One note about the TC Electronics Mimiq - I have one too, and find that fighting the phasing issue can be a real challenge. One trick I've found is to put something like Waves Vocal Bender on my Mimiq track and slightly adjust the formant - presto! a very noninvasive way of fixing phasing problems.
@@russelw.6288 That is one option, yes, but I generally track into my DAW using the stereo outputs of the Mimiq. OR, when tracking another guitarist, I'll do the same for his DI in addition to micing his amp. That way I can do a quick and dirty reamp using his exact rig at the end of the session.

Kristian posted a video about using the Mimiq for reamping. Parts of his tip only work with a real amp/speaker cab. fliping the phase before the amp the reflip it at the mic pre. The amp/speaker working with the reverse phase slightly change the tone and really help creating a wider stereo image. As he reflip it at the mic pre, no phase issue or very minimal phase cancellation occurs. The video worth checking if you are using real amps.
I would LOVE to see a dedicated video how to make 4 guitars from 2 DIs! Did u flip the phase? Different cabs? Less gain on one amp? Do you pan them the same? Will it work on a intro guitar? My dream is to get my Rectifier Multiwatt together with my Marshall Silver Jubelee 1987 for a godsent tone!
@@KohleAudioKult Bought it but it was nothing about 2 DI into quad tracking with the Mimic what I could find? Funny u mentioned Dan. When he was in my studio for an album with TPH we worked on together (i recorded the drums) he used the Boss DS1 into the distorsion pedal and an IR in my studio.
The driftwood tracks made me pull up my STL Tonality Lasse Lammert plugin to dial in something similar with the purple nightmare amp sim it has. I have the amp going into a blend of two of the DV77 IRs from your eminence pack. Sounds br00ta1

Great video! FWIW, I own a Driftwood Purple Nightmare and just love how aggressive I can make it sound. Such a brilliant amp, the way you’ve chosen to tweak your Darkest Nightmare really sounds amazing. Love it.
Really cool video. Do you try to change the phase relationship when blending guitar and bass tones? Or just stick to first result once you like it? Also, when blending fake doubles. do you use the fake doubles on the same side as the originals? Or use the on the opposite side of the original?
Thanks a lot for the answer! I meant the phase relation between the two tones blended for the bass tone for example. Do you shift them to look for an ideal phase relation or just go with it if it sounds good already
Your should either use the digital in or the balanced line in. Only exception would be if you wanna use analog pedals in front of the Kemper (like the Mimiq in this case). Then you need a reamping box.
My friend great video as always. Question when you did fake double with the miniq to have another DI, you passed the signal through a real amp going out your computer or only amp sims into the computer all?
This time it went out of the DAW into the pedal and the Kemper. On most other productions it’s a tube amp. The course includes an extra set of DI tracks that already went through the Mimiq pedal. I don’t see a reason why this should not work with amp sims in the box.
@@KohleAudioKult thank you just wanted to know if it can be posible the double going out the daw only for the mimiq cause I don’t have a real amp or other real thing to pass through.

Well, Abbath says "motherfuckers", so that's OK with me, lol. More seriously, I think I missed the part about Speaker / Mic / IR ^^; Great band and great tones thanks to you, by the way ;)
Sorry for that. I simply could not remember what cab / speaker combo I used when I did the profiles. but chances are high it's the standard V30 in an early 2000s Mesa cab.
Sounds like chuggy, meaty, down tuned DEATH metal. I hear no black metal in this and def not any trve, kvlt and evil sounding stuff. What would you use for TRVE, KVLT black metal?
Gives me huge Varg vibes! I prefer the less compressed and scooped sound of the "original" guitar sound. The overall sound is really good, but reminds me, apart of some of the vocals, mostly of melodic death metal. Edit: Put it down to ~80 - 100 bpm, give it more fuzz and it should sound a lot like doom metal, which I'm a huge fan of :D
How do you like that Guitar Tone? 👿
