She 100% deserved a spot this was incredible
This started so small, tender, vulnerable. Loved the sparkle that bled into her vocal. Gave us a dramatic slide into the Big notes and some well-executed melisma. This girl is so powerful... and dramatic. Love it - So You Wanna Be A Singer
Yep, the beginning of this had me in a chokehold.
People don't realize how hard that song is. Hayley is a vocal beast. Jayna made it her own. Kudos to her, wow
And even Hayley can’t nail the high notes all the time
With more time I know she could’ve got it more polished especially in the beginning. But yeah this is one of my favorite songs and it was cool to hear a different arrangement.

Jayna was polished from beginning to end. However, the front of house engineer muffed the opening Vox. This would have been top 20 on the all time idol list of songs…had the engineer cut her vocals through in the mix...and shy-ed the strings way back. And for the final measure...the camera director panned out, instead of staying in on Jayna's profile, which took away from the intention of her impassioned ending. I watched this performance 5-6 times…amazing.

In her audition I I heard Anita Baker and even some Streisand so listened at some of their songs and she could easily cover them funny I was also taking a trip down memory lane a few days ago listening to Toni Braxton... and you are right she has a similar tone and cold nail Braxton too I have no doubt! I fell that Jayna Elise is consistently pushing herself out of her comfort zone and her performances are showing star quality, and she is working the stage and her stage presence is only matched by Roman! They both literally grab your attention and yet were both having to sing to stay in!
