I've been seing this controller for a lot of time but i didn't know that has a New version with hall effect sticks thats awesome and for me i prefer the playstation controller but console xbox Great review 🎉
Found your channel today, watched a few videos so far. Really cool to see a channel focusing on a niche so specific, covering as many controllers as you seem to. I dig it
Thank you for that. I do cover more than just controllers, but those videos get me the most views on a regular basis. You should check out the other types of gaming content I do and our weekly podcast and let me know what you think. 👍🏻
Strongly considering buying this for 2D fighter games. As an eternal PlayStation guy that recently tried Xbox, I find it nearly impossible to play street fighter on the series X controller. Seeing this having Hall effect is nearly sealing the deal for me.
@@RedBandanaGamingthanks! I just ordered it haha! I love the Xbox series X pad for simpler games. But for fighting games, I need the PS layout. I own the Nintendo switch version of the 8bitdo as well! Great review!
I just got this controller and I'm loving it so far. Using those remappable underside buttons for the 3D games and the d-pad and face buttons for 2D titles. It's buttery smooth and feels great to hold.
@@dericjennette3733 hmm... Odd... I suppose I haven't checked in a month, but if you're having problems with it, in my experience reinstalling the software usually does the trick (or sometimes installing a previous version if they have those available). Hope you get it working again... It's still my daily driver controller.
Which one do you prefer (ergonomic wise), this Pro2 or the ultimate wired version? And do you find the hall effect is really a strong point that no one should buy the old version anymore?
I prefer the Ultimate design and shape wise. I do really like his one though. As for hall effect, I think it's a big plus and I definitely choose hall effect sticks over standard. I do plan on getting the Ultimate C when it comes to Xbox later this month.
I've been working with 8BitDo to replace my Ultimate Wired (the previous model), that I had bought in November, since its right stick started drifting a couple of weeks ago. It's a good controller, but I can't trust potentiometer sticks anymore. Also, detachable cable can be useful.
I feel ya, I've had my non-hall pro 2 that I got for my Nintendo switch for a few years now, and I have to set the dead zones so that the slight drift doesn't mess with anything. In a few days I'll be ordering a new one with the hall effect sticks. I don't really play Nintendo switch anymore, (I use mine for PC games) but I prefer the wireless capability of the switch version compared to the wired only of the product shown in the video @@vhsodre
"No drift" sounds too good to be true. I think that anyone reviewing these controllers that have these "Hall Effect" analog sticks should always make sure to do follow-up videos like 2-3 years later to show whether or not the analog sticks remain usable or have developed drift during that period.
They will eventually develop drift especially at very low deadzone but simply due to the fact that the more you use it the more the springs that hold the stick centered wear out and get loose unfortunately that inevitable
Even Toyota vehicles need a major part change at some point, the difference is it takes MUCH longer than other cars from other manufacturers, in that same sense Hall effect joysticks take longer to develop problems, of course you can never completely avoid wear and tear. There’s a reason why these things are 40$ because they’re replaceable, however the Hall effect sticks and triggers make that less likely to happen in the short term.
I recently got this controller for my NS and I'm having trouble programming the back buttons for the Switch. Do you think that you can do a video on how to program the software for the controllers?
I depends on how you like your stick layout. I like the standard Xbox layout, so I'd pick the G7 SE over this for that reason, but I still think this is a great controller, especially for fighting games.
The dpad is the same as every dpad on every 8bitdo controller and I've tested many on the Xbox and Switch. It's a given by now that it's the best dpad.
Pro 2 exists for those who prefer this layout, Ultimate exists for people who want the traditional Xbox layout. I don't like the ergonomics of the ultimate at all either, so I waited for the Pro 2 to get an Xbox + Hall Effect update.

@@RevengerPhoenix Hi, you liked this controller for fighting games?
@@zedoreboco8242yeah it’s pretty good. Specially if you’re used to the PlayStation layout and have the dpad far, and the joysticks together.

Turbos gonna be nice in MH Wilds lbg/hbg/bow users 😂
They should make it wireless for PC. I can't get used to the xbox analog layout and i really don't like the nintendo switch pro 2

My xbox controller with hall effect sticks has developed minor drift at 2 deadzone but they have lasted way longer than any other controller I have
Every controller develops drift but hall effect is much better and takes MUCH longer to develop it and its more durable

Would you recommend for people with big hands?

I'm sorry. I don't own the Switch version of the pro2. I only have the sn30 pro for Switch and it doesn't have back buttons.
@@RedBandanaGaming oh okay.
Can this be used competitively, will it work as good as a normal controller?
Yes it can and yes it will. It also have hall effect sticks, so no stick drift.
I was thinking of buying this next month what do you think of it
This controller has hall effect triggers too?
This one does, but there is a previous model that does not. Make sure it has the hall effect symbol on the listing or box before you purchase it.
Sick controller can i get the gamepass code if ur not using it? thnks
Esperando a versão global. Melhor controle que já tive.
Uma pena que ele não é wireless no PC. Eu tenho o Ultimate bluetooth mas não consigo curtir os analógicos assimétricos
Does it work wireless on Xbox Series?
De cuantos metros es el cable?
Hi would you recommend I should buy that controller for PC gaming
As long as you like the stick layout, Yes.

this vs gamesir g7 se'?

What about latency? Wired and wireless? Some say that this is the main issue with the pro 2
how long is the wire for the controller?
3m
Why this is just wired and not wireless?
Xbox hasn't licensed the wireless tech to them yet.
@@RedBandanaGaming in the future this change ?
Does it work on smartphone or only on Xbox?
late as hell but only xbox and windows pc
Does this work plugged into pc?
Yes, it does
I don't understand the reason people say "Doo"; it's "Do", like Nin-Ten-Do e.g., "Dough". Not "doo". They ape Nintendo, not Nintendoo.
Good morning 🌅🌄
👍🏻
does it work as bluebooth?
If it says "wired" no, because for that is a bit cheaper
Will it work on Android or iOS?
No. You have to buy the version designed for mobile.
@@RedBandanaGaming thank you!

The rumble on these controllers is loud and obnoxious. Sent it right back.
