I watched your video on the Crankshaft censor. I was able to do all of it by myself. I am a 62 year old woman. Thank you for walking me thru the process. 😊

Just used this to locate the sensor on a '17 model. Same setup. ProDemand only gives a very vague description of where it is. Thanks dawg

It's crazy how just a little sensor, like the Crankshaft Position Sensor, in the newer cars of today can keep the car from even starting or running! My wife had an '05 Hyundai Sonata, Crankshaft position sensor failed, car wouldn't start, there was 2 areas where it could possibly be, one was the easier of the two but still required the removal of the starter as it was mounted behind it. The other possible location was inside the timing belt cover, fortunately it was behind the starter, much easier than taking the timing chain cover off! I replaced it and it ran fine.

Don't waste your time taking out plastic inner fender. Jack up the vehicle and take the front passenger tire off. Pull the left inner plastic fender bottom out. Then I used a 13" 2x4 to prop it in between the plastic and the left side of the control A arm. The 2x4 will be pointing down to the front at an angle. There's enough room to access the rubber boot, then unplug and remove 10mm bolt. Replace crankshaft position sensor. Way faster.

I've got a 04 frontier, is the crankshaft sensor the same side as the 05. I had the same thing happening with mine. I had the motor rebuild and everything is new spark plugs, wires, plugs new cover, but I took it out for a drive and I had to call a friend come get me and can't figure it out.

The IPDM gave a lot of trouble for several years. It will intermittently not power up the ecm. The check engine light in the gauge cluster not illuminating when the switch is turned on could be a sign of this.
Thank you very much for watching✌️😁

Hi Will. So glad I saw this while looking for solutions! How awesomely wonderful you are in your craft; skilled, like an artist constructing a rare painting! I'm getting a PO340 cam sensor code on my 2000, 3.3, V6 Nissian Frontier, and P0325, knock sensor code, yet dealership code says needs transmission - 3rd gear ratio issue. Another video said distributor issue. Had towed 3 times - towing again tomorrow. Any advice, suggestions, please?

    • @ac4382

It’s possible for no code to show and still be the sensor. It was happening to me until it finally came on. Gonna change my sensor out today. My car started stalling when I had the ac on but not without it. Then yesterday it stalled on me a couple times even without ac. Hopefully that fixes it.

I really hope someone sees this comment - I replaced my crankshaft position sensor, but my Frontier engine is still stalling and losing power. Now it’s just doing so without throwing the P0340 code. If it wasn’t the sensor itself, what is the next logical place to look for the problem?
