That in-built ND alone makes this compelling for me. The on-again off-again with ND filtration (eg going from indoors to outside to back indoors) was the bane of my existence on my last project. Might be time to switch over to some EF glass.
We do offer an EF to MFT auto adapter, but we don't have a variable ND filter version yet. Here's the link: fotodioxpro.com/search?type=product&q=ef+to+mft+fusion
Looks awesome. Shame it’s good for photo only. I do mainly video so the lack of continues autofocus during video is a “no go” for me. Hopefully in future!
Thanks for the input. We have been able to get auto focus to work in video on our L-mount and Nikon Z FUSION adapters, so hopefully we can find a way to get it to work on our FUJI versions as well. Stay tuned for future updates here on our RUclips channel.
@@FotodioxInc I definitely will. If I can attach sigma 18-35 art to Fuji x mount with cAF and built in NDs, you will have a massive market opened with every RUclipsr out there.

I'd really love to ditch my collection of NDs and step up rings though... Any chance you guys might add continuous AF in the future?
We don't have test results on that lens, so I can't say for certain. Electronic aperture control will most likely work, but I can't vouch for auto focus accuracy with that specific lens.
If you can figure out a way to double adapt two adapters, technically it would work, but there's a chance that you'd get some weird reflections, since now you'd have both an optic and a ND filter set behind your lens.
@@FotodioxInc Oy. That’s sad indeed ! Thank you for answering. But at least, would you support continuous focus for video purpose ? Even if it’s slower than native lenses ? It’s not like Fuji got the Sony perfect ar anyway ! Or do you think one day, releasing a X-mount to PL or something like that, with a eND (electronic, for killing the game !)
The Canon RF mount has a 20.00 mm focal flange distance, while the Fujifilm X-mount has a 17.7 mm focal flange distance, so technically there is enough space for an adapter. The trick is to get the two systems to talk to each other. We don't have plans to make an adapter like this at this time, but it might be possible in the future.
@@FotodioxInc Canon ed-s 10-18. Apparently focus is electronic. So that may not owrk with your adaptor ? perhaps i would need a fully manual lens for the Fotodiox to work ? a list of lenses that your adaptor is compatable with would take away all the guess work
Just had an idea, would you consider creating X Mount to X mount “adapter” solely for the reason of putting the ND filters between the body and the lens? I think it would be massive convenience to have the ND filters there rather than in front of the lens. And then also there might be no problem with continues autofocus or face detection etc. Simply because it is native lens. It would be like having built in ND filters in the Fuji cameras.
Unfortunately you can't put extra space between a native lens and a native camera and maintain infinity focus. When you put extra space between, say, a Fuji X lens and a Fuji X body, the lens loses the ability to focus to infinity and becomes a macro only lens. This is why we can only make ND Throttle adapters for non-native lenses that have a deeper focal flange distance than the camera we're adapting them to. That extra focal flange distance gives us room for an adapter and the variable ND filter to go in between. Hope this makes sense.
@@FotodioxInc Thank you so much for going the extra mile and explaining it to me. That is such a shame. I knew about the fact it would help to gain the macro ability the same way as a macro extension tube, but I didn't know about loosing the infinity focus. Will have to wait for the continuous AF then :) Thank you for all of your work on this one.
@@petrthingsilike8487 While you lose infinite focus, you don't necessarily need infinite focus. The shorter the adapter, the more distant focus you retain, so a very thin adapter with an ND filter would make a lens still very usable for most purposes like vlogging. But without any continuous autofocus, that's kind of moot. But you could still probably focus on anything within ~20-40ft or less just fine, depending on the focal lengths infinite focus distance.
