Can't wait! The pre-amps with built-in EQ's I've always run with an exaggerated "V" curve. Ultimate metal sound still requires systems-based integration between: overdrive (or parametric EQ) hitting front of tube pre-amp; tube power-amp set at sweet-spot (usually around half-way); and modern quality noise-gate in the FX loop. Ultimate metal sound is still a "played-loud" sound, which additionally benefits form speaker break-up, and therefore requires reactive load-box attenuation, or remote isolation with studio monitoring, to listen at "bed-room" levels. the diezel stuff is surprisingly bad, the bogners and the SLO are killing it for me. friedman is ok, VHT is very unique and not for everyone, the IICP is very cool, both ENGL modules are just amazing. thats my experience using the syn50 head and syn2 preamp with mesa poweramp, the synergy poweramp was also a no go for me, WTF!? greetings from germany
