    "looks as inviting as a haunted house" love it Cash!!! I just came back from trip to Japan. It was so hot out, that I was using the subways every day partially just to stay cool. In Tokyo, the subway can be extremely crowded, but ALWAYS feel extremely safe. Everyone is respectful and quiet, no garbage, no graffiti - great subway system. I wish NYC could even be half as good. Keep reporting Cash, and thank you.

      I have seen videos on RUclips of subway systems in many foreign countries that are beautiful - clean, safe, and not a smidgen of graffiti. Some of these are in countries we used to look down on. Some are in countries we still look down on!
      NYC has become a giant, crime-ridden, rat-infested, graffiti-covered, dirty, dystopian slum.

    My son is starting law school in New York and has to commute there every day from New Jersey. He said he took the subway one time and saw three crimes committed. Never again.

    I rode the NYC subway system for 13 years, all hours, and was never afraid. Annoyed, yes, afraid no. The sight of the military protecting subway stations in "peacetime" is beyond shocking.

      That is not the case for most stations. It's usually in the busier stations in Lower Manhattan and downtown Brooklyn. It's not 24/7 and it is random

I could watch these with no sound and be captivated. many uploaders sit in front of a wall for 20+ minutes but you bring the heat, the circuses. you make it dynamic.     The United States has a HUGE problem with maintenance. Maintenance of subways. Maintenance of rail systems. Maintenance of bridges. Maintenance of ships (carriers, destroyers, submarines, etc.). Maintenance of planes (F-22, F-35, etc.). Maintenance of ICBMs (Minuteman III).
    Think about that.

    Ive seen multiple homeless people attack riders this month alone for refusing to give money or ignoring them.       And Chicago is a lot cleaner. We have alleys with garbage cans. In the better neighborhoods, it is pretty decent. We have outside cats and pellets to keep the rats at bay. South and West side communities are not so good. The black communities have every reason to gripe.

    I grew up in NYC. I am currently 58. When I was 13 I was on the subways alone. There were a lot of active crimes gangs and drugs everywhere. How is it worse than ever, with much better security systems in place? It is as if technology is not even worth having. All that extra stuff for crime to get worse. Explain this better if you can.

    Nice art, I told my visitors - but those of us who live here would appreciate it more if that money could be spent on keeping tracks, tunnels and trains maintained and fares low, instead of on decor for stations

      Actually, where I live in Japan, there's only one police officer (unarmed).
      Not sure about the bigger cities and prefectures. But crime here in general is very very low due to our culture and upbringing.

    New Yorkers, acutally all Americans need to travel to see Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen (silicon valley of china), Tianjin, Chengdu. Taipei. Tokyo, Seoul.
    They cities are clean, safe, prosperous. Their metros runs 99% on time, clean safe modern and fast.

      Our subways and airports are not upgraded like in the UK, JFK airport is like a dump and it is the main international hub on the east coast. Our subways are nothing but tin cans that rattle along the tracks.
      China has applied the latest tech in their rails with maglev traveling at speeds of up to 500 km per hr. They have taxis and buses that drive themselves (no drivers). While the dummies who lead this country are incompetent, don't give a damn about the ppl they are supposed to serve and have no foresight for the future, they're all a blank slate, all they care about is how much they are getting from the various lobbies to fatten their wallets. All they do is demonize China and try to bring down their economy because we can't compete

    The right to keep and bare arms, shall not be infringed. Allow the citizens to arm themselves to protect themselves. when you don’t do that, the crime gets to levels like this, but they just don’t understand it. criminals do not follow laws.
