    Add two stainless steel cable ties to each wheel to help hold them on and to make it a bit more difficult for opportunist thieves! 🇬🇧

    • @Hubcaps219
      @Hubcaps219  4 года назад +2

      thanks for the input! its only sticky on the inner side. not facing out. it is duct tape, i would start with 2 layers and test it, you might need more or maybe not.

    thanks for the tip! I used the method on my relative's 04' Accord, but one was missing so I got one from my collection and put it on. I duck-taped the clips as you said, but the wacky thing wobbled so much I HAD to tape it onto the tire. (I'm sorry.😔)

    Do you think this method will work also with the old style hubcaps with the smaller looking clips that look like they have small teeth ? I think with the years they have worn down and not I can’t hit them in flat because some of the material is worn down

    • @Hubcaps219
      @Hubcaps219  Год назад

      yes but try bending the clips out under heat light gently first if plastic or just bend a little if metal

      yes, electrical tape is meant to take heat. Duck tape will melt off

    What if I use double sided tape ??

    • @Hubcaps219
      @Hubcaps219  2 года назад

      nah cause the wheel grease will buildup over time and mess up the adhesive, it's better to rely on pressure over adhesive but if you check the tightness occasionally i think double sided would be just as good

    What about hubcap theft?

    • @Hubcaps219
      @Hubcaps219  3 года назад

      unfortunately, if someone really wants your hubcaps, they wont be stopped even with a zip tie. some people put zip ties on theirs, which of course is a choice thats up to you. but any thief will just cut the zip ties off. if you have stock hubcaps or aftermarket, chances are nobody will bother with them though. i sell hubcaps multiple times a week and ive never had anyone who had caps stolen from them. ive heard of center caps being taken from expensive aftermarket truck rims, but never anything stock. for what it's worth, i would personally avoid the zip ties because why take the extra step to protect something meant for decoration, when its not going to help and it will only add a weird looking piece to the wheel. hope i was helpful!

  • @interstategar

    How does one know that this works?

    • @Hubcaps219
      @Hubcaps219  4 года назад

      i always use it when my buyers get their new hubcaps. not only is the hubcaps physically more difficult to remove, it makes them much tighter on the road. straightening the bend in the ring also helps with tension.

  • @Iknowyoumadnow
    @Iknowyoumadnow 3 года назад

    Genius, you just duck taped off the clips from attaching to the rim smh

    • @Hubcaps219
      @Hubcaps219  3 года назад +10

      the clips dont attach to the rim, it just pressure fits in. the tape widens the clips and makes the hubcap a little wider, thus gripping the wheel edge.
