I've got an M&P 1st version. It runs flawlessly & I love it. It did have problems with the striker at the very beginning, but I sent it into Smith and Wesson, and they replaced it. It's run like a champ ever since.
M&P 2.0 is my ECC and I always clean it once a month or after every time I take it to the range. This video makes me happy knowing how much I could put it through before it would fail me, even if I didn't ever clean it.

Apex trigger was the only upgrade that I had to make. Have several different brand firearms, but this is my absolute favorite. Also, this is the first video I've seen of yours, but instantly liked and subscribed.
Excellent choice. I keep wanting to “upgrade” but I can’t find anything that could really take its place besides maybe another m&p shield maybe the shield plus with higher capacity. I like the feel of the sig p365x but I don’t really feel like taking a round to the Dick or femoral artery due to sigs engineering.
I miss mine. It just vanished into thin air. One day I was carrying it, the next I went to church and realized I forgot to grab it before I left the house. Got home, looked everywhere, through my truck, at my parents... everywhere I can think. It just disappeared. I've been carrying my Glock since. It's just not the same. I've carried that M&P 2.0 for 4 years and loved it dearly. Got it, 2 mags, a CT light, and a mag loader for $317.
Let's be honest had SIG done this type of destructive test on their striker fired pistols, they probably would have found the touchless fire feature in their pistols and fixed it before selling it to millions of people to potentially kill themselves. As a sidenote a sidenote, I just purchased an M&P 2.0 from shooting surplus. I am expecting it in the mail any day.
Eh metal and plastic work differently though , metal bend then breaks plastics is just flexible with little heat bend back to place who knows it would sick to watch
The ONLY two makes of sidearms that I carry up here in rural Alaska are Glock and S&W. I own many other pistols to include Sig and HK, but these are the only two that have my complete faith. Plus the fact is, Sig and HK are just too plain nice (expensive) to abuse.
S&M has had ups and downs but their lineup of M&P 2s are amazing. I've put well over 1500 rounds through my Performance Center so far and it's been a champ.
I bought a 2.0 optics ready 9mm yesterday, and of course I'm looking to make myself feel secure about my purchase. This video was all that I needed. Side note: I almost went with the Glock 19x gen 5 mos. Im glad I didn't.
Picking up an M&P2.0 Compact with tall sights and optic ready for $460 new in the box and running it as my EDC a little over 2 yrs ago turned out to be a great move. Super happy to see my M&P crushing all the torture tests. I do think it's a little on the ugly side, but after running it through a few outdoor classes and regularly training in dust, dirt, rain, mud, and snow, I definitely trust my life with it. I don't think you'll find something out of the box with the same quality, reliability, trigger, and features at the same price point.
Homey literally beats it with a wrench after it's been so badly damaged that the frame is warped/bent and cracked and it still doesn't go off until he pulls the trigger, meanwhile Sigs go off in holsters so often they have to issue press releases like every other week explaining how its not their fault
Traded my Shield 1.0 for a 9mm 2.0 years ago and I don’t have a single bad thing to say about them other than I wish magazines for them existed like they do for Glocks. Fantastic guns.
Hey, I really like what you're doing here, recreating adverse, real-world conditions, but testing has changed quite a bit recently. The most recent addition to testing standards and practices is the Dynamic Thrust Application; SOCOM won't even look at your firearm unless it scores a 3.0 +/-. On the civilian-side this test can be done with hobby rocket motors, and the test itself is pretty self explanatory. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Obviously for the sake of OPSEC there are questions I just can't answer
M&P 2.0 series is such an amazing handgun. Looks good, great trigger, nice grip, ergonomics, and handling. Only thing that holds close to it in my eyes is a Canik. They just haven't been around as long (in the U.S. dunno about Turkey) so time will tell about durability.
I accidentally put 10mm in a .45 acp M&P 2.0. For one it shot the round. However it jammed up the 10mm round. Took the slide off no squib load. The barrel and the chamber were dirty I didn't shoot it anymore that day. Took the pistol home cleaned it real good lubed it up. Took it out the next week it shot no problem with the correct 45 acp ammunition. So yeah I love my M&P 2.0.
my dad worked for columbus police department when Smith and Wesson was developing the M&P. their department and a few others were part of the development process. the CPD range officers fired 10,000 rounds through a M&P only with a cleaning and re oil when it got so dry it and full of residue it couldn't cycle. about a cleaning every 2000 rounds. it jammed 4 times.
I still think the M&P should have been the military's choice for their pistol but SIG has bigger pockets I guess, such a shame but we M&P owners know that it works quite well.
They had one of these at my range as a rental and it had so much rust caked on it the barrel + the inside of the slide was a solid orange color. The guy who grabbed it just dropped a couple dabs of oil on it before handing it over. Still ran like a champ.
I love my M&Ps. I’ve had a full size M&P 40, a 9mm Shield and currently own an M&P 22, 9mm Performance Center 2.0 Shield and just bought a 9mm M&P 2.0 Compact. They just work for me.
The most underrated 9mm. You can buy these all day long on the secondary market for the price of canik. Glock is great but this is a great gun for the money. Just wish Magpul made mags for them.
I just picked one up 2 days ago in .45 simply cause it was a good deal and wanted a .45 gun besides my 1911s and my brother told me about grand thumbs torture test and now this think I made a good buy 😂
I've got all the new striker fired guns from every brand. My favorite at the range are the pdp and vp9. My favorite at home night stand gun I bet my life on is my full size m&p 2.0 with factory 23 round mags.
Since the day i held a m&p 2.0 in my hands @ a gun store.. i knew it was gonna be in my edc rotation, especially with the apex trigger. Never getting rid of mine.
I've ran a m&p9c for years and years. I've shot so many rounds through it my shoulder and forearmarm looks like Popeyes from my turret press. (I used to grab a 1K brick of primers every time I went into the sporting store or LGS for 30 bucks for years) when ammo-geddon hit.. I went and started stacking totes.. on totes.. full of primers😂 the M&P has NEVER let me down. And I like ma rounds spicy. Range ammo is still +p😂 epic sidearms
I bought an M&P 2.0 in 10mm after that mud test. I wanted a 10mm anyways, and I would've gotten a P220 or a 1911 in 10mm but garand thumb singlehandedly sold the M&P2.0 to me. I was not expecting to like it nearly as much as I do. The fact it's nearly invincible and will stand up to conditions I will never even come close to putting it through isn't necessary but it's good to know.
They are really good guns. They have glock like reliability, but in my opinion, built alot better. The m&p has an entire steel frame molded in the polymer. I have a 1st gen 45, that I've ran several thousand 45 super/45smc rounds through..its holding up just fine, although I did put a stronger recoil spring I it. I

This was the gun that my girlfriend picked out and bought when I took her to buy her first gun. I've never been so proud
S&W M&P 2.0... the most durable reliable pistol out there, as far as I can tell.
I didn’t know Shane Gillis had an albino twin brother and he owned shooting surplus.
whaddup dawg
I’ve been running a 3.6” 2.0 compact 9mm since they came out and have carried the same m&p shield 9 everyday for about a decade.
Next you should do the sig m18 since it also passed the mud and ice test just like the S&W
Doesnt pass the “dont fire inside the holster” test unfortunately 😂
@@puffymarshmellow3149 🤣😂 hey that’s a feature not a bug
@FentanylFloydrotsinhell don’t worry the sig p320 appears to only fire at cops
It didn’t though? M&P passed flawlessly, sig didn’t.
@@Ferrum_Armory_llcor anyone on a gun range.
I bought one after seeing the ice and mud videos. Love it so far.
As a m&p owner i can say this is a typical day of carrying lol
That pistol took the most abuse of any firearm I've seen on the RUclipss. Love the channel.
Damn my metal frame 2.0 must be indestructible
That’s what I’m thinking the m&p 2.0 metal. Sheeesh. Considering the polymer did this fine. I could only imagine the metal frame.
Eh metal and plastic work differently though , metal bend then breaks plastics is just flexible with little heat bend back to place who knows it would sick to watch
I know one thing.. your metal frame m&p is sexy as effff.. I want one bad
@@DsrtObvrfacts
The normal M&P2.0 does have a metal frame its just wrapped in polymer. Kinda like glock mags are.
I bought my first handgun, got a barely used M&P and ive put over 1000+ rds throught it and ive never had a problem yet.
Now send it back to Smith & Wesson or some repair under warranty haha
This
The ONLY two makes of sidearms that I carry up here in rural Alaska are Glock and S&W.
I own many other pistols to include Sig and HK, but these are the only two that have my complete faith.
Plus the fact is, Sig and HK are just too plain nice (expensive) to abuse.
Brandon Herrera's next gun meme review. THE M&P 2.0
S&M has had ups and downs but their lineup of M&P 2s are amazing. I've put well over 1500 rounds through my Performance Center so far and it's been a champ.
Let’s see Paul Allen’s M&P 2.0 torture test
Unbelievable... my M&P 1.0 has been my EDC for literally over 8 years now and I've never had a single failure or issue with it.
The Ice King. The Mud King. And now…. The Lich King
Really want to get the all metal grey M&P M2.0 and an FPC to go with it. Already have a Shield Plus, but I want it to be summer carry only.
You know what must be done. G19 identical test.
I bought a 2.0 optics ready 9mm yesterday, and of course I'm looking to make myself feel secure about my purchase. This video was all that I needed.
Side note: I almost went with the Glock 19x gen 5 mos. Im glad I didn't.
Hello fellow 2.0 enthusiasts.
I use a MP in USPSA. Damn good blaster
Homey literally beats it with a wrench after it's been so badly damaged that the frame is warped/bent and cracked and it still doesn't go off until he pulls the trigger, meanwhile Sigs go off in holsters so often they have to issue press releases like every other week explaining how its not their fault
Imagine a pistol that’s both reliable AND ergonomic. 😅
Dynamic thrust application sounds like a porno
M&P 2.0 series is such an amazing handgun.
Looks good, great trigger, nice grip, ergonomics, and handling.
Only thing that holds close to it in my eyes is a Canik.
They just haven't been around as long (in the U.S. dunno about Turkey) so time will tell about durability.
Are you part if the Grand Thumb expanded universe. Are you a different Micah from the multiverse?
I accidentally put 10mm in a .45 acp M&P 2.0. For one it shot the round. However it jammed up the 10mm round. Took the slide off no squib load. The barrel and the chamber were dirty I didn't shoot it anymore that day. Took the pistol home cleaned it real good lubed it up. Took it out the next week it shot no problem with the correct 45 acp ammunition. So yeah I love my M&P 2.0.
Man, I was hoping you would flip it over and run it over again to straighten it out 😂
my dad worked for columbus police department when Smith and Wesson was developing the M&P. their department and a few others were part of the development process. the CPD range officers fired 10,000 rounds through a M&P only with a cleaning and re oil when it got so dry it and full of residue it couldn't cycle. about a cleaning every 2000 rounds. it jammed 4 times.
Own this for 2 years. Zero issues. Not a single one.
I don’t love it. I don’t hate it.
Totally missed the chance to see if the gun would work after a L̶i̶b̶e̶r̶t̶y̶ Liberal Gun safe is dropped on it.
I still think the M&P should have been the military's choice for their pistol but SIG has bigger pockets I guess, such a shame but we M&P owners know that it works quite well.
This is Hi-Point's cultured brother.
Hi-point with both parents. 🤌🤌
Idk that pointing the hot end of that at the propane tank is a solid plan. But I'm here for it.
S&W marketing team watching this tonight instead of P-Hub
The most underrated 9mm. You can buy these all day long on the secondary market for the price of canik. Glock is great but this is a great gun for the money. Just wish Magpul made mags for them.
I love the videos. You now have to do a 320 in the same way. Please.
That’s my EDC baby. I got the CORE version in 9mm and it never jams I have 2k rounds though it
Micah "today we're gonna have a funny little test for this pistol"
Smith and Wesson MP 2.0 "🗿"
As an mp 2.0 owner, yeah this is the correct way of breaking it in.
Since the day i held a m&p 2.0 in my hands @ a gun store.. i knew it was gonna be in my edc rotation, especially with the apex trigger. Never getting rid of mine.
Just to say, TobyMac’s newish songs “I just need U” and “Love broke thru” absolutely slap my guy.
I hope Garand thumb gives you a shout out that would rock a friend helping a friend never hurts.
I
i’ve actually never heard that abt the oil burning being hell. that’s a very plausible explanation for the theology behind it
