- Seven new MRT stations on Singapore's Thomson-East Coast Line -- from Tanjong Rhu to Bayshore -- will begin passenger service on 23 June. This means around 235,000 households will be within a 10-minute walk from an existing TEL station. In 2026, more stations will open in Bedok South, Sungei Bedok and Xilin. They include an interchange connecting the Thomson-East Coast and Downtown lines. Meanwhile, the North East Line will also be extended, with Punggol Coast Station set to open by the end of this year.
Good to see the LRTs are receiving a much needed upgrade.
I am still hoping for Punggol to.connect to North side (directly to Yishun/Sembawang/Canberra/Woodlands) I mean Punggol/Sengkang is so Near to Yishun But the only best option is by BUS which takes 1hr. And MRT is like doing a UTurn to change line to Serangoon. Getting to West side if this punggol to North MRT route will be much faster too. Its not like everyone works in town.
change at hougang instead
The Marine Terrace MRT is just a 5 min walk away for me, so excited.
The Thomson East Coast Line Stage 4 opens during the second anniversary of the revamped i12 Katong Mall at Marine Parade.
I am excited
The LRTs are a mess especially if you are a first time user. They need to put up more information on how to use it
I agree
Need better infomation for LRT
Can't wait for Siglap to open, it's going to be so much more convenient
Removed so many bus lines during Covid, how about returning them back ???
How about Teck Lee Station?
Other countries open new train line/stations. Will let the public ride for a week free. They endure so long for the construction. At least let the public try for a few days for those 7 stations foc ma.
but xilin and sungei bedok in downtown line is 2024 open and bedok south and sungei bedok in east coast line is 2025 open and the hume also 2025 open
Both MRT Stations delayed till 2026 except Hume MRT Station along Downtown Line open in 2025.
What will the TEL Melody Look Like?
don't have and probably will never have
But for the North East Line there is one station missing for NE2 but its the called Kampong Bahru
Yea
NE2 will never exist and there is no confirmed station name
@@joofer.j why
@@FireFoxGaming56 NE2 and CC30 are both in the same spot in Keppel (you can search it up on Google maps)
originally Keppel station was going to be NE2, but CCL stage 6 also passes by the same area so LTA just decided to build it with CCL instead
Building so many lines yet no direct from punggol to yishin, despite just across a river...
Is the service 24 hours?
How about more bus station near HDB area?
THANK YOU LORD FOR
CDC VOUCHERS MRT VOUCHERS.....
Martin Lee stop your WP propaganda i just wan to listen to news man
Congrats to those staying along marine parade.
The rich has become more rich.
Honestly, the people living along those lines, they also don't need. One by one use the ECP not the MRT.
The government plans to reduce and finally outphase private transport.
@@krollpeter for poor people, go and listen to Chee Hong Tat first then don't talk rubbish.
@MrBoliao98 Are you a resident along those stations? What makes you so confident they use the ECP highway instead of the MRT?
More transportation options is generally a good thing, especially in a city, it could potentially reduce congestion on the East West Lines as well.
Also, who knows if tourists want to visit the lesser known areas of Singapore, they are able to use this line as well.
For example, if they want to visit East Coast Park, they can opt to stop at Bayshore station.
@@CasualGuy60 Of course they can. However, this massive extension of the MRT network is not meant for tourists.
@@CasualGuy60 ur an idiot. They take No.2 faster than EW Line.
The most under utilized line in Singapore. Its not build base on demand!!! Thats how prodigal Government spend public $$$$ freely.
Wait till the RTS comes up. Then you'll whine about overcrowding.
