The Spalding TF-250 is perfect for both indoors and outdoors, however we find it's typically purchased for outdoor use - for summer camps, recreational purposes etc.
Spalding Tf-250 is for me perfect for Outdoor: Leather, Long Lifetime by every Day play (1-2 Years ) low price by repair (25$ ). And new Ball is only around 50$ bucks by Amazon. You can nothing make wronge with this Ball. And by the way for indoor is this Ball OK,too.

I have a spalding tf 250 the grip is good when you get it but I don't recommend playing outside I have it for like 3 months and it looks really washed up it says outside but unless you're playing in one of those fancy smooth outside courts and not on regular cement it will be ok also it has really good grip and I can easily palm it indoor but when I'm outside it's really dusty and loses grip if anyone has the tf 1000 can you tell me if it has the same problem
If your play outside by non regular Cement most Basketball go down by it. 3 months by expensive play on difficult Areas/Cement is good Quality. All balls after all are Ball. So even the best Balls Lifetime is around 6 months by upside regular Streets. Best regrets from Germany

Ik this is old but you are probably using the cheap rubber balls. I recommend the Wilson Forge Pro if you’re still looking for a good outdoor ball. It feels like leather.

Cheap rubber balls can become unusable quickly even tho they have better material for outdoor use. Spending more for a good quality outdoor basketball will be worth your money. Or if you just want a cheap very durable ball you can look into Tarmak r500 hardground. The downside of that ball is that it has pretty strange pattern and it almost doesn't look like basketball but you get almost indestructible basketball for a low price

I know your comment was 3 months ago so it's probably too late but the Nike dominant basketball is so much better than other cheap basketballs as it has a much better feel to it and is very durable.
Look if you are playing outside the official ball is leather it will be knackered in a very short time and it’s probably criminal to play with these balls outside
genuine NBA leather balls are not for amatures, they take a long time to work in and if your a poor shooter it will make your shot worse, in fact if you bring it to a pickup game without it being worked in the guys will throw it away as garbage and opt for the Wilson Evolution. However once worked in true ballers will love it.

I have NEVER seen a composite leather basketball last for more than 3 months without completely losing it's grippiness. Can anyone show me one that maintains its grip? So far in 19 years of searching only the Nike True Grip maintains its grip until its dying day but they don't make those anymore.
I find leather better for outside than rubber. Rubber touching to high for my opinion and the chance by Tricks to lose Rubber is higher. If you have leather and a little more heavy it's perfect. Even for scoring is leather better outdoor. You have many metal Rings by Basket in outdoor ( for lifetime) and Rubber jumps often out of this one ( 75 % more). But Grip is better by Rubber. So for Ball control maybe by Amateurs/Beginner is Rubber better. For long time is a heavy ( but not to heavy) Leather Ball better.
