
      But I now have the new props and motors with push down and lock.. and they are solid. its it quiet and no vibration

  • @jjgarcia6779
    @jjgarcia6779 8 лет назад

    Did the paint cause an imbalance to the props? Any vibrations?

    • @TCBTS
      @TCBTS  8 лет назад

      +JJ Garcia I've noticed no imbalance, parasitic drag, vibrations, or other negative effects. All of the footage in the video was shot with those painted props on the Inspire, so they've worked well for me and are the only set I've used to date.

    • @cale262
      @cale262 8 лет назад

      +TCBTS You say you haven't noticed any imbalance...did you put these on a prop balancer or are you just guessing. You may not notice any short term effect but unless you are properly balancing after painting you may have long term issues, quicker battery rundown and video quality will suffer. You are also incorrect about the phantom functions of having to start recording for the full flight, P2V+, P3 and P4 all have the ability to start and stop recording mid flight through the DJI go app...Other than that, good video!

    • @TCBTS
      @TCBTS  8 лет назад

      Hey, thanks for the comment. I have a prop balancer for the original Phantom and an Inspire balancer is on my list of gear to get. The Phantom I was referring to in the video was the original Phantom you had to attach a GoPro to, roll the GoPro before takeoff, and cut it post flight. Those who haven't experienced that may not realize the luxury of a controller based record button haha.

    Cool" but I still don't see the type of drone that am thinking of, (1) I need a silent Drone that can ascend up to cloud level with long Hours of battery life, or they could add alternator to the propeller motor, So while Flying you still charging battery (2) powerful reception antenna and a little parachute in case for safety landing (3) Can also operate through WiFi and mobile tower e.g. you put a sim card in drone and you could fly miles and miles away from home and still and stay connected through mobile tower is like making a call sending information back and forth, from the tower to ur Drone

    • @chandirchanneldirectory323
      @chandirchanneldirectory323 8 лет назад

      Phoenix Hounter While I admire your creativity and wanderlust for flight, if you plan on safe operations (for your drone & others - swap those for importance) and attempt to fly to the lowest cloud level; try to get your thrills ironed out on a good simulator.
      I liked what I heard about "parasitic drag." This tells me that you know the basics of aerodynamics. You also drove home the importance of the proper use of check lists. I'm not sure if you are operating with a FAA 107 drone license, or an actual part 91/121 license that would put you in the same airspace as those who wish to fly to the inversion level that meets the dew point (Violá, cloud formation) while autonomously hopping from cell tower to cell tower; hopefully he was simply kidding, but there are many who aren't.
      But for liability and safety, you may want to print out a sheet with environmental factors, and the info in your book. You can also notate the lack of aircraft, people, and other things you should be cognizant of.
      Just imagine if an officer someone called on you (cause people put their noses all over) arrives, you land your Inspire, and when he / she asks you about drones and safety, you produce your safety sheet and checklist. It'll sure beat yelling hands up..... Never mind, you get the point.
      With two years of commercial aviation coursework at the college level, and a SEL PPL earned at MCAS EL-TORO's aero club, I give you high marks for your video. Grow and good luck.
      PS- I wonder if DJI publishes data on the MTBF for the critical moving parts? If so, and they aren't at a point where you'd be drawing SSI, or fail to keep up with technology that supersedes your Inspire, lol, keeping a running total time on each motor and prop might be useful.
      Great luck with your channel, and business. I liked ur work.

    After just a few seconds of the video, I aleady noticed an embarrassing mistake-there was an "outro" in the contents. There's no such thing as an outro. It's not as easy as intro and outro, it's called a conclusion.

    You just stole that list from Adam Savage, you did not compile any information at all

    • @TCBTS
      @TCBTS  8 лет назад

      If you compare the two lists, you'll notice there are several components I added, changed, or omitted. I actually looked at all the lists I could find, which there were very few of, and created a list that worked for me. To give credit where credit is due, I've given a nod to Adam in the description.
