- Saniflo Sanibest Pro Installation from the Saniflostore Finally Finished. We installed a full bath and a direct connection laundry set up. We used the Saniflo Sanibest Pro Round Kit With the Extension and for the laundry we used the Saniflo Sanicom.
Doing homework for my own install soon. This is the type of finished product everybody should shoot for. Great detail on the shower
I just planned out my work to cut / rip up my concrete floor and when reviewing plans I realized that it would be difficult for me to get deep enough. THEN I FOUND THIS SOLUTION THANK GOD! Great products!
This is awesome, not only the Saniflo but the entire laundry/bath project looks awesome. Something to shoot for if I redo the utility/laundry!
good call on the ball valve, I'm glad I saw this.
Great video, excellent information and awesome use of small basement space. I'll keep it in mind when buying and remodeling my first house.
Wow. Fantastic set up.
amazing job! I referenced this a lot to do my own bathroom so thanks a million!
That was an excellent video and an excellent installation
Nice job--looks like you make the most of a small space.
Nice job on the bathroom layout, looks great. What kind of material (wood) did you use for the step up into the shower? Is it varnished? Does it get slippery when wet?
Well done!
Great job! I also recently installed a Saniflo toilet in my garage and immediately noticed, similar to yours, that the waterline (refill) level in the bowl is very low, only filling the trap way, not up higher as in normal toilet bowls. Another commenter has noticed the same thing. Is it because of the lower p-trap design or is it a venting issue that cause some of the bowl water be sucked in?
did you get a private message on this M ?? im wondering the same
You lost me when you said you were a Patriot fan...lol. Great Video!
I want to design for wheelchair access, including grab bars. No step into shower. Is elevating the entire bathroom while allowing the grinder unit to remain at floor level a solution. How high from the floor to shower floor is required?
Ok I have some hope to design my tiny toilet
Amazing
3:52 what happens if you don't vent it or use a one way vent like studor or oatey vent?
Looks really good 👍
Can u adjust that water level?? Looks practically empty !.
Hi, great video! Quick question, I have one of these and the bathroom lights flicker anytime I flush. Any idea what it could be?
Just saw this video now. Thank you for posting. How much did the whole thing cost (bathroom only)?
I would like to know as well.
Keep an eye on them
Would you mind sharing what is the model of the shower you used here?
It is the American Standard Ovation. 48"
This Vid is over 1 year old. Given the length of time that you now have spent with this system, is there anything that you wail have done differently? Any regrets with the brand or model os the discharge system you chose?
I'm asking because I will be adding a basement bath in a few weeks time and I'm stumped as to what brand and model to go with for a new shower, vanity faucet and toilet.
No regrets at all, the unit has been flawless. It has been a great addition to our home, our guests and teenagers now have their own space
Take a look at either the Sanibest Pro, or the Saniaccess 3 systems. They are both excellent units, both very reliable. The competitors just don't even come close.
Any problems draining with the wet vent system? Looking to add a half bath and a saniaccess 2.
I am currently building a similar shower set up and i need to build a step, Please explain in detail how you built the step if you can.
It is a teak step, it was cut to the shape, sanded then oiled. The face of it is flexible azek trim board, in retrospect I would have done it without the bend but I thought I would need the space. It functions great because it gives good traction but a full step ultimately would be safer.
The finish looks great. Considering the Sani pro or access 3 for a bathroom in my basement with a high drain. The shower base looks fantastic. The plywood step gives it a great look. My question is, the space between the floor and the bottom of the plywood doesn't look like a 2x6 step up. Did your flooring raise the floor? Looks like a 2x4 underneath? Thanks
It must be the angle as it is a 2x6 base so that rise is prob 5.5 inches or so.
@@TheSanifloStore The wooden step is great. A 9" step would be awkward and dangerous.
I agree, a 9" steb would be a bit awkward. Our step up is a 6" step, it is not awkward at all. We have had a customer do a 9" riser as his shower was very far from the Saniflo, he chose to do two steps up and it looked great.
I watched your installation and finished videos. Really helpful information and great use of small space. Gorgeous finishing for a basement bathroom. I like the expanded space in the shower. I have one question though, what did you do for a vent fan? I may have missed something on that. Thanks for sharing.
Shane
We did a Panasonic fan, it is a high volume fan with heat. Actually really nice unit, very quiet. I think it was the Whisper Warm.

@@TheSanifloStore How did you do the step to the shower? whats the wood? how did you get the shape?
My basement sucks, I have about 82 inch ceiling height to the joust. I'm having a problem building a bathroom down there
Is there any way to make this shower set-up work without building a raised floor?
Repeating a question already asked; Why is the trap weir so low? any chance this will be rectified by raising the trap weir in future models? Thanks
Great video. When the shower runs does the pump turn on for for only 1-2 seconds at a time? That's what mine is doing, it seems to work well but I thought it would run continuously. Is that working correctly?
Great question. I am also hooking up a sink to the unit. If I am running water in the sink for a while how often will the pump turn on and for how long @saniflostore?
Does Saniflo have a product for installing a toilet on a concrete slab on a first floor without cutting into the concrete?
Do you still need a permit
I have Danilo shower can I instal a floor level shower is it possible to instal a floor level shower and woul I need an additional pump to pump shower water tosaniflo unit as the unit would be slightly higher than shower drain many thanks.
You need gravity from the shower down to the pump. The Min elevation difference needs to be 5". You can either elevate the shower or drop the pump into the flooring surface but either way you need that 5" differential.
Sir, if a Saniflo toilet must be flushed everyday to avoid it being damaged, I could never take a vacation, right?
Not sure where you read that, it is definitely not necessary to flush daily. Usage is good thing, if you plan on being away for a while I would be sure to flush it several times before you go or descale with white vinegar. The goal is to keep the inside in particular the membrane as clean as possible so using it prevents things from drying out .
i would swap the ball valve for a backflow valve
There is a check valve on the unit, a second one should not be used as it can harm the pump.
Was wondering if the pump ever went bad how would you know ? Especially if you are in the shower would you get flooded ?
gtogus712 yeah they forget to tell you that part lol
has an alarm
How is it working now a few years later?
It has been flawless, I run white vinegar through about ever other month to keep down the water scale. It has heavy usage which is actually really good for them because it prevents anything from drying up in there.
did the tank wobble when connecting it to the bowl? i have the wing nuts on as tight as i can by hand. please advise, thanks
No it should not wobble alternate sides and use a pair of pliers bring the tank down so just about touches the bowl will feel like it's going to break but it won't.
LOVE THE PATRIOTS CAN.....😍😍😍😍😍🤪🤪🤪🤪
If the run from the shower to the pump is only 4’ can I get away with using 2x4 instead of 2x6 to bring up height of shower pan?
You need the at least a 6" grade differential for the pump to switch properly. The caution with going with a 4" platform is the shower drain line will start to fill with water prior to the pump kicking on and the pump could short cycle.
I see you put your pump in the wall. How often does this need servicing and how would you access it if it were completely enclosed in a wall. Thanks.
Richard,
While you do want to maintain an access point for the Macerator/Grinders the only real time you would have to service it would be if you had an item get caught in the blades or pump impeller(if something bad went down like a bottle cap etc). In my case I do have to swap batteries in my alarm when necessary but other than that no specific service intervals. We recommend that people descale their units with either our de-scaler or white vinegar from time to time depending on the hardness of your water.

Where do you show where the drain line goes out thru wall? I have need but not really an UP drain. Can you point me to say video of Ground level guest cottage and how to do drain on outside wall .. DO THEY GET HOOKED TO SEWER OUT SIDE OR SEPTIC? NEED TO KNOW AS I COULD DO A FEW OF THESE ON MY MOUNTAIN PROPERTY
Since the shower drain needs a slope, how far can the center of the shower pan be from the unit with a 6" raised shower (and concrete notched under to fit the trap) ?
Our shower drain is about three feet away from the pump, and with a concrete-poured shower base, and the concrete notched as far as possible, I think we raised it only 4-5”. With the custom made floorpan, it is a very easy step into the shower. Raising it 8” is a joke- unless your pump is 20ft away.
actually I'm looking to buy the toilet grinding pump system , like the video , How much is for the saniflo toilet cost , and what is the phone number to order one, i need one this week please thanks

Hi,
I'm adding a downstairs shower room to my home. I was planning to go for a sani access 3 or sanibest pro. Not sure what to go for. What would you recommend?
Hello,
How high will you be pumping? What is the expected usage(residential use or rental/commercial)? If residential with a lift of under 15ft, the Saniaccess 3 is an Excellent choice as it provides you with easy entry to the grinder in case of a problem. If commercial where there may be feminine products or condoms going down then the better choice is the Sanibest Pro as it can handle those items. They are both excellent systems, in most residential applications we recommend the Saniaccess 3 as the access panels are an excellent option.
Feel free to reach out to discuss. 866-658-0505 , if you plan to order online don't forget the coupon code RUclips to save 10%.

I really enjoyed watching this video, however, if I understood properly, the sink and the shower are connected to the same pipeline. Now, do you need to close one of the equipment pipe access points to do that. By the way, the design of the bathroom I am planning to build is very similar to yours. In advance, thanks for your answer.
Yes, the unit is supplied with the plugs to seal up the ports if you ard not using them. So in my case I use one side then the other is sealed up. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions.

Thank you so much for your response, I will call you if I have any question.
Cannot find your shower install video can you put a link.
What sound barrier protection do you use ?
Hi! Does the shower/sink inputs turn on the grinder? Or is the shower water just pumped without the grinder?
Yes, the sink and shower activate the unit. It is one function grinding /pumping... So one motor, one shaft... So each time it kicks on the grinder and pump impeller both spin.
Hi everyone! Nice video!
I want to build a bathroom in my walk in closet but I heard so many mixed reviews about saniflo...
First of all, what is the difference between saniflo and sanibest?
Would you recommend saniflo (or sanibest) as an option? I hear the toilets get clogged, can explode, leak.. i hear so many different things i dont even know anymore...
Adam,
Hello, thanks for your interest. So, Saniflo has several different systems depending on your situation. I opted for the Sanibest Pro which is our most capable unit, it has a 1hp commercial grinder which is excellent for high use situations or in commercial installations. I installed it as I wanted to show customers this specific unit as it is our most popular system. For most residential applications people either go with the Saniaccess 3 or the Sanibest Pro.
The systems are very reliable when installed properly and when used properly. In most cases when somebody has a problem with a system more often then not it is an installation problem which contributes to the issue or a customer has flushed items down that should not be flushed into a macerator or grinder(bottlecap, rubber gloves etc). If you are planning a full bath, check out the Saniaccess 3 or the Sanibest Pro, give us a call with questions and when you are ready to order if online use the coupon code "youtube" or just call us for a great deal.
Thank you,
Mark

The SanifloStore hi Mark thank you for your thorough explanation!
I live in Canada.. do you guys deliver or do you have stores that carry your items? Is there any warranty on the saniflo best pro as it seems to be the best model you have. Any warranty on your products?
Adam, typically we only ship pumps to canada as if the porcelain were to break it would not be good for anybody. Another option is we work with the Kinek network on the border if you are close to a border depot.
Feel free to call the office 866-658-0505.
Thanks,

Any issues with water draining slowly out of the shower? I just watched the other video, and the shower base is made of 2x6, so the bottom of the shower tray is 5.5" above the concrete slab. Shouldn't it be raised more, i think the pump doesn't kick in until the water in the macerator reaches 5" deep?
Where can you find the 2 way vent? I have looked at Saniflo's website and local Lowe's, not coming up with anything.. Thanks for the video
So, when we say "two way vent" we are simply saying that air needs to be able to travel both in and out. There is no specific device or anything, it is just an open 1.5" pipe to allow air transfer. Some people in the past would use Studor vents, which allow air in but not out, they are considered a 1 way vent and should not be used. Feel free to call with questions as well.
Thanks for the clarification!
Where did you get the shower kit from?
Do we need a p trap for shower when using saniflo
Yes you will.
i WANT TO ADD A SHOWER TO AN EXISTING HALF BATH ON GROUND FLOOR W DRAIN BEING OUTSIDE...HOW CAN I DO THIS? IS THERE ANY SANIFLO INSTALLERS? THANKS SO MUCH, YOUR INPUT IS VALUABLE TO ME !!!
We have a unit called the Sanishower, basically the shower would be like this one in the video, but it would drain down to the Sanishower pump then the pump would handle the waste water from there. Feel Free to Contact us at the office for more info. 866-658-0505
What is the dimension of the bathroom? Looks about 4.5 ft x 8.5 ft?
It is probably around that, I can get a measurement for you.
Any issues with the American Standard shower door leaking?
No, none at all. I did caulk the inside where the rail meets the fiberglass.
Hi, I will be installing one of these in my basement. What’s the typical life expectancy of the pump for normal use? I imagine the motor will eventually burn out from so many start/stops, can the pump only be replaced or do you have to replace the whole unit when that happens?
If they are installed properly the expected life span is about 50k flushes which should be about 10+/- years. If and when the unit does fail it makes the most sense to swap out the entire macerator/grinder as it gets more expensive to replace just the internal motor. We discount down heavily for customers that end up in that situation. Improper installations (hard 90's in the discharge line beyond the check valve or unvented) will net about a half of the expected life span.
Did you use red seal under the showerpan?
Not sure what you mean by Red Seal? My pan sits on my pressure treated base.
How much was this bathroom project?
Hi what size is your discharge pipe? I was going to use 32mm pipe
You can use either 3/4" or 1". I used 1" for mine. Most installations will use 1" unless you are nearing the maximum distances of the pump then go with 3/4".
How much concrete did you notch out for the shower p trap? Thanks!
Sorry for the delay, so I notched a spot about 2.5" wide x about 5 inches long and about 2" deep. Basically it just accommodates the down sweep of the P trap. I will try to post a picture of it or a video of it shortly.
The SanifloStore , thanks for all the info. The p trap would be easy to accidentally omit from basement bathroom plans!
That space between your ceiling and shower door seems awful tight for the steam to escape.
It has never been a problem, we have a very strong panasonic ceiling fan which works awesome.
Can you hook up any shower stall ?
Yes, it just needs to be elevated to allow space for the Ptrap and to achieve gravity for proper drainage.
What are the dimensions for this bathroom?
review after 6 years?
It has been 100%, I run white vinegar through it every other month to descale it. Super easy, I just pour about 3/4 gallon down my sink drain then run the sink for a second to clear the trap so it does not smell like vinegar then I walk away. Usage is very good for the systems as well, ours is used daily.
@@TheSanifloStore thx so much
